The location was excellent for Old Town visits and the bed was comfortable.
$17+ to park in their garage? TV dim without adjustment, cracked soap holder with sharp edges that could cut fingers in shower, half of rooms (including mine) right next to and facing freeway, resulting in traffic noises present all night long.
Liked the modern design of the Lobby and ameneties. Liked that my request for a cab was arranged in a timely manner. Staff was helpful.
I did not like the paper thin walls, rooms are very noisy. Other guests doors slam so loud its ridiculous. I was woken up several times while sleeping as other guests were arriving to their rooms late. The bed needs more down comforters, blankets. The AC unit is outdated. I paid way too much for this room which was a King suite, not worth $400. I won't be booking here agian.
The location was seriously within walking distance of old town! We stayed in the king size reg room which was a bit small but the beds were really soft, very relaxing! The staff was great and the pool looked small lol
Small rooms, small pool.. That's it!
Beds comfy Staff nice
Sink too small in bathroom Leaks all over sink area Tiny sink area Housekeeping loud knocking in morning in rooms Trying to rest
Love being able to walk to everything in the old town area, parking is a bit tight, but so is everything in that area. The beds were super comfy and the rooms are nice.
Bartender was engaging. And was able to answer all our questions
Was in city for Dia de los Muertos. Good hotel, very close to Old Town. Comfortable, recommended.
Honestly just about everything. Location, staff, maidens were great....
Needs more breakfast items..
did not have the room we reserved and the room was dirty and noisy
For those who wants stay around old town is perfect. Also not so far from the airport and close to the beaches. I truly reccomend
$15 dollars for parking that nobody told us once we did our check in and at night couple days was wiithout a parking spot for my car.
Great location in old town and close to trolley to downtown.
small room for 4- wouldn't put a rollow away in because of size. No full length mirror anywhere- kind of weird.
Air conditioning system old so: 1. Can't keep up with moisture and humidity resulting in wet rugs in the rooms. Changed rooms twice but not better 2. System very noisy making sleep difficult
The staff was great. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms were extremely clean.
Unfortunately, there were elevator problems. At one point, both elevators were not working. I am glad we were on the third floor as we had to use the stairs.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room that I had reserved was not available because they had over-booked, but the staff did all in their power to make it up to me. They discounted our stay and gave us 2 free breakfast tickets. I was happy with how the situation was handled. There really wasn't much difference between a King Room and a King Suite. The location in Old Town was fine. However, I did make it a point to get a room that faced away from the freeway. I think if you stay on the freeway side, you will probably have an issue with the noise. The room was very spacious and relatively clean. The comforter had seen some better days (I always bring a small bottle of Lysol for such occasions), but the bed was comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken for the first day without our noticing (the San Diego weather was mild). But on the second day, it became uncomfortable. We called the front desk twice and eventually a maintenance person replaced our unit. Our room was comfortable after that.
The walls are pretty thin. We could hear the persons who had the room above us clearly. The door was thin. Anything and everything that happens on both sides of the door could be heard. The wifi was difficult to connect to our tablets. There was a free airport shuttle, but neither booking.com or the Courtyard websites stated this. We paid almost $50 for SuperShuttle service. I suppose it may have been my fault for not calling and asking about a shuttle. But, perhaps the most obnoxious thing about this hotel is the elevator. There are only 4 floors in the hotel and every elevator ride would take (and I'm not joking) 3-5 minutes.
Room with patio.
Air conditioner at night time was unusually loud.
Starbuck located inside hotel ,that was great.
Very small pool
Staff were very accommodating (but unable to supply a second chair). Breakfast was quite good - priced a bit high.
there is a microwave and refrigerator in the room, but only one chair - can't both sit at the small table to have a snack, or a meal, or just coffee together. One of us had to sit on the bed which was very inconvenient. The staff were unable to supply a second chair ?!?!?
The location in Old Town is good but then I was given a room with a freeway view. I had to have my room cards activated twice before they were operational. The phone in the room did not work.
Great Staff. Convenient location
Loved the room, friendliness of the staff
They don't include breakfast in the price like some of the other hotels.
very clean, close to several reseraunts, easy to find
Not very much. The hotel took a $40.00 security deposit and said it would be refunded on check out. I paid in full with cash on arrival. Then during the night they charged my room rate again and slid the notice under my door telling me that I still owed for the room even though I had a receipt for my payment. I am group tour operator and I have used this hotel in the past when it was a Ramada and Holiday Inn, but I'm not sure I will ever book it again after this experience.
It was like the old Holiday Inn Express with a new paint job! Staff would not take me four blocks to meet my bus since it was Cinco de Mayo weekend because they said the streets were closed. NOT True. Jefferson Street to Congress Street and down Congress Street were open to traffic and I told them that, but they said "No." So, I had to walk the 4 blocks with my cane in my right hand and my bag in my left hand. I had to stop and rest twice before I reached the corner of Congress and Twiggs.
The Location. Just a short walk to Old Town - closer to Cafe Coyote and the old Adobe church. The staff - very friendly and attentive/responsive. The overall Mariott quality and cleanliness in the rooms.
The charge for overnight parking - but hey, it's old town San Diego :) - parking is at a premium.
I didn't like the fact that there was no complimentary breakfast or coffee unlike the other Marriott's that I've stood in.
The friendly people
The cost was to much for that size of room
