The rooms are small (as are most in NYC), but workable. It was obvious that the room we were in was used by solo travellers most off the time, as one side of the bed was far harder than the other. The sheets didn't fit the bed properly, and they utilised a strange duvet (without a cover) - double-sheet-configuration which was not pleasant. The air-conditioning worked, but was difficult to control, so you were buffeted by strong, frigid gusts, or stifling, without a happy medium. The K-cup machine was a nice touch, but the VSOS water bottles at $6 each was an unnecessary nod to trendiness. If you want a high floor, stay at the Residence Inn, which is part of the same property.
Unbeatable location, extremely convenient to pretty much everything. Safe area, far enough away from the madness of Times Square but close enough to walk there in just a few minutes.
