Score from 214 reviews Wonderful
people were friendly and facilities nice. The manager, jamie
rooms loud, like walls are chalk. the service was confusing and overpriced. when the blackout happened there wasn't much support, explaination, help at all. my food was unedible, no apologies or discounts. ordered again later, as hadn't eaten, etc. Anyway they did give me a great discount at end, by the manager next day
Valet forgot to give me ticket when he was extremely busy, but the next morning when I mentioned that I did not have my ticket, other valet on duty said 2x that they always give a ticket, made me feel stupid, and he was wrong, (ticket was on my keys when he found them) needs training about arguing with customer, other ways to handle it
The Valet staff were so nice. Let me take an umbrella. I appreciated that.
Perfect location for attending events at the Moda Center!
We attended a concert at the Moda Center and it was only a short walk. Very close to restaurants too. Very friendly staff and great valet parking. Would stay again!
Breakfast was excellent
EVERYTHING! What a wonderful place to stay with such a great and caring staff. I won't ever look for any other location for all my future trips to Portland. The room was great and so clean. Only wish I could have tied the bed to the top of my car and taken it home with me!
Free shuttle service to & from the city. Guest laundry.
Restaurant food disappointing, very basic. Valet parking expensive.
The staff was nice, remembered us when we returned.
There are no safes in the room. When I went to the Front Desk to get a safe deposit box, the protocol was unclear. Then they brought the box to the Front Desk and had me take out/put in my belongings and then took the drawer in the back where I was unable to watch. Just wasn't very confidence inspiring. All else was great.
Staff and the blackout shades
It met most of our expectations. The staff made good on the self parking price even thou they didn't have self parking any longer. When our room was not made up they took care of it right away.
We arrived to find the parking policy had changed and the only option was valet parking. After being gone all day the first night we returned to an unmade room .
We were there in August for a relaxing weekend. Everyone there was so nice and all went out of there way for us.we go to Portland a a few times a year and plan to stay there whenever we go for basketball games. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
Karuna was wonderful! she made our stay extra special
Nice, upgraded interiors; quick, easy check-out, clean bathroom. Very nice reception area. Altogether, a relatively "no-frills" good value in Portland. Walk to the Convention center.
Sink had large crack in it, air conditioner/heater was extremely noisy (why not update to quieter, more energy-efficient models?), and lighter wall color with better light in toilet/shower area would make it a lot more pleasant. (Small, cramped & unnecessarily dark, especially in the shower, though it was VERY clean).
Staff and bar staff were great! Close enough to walk to Burnside Brewery.
Not too much around, but I still went exploring.
Everything was great. The staff was especially friendly and accommodating.
Having to pay to park
My room was over the garage door, so I heard it open and shut all the time.
Thought we were going to be downtown...we were not , info on location not clear, had to take a cab to go to eat, was not happy
Friendly staff and extremely accommodating
I knew nothing of Portland when I booked a Hotel so the "downtown" in the name we thought meant just that "Downtown". The facility was fine but it was a bit of a hike to actually get "downtown". Transit was fine and the cost of a cab not bad BUT would have much preferred to stay at the Marriott that was actually "Downtown".
The hotel room had many ants crawling around.
Located 5 min from convention centre. Small hotel so not busy. Friendly and helpful staff. They forgot to service room none day and gave us free breakfast to make up for it. Charley's restaurant is excellent and good value.
Expensive. Room and esp bathroom relatively basic for the price that we paid. Parking also not cheap.
Breakfast buffet very good quality with top notch servers and speed for busy morning travelers. Good and attentive desk and valet staff.
Window installed AC are always a bit noisy and disruptive when sleeping, but they are common in refurbished older hotels, a necessary nuisance.
The desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly - lots of great recommendations for restaurants and sights to see. The shuttle was made available to take us where we wanted to go.
It was a little farther away from the center city than we expected, but that's hardly their fault!
