Room was clean and comfortable (bed was very comfortable, complete with bedbug cover and mattress pad on top of that -- thank you). The hotel offered exactly what I need when I travel (microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, outlets at desk level -- thank you! And most importantly free wifi.

They should be embarrassed to offer the towels they use. They are so threadbare and used that hairs from previous guests are entwined in the fabric. I believe they have been washed (and are clean), but should be replaced. I did not use them as each bath towel (3 in total) had hairs on them. What on earth? That is revolting to any reasonable guest -- even those of us with low expectations. Completely unacceptable! Also, the hotel is clearly a family-run independent franchise as the staff all appears to be related to one another or at least of the same ethnicity -- nothing at all wrong with that, but may explain the bad reviews about the staff. If you don't fear reprimand (or termination) why change bad behaviors?

Ace location for getting into Manhattan with two choices of subway routes. Fab trip.

The hotel is very organized and gives you everything it promises, not more and not less.

I didn't like the fact that the windows didn't have a full blinds, so for a light sleeper like myself the sun gets in the way of a good night sleep.

Block and a half walking to subway one stop to manhattan.

The location close to the several metro stations to Midtown Manhattan is perfect, the staff was quite nice and helpful, our room, including bathroom was reasonably big and always clean, beds were comfortable. It is definitely a good value for money, if you are not too demanding.

The breakfast area is indeed small and the breakfast itself is basic. The area around is noisy from approximately 7 AM and there were some strange noises heard even during the night. WiFi was not working all the time.

A nice hotel, with a lot of European visitors. The neighbourhood and the metroo might seem rough, but is not. The hotel is just one block and one metro-station from Manhattan.

Value for money. Clean. Breakfast. Free and fast wi-fi.

Not far from Queensboro Plaza (10-15 minutes to Manhattan) and Queens Plaza (direct line to Air Train to jfk), but it's not Manhattan, the district is not attractive. I would not prefer this hotel next time for this reason.

Large and clean room with the fresh interior, good access to the subway station, friendly hotel staff, free tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The location of the place is excellent and at the price, it is a good deal. I liked the convenience of the place, access to transportation, and comfortable setting.

I traveled with my son and perhaps the one thing we didn't like was the overwhelming use of non-recyclable products in the breakfast area. They could go much better with recyclable products.

Staff was very friendly. Check-in and check-out simple & fast. Extremely nice room, especially for the price (when we stayed, one night was just under $100). Found out there were quite a few restaurants that actually delivered to the hotel, so that made it convenient for just wanting to stay in and relax.

Not very close to any restaurants or shops. Not a horribly bad walk to get to anything around the area (maybe 8 blocks or so), but still a bit long when it's cold outside, and you've just been traveling and are ready to relax a bit.

It was very nice, the rooms were decorated tastefully and overall the hotel had a beautiful decor. It was clean, couldn't find fault with it.

For the staff to acknowledge their customers, be kind, smile and give options for the rooms.

The clerks at the front desk, did not acknowledge us right away. They took their time, speaking in their own langusge. One of the clerks forgot to give me my driver is back...

The bedroom services especially a very comfortable bed!

Lack of onsite parking or special arrangement with adjacent car park tp reduce $20/day charge. Breakfast - lack of fresh fruit options (banana only) and other healthier choices; also plastic cutlery, plates and cups.

Only ten minutes by subway from Manhattan - but lots cheaper than staying in Manhattan. Was so quick and easy to get into city centre. Good facilities in room - microwave, fridge etc. Bed was big and comfy too! Good choice of foods at continental breakfast also, which set us up well for long days of sightseeing.

Although 'clean' we found several hairs in the bathroom that should have been swept or vacuumed up before the room was let out.

Close to the subway large room clean

Very noisy street: traffic jam outside the hotel. Taxi remise with beeping starting 4 am. The suburb is frequented by 'unsafe' people

I found the three or four front desk staff sullen and unfriendly. I considered their talking to each other in some language of the Indian subcontinent, while attending to me (who obviously did not understand that language) was disrespectful and also unpleasant - presumably done so I would not understand what they were saying to each other.

New hotel, nicely decorated, close to queensbourough plaza station.

We arrived late and received a basement room... yes, a basement room. A bit creepy and we should have been informed at the time the room was booked that we had such accomodations.

Good value and location.One Metro stop from Manhattan.Were able to walk the Queensborough Bridge to Manhattan when the subway shut down. Gas station / convenience store right next door which was a god send when hurricane Sandy hit.

Not many large shopping centers or sights to see in the immediate area

The rooms are very nice, clean and have enough size. The breakfast is not that good, but you get what you need. You can cook your own waffle, some people complain about it, but it is fresh! I had a beautiful view of the city, I fell asleep watching the Chrysler Building. Everything (maybe more than everything) you can get in a hotel in Manhattan, but nearly for half price! And it's close to the subway n, q, f (these are the ones I have used) lines. Has a 24h market (gas station) next to it.

There is no parking place, which is not a big issue. There is one parking place 20 meters to the hotel which is about $15 per night.
