The only comment I have is that the hotel could use a little updating, especially in the hallways. I know the hotel is working on this. The inside of the rooms are great and actually very quiet for being right on the freeway.
This hotel is in an excellent location, yes you're right on the freeway but it's such easy access to I-5, you can literally get on the freeway with one right turn and a half a block, which then gives you easy access to get anywhere quickly in San Diego. there's plenty of offstreet parking if you want to avoid the garage fee and old town is just blocks away in a very easy walk.
Our room was not made up, even after telling a housekeeper that we would be leaving and out all day. Came back late at night with garbage, soiled towels and unmade beds. Also the sink area was very small. No counter space.
I liked the fact that they served Starbucks coffee.
We were located in the room between a domestic disturbance that occurred on Saturday March 14th. We were afraid for our safety. We were reimbursed 1/2 the price of our room for the night but felt we deserved more.
We really liked the location of the facility. It was very easy to come and go. The bed was also very comfortable.
The bathroom sink and area was a bit small but a minor detail.
Our room was super - clean and did not have that chemical smell. Nice sheets, pillows and loved the big shower head.
First off the website advertises FREE PARKING, when I arrived I had to pay $17 for a paring pass. Secondly they have a restaurant in the hotel but they don't deliver to the rooms. I recommend getting a room at the Fairfield a block away for $10 more and at least that includes a free continental breakfast.
The basics of the hotel and the staff were great
Drabness of the facilities, low ceilings small hallways
Far from Gaslamp and moving by tram, takes a long time. On arrival, at the tram station was difficult to locate the hotel.
The spacious and comfortable room.
Booking.com messed up on the reservations and I had to pay full price for the second night of stay.
The staff were nice enough to find us an appropriate room to stay in.
$17+ to park in their garage? TV dim without adjustment, cracked soap holder with sharp edges that could cut fingers in shower, half of rooms (including mine) right next to and facing freeway, resulting in traffic noises present all night long.
The location was excellent for Old Town visits and the bed was comfortable.
I did not like the paper thin walls, rooms are very noisy. Other guests doors slam so loud its ridiculous. I was woken up several times while sleeping as other guests were arriving to their rooms late. The bed needs more down comforters, blankets. The AC unit is outdated. I paid way too much for this room which was a King suite, not worth $400. I won't be booking here agian.
Liked the modern design of the Lobby and ameneties. Liked that my request for a cab was arranged in a timely manner. Staff was helpful.
Small rooms, small pool.. That's it!
The location was seriously within walking distance of old town! We stayed in the king size reg room which was a bit small but the beds were really soft, very relaxing! The staff was great and the pool looked small lol
Sink too small in bathroom Leaks all over sink area Tiny sink area Housekeeping loud knocking in morning in rooms Trying to rest
Beds comfy Staff nice
Love being able to walk to everything in the old town area, parking is a bit tight, but so is everything in that area. The beds were super comfy and the rooms are nice.
Bartender was engaging. And was able to answer all our questions
Was in city for Dia de los Muertos. Good hotel, very close to Old Town. Comfortable, recommended.
Needs more breakfast items..
Honestly just about everything. Location, staff, maidens were great....
did not have the room we reserved and the room was dirty and noisy
$15 dollars for parking that nobody told us once we did our check in and at night couple days was wiithout a parking spot for my car.
For those who wants stay around old town is perfect. Also not so far from the airport and close to the beaches. I truly reccomend
small room for 4- wouldn't put a rollow away in because of size. No full length mirror anywhere- kind of weird.
Great location in old town and close to trolley to downtown.
Air conditioning system old so: 1. Can't keep up with moisture and humidity resulting in wet rugs in the rooms. Changed rooms twice but not better 2. System very noisy making sleep difficult
Unfortunately, there were elevator problems. At one point, both elevators were not working. I am glad we were on the third floor as we had to use the stairs.
The staff was great. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms were extremely clean.
The walls are pretty thin. We could hear the persons who had the room above us clearly. The door was thin. Anything and everything that happens on both sides of the door could be heard. The wifi was difficult to connect to our tablets. There was a free airport shuttle, but neither booking.com or the Courtyard websites stated this. We paid almost $50 for SuperShuttle service. I suppose it may have been my fault for not calling and asking about a shuttle. But, perhaps the most obnoxious thing about this hotel is the elevator. There are only 4 floors in the hotel and every elevator ride would take (and I'm not joking) 3-5 minutes.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room that I had reserved was not available because they had over-booked, but the staff did all in their power to make it up to me. They discounted our stay and gave us 2 free breakfast tickets. I was happy with how the situation was handled. There really wasn't much difference between a King Room and a King Suite. The location in Old Town was fine. However, I did make it a point to get a room that faced away from the freeway. I think if you stay on the freeway side, you will probably have an issue with the noise. The room was very spacious and relatively clean. The comforter had seen some better days (I always bring a small bottle of Lysol for such occasions), but the bed was comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken for the first day without our noticing (the San Diego weather was mild). But on the second day, it became uncomfortable. We called the front desk twice and eventually a maintenance person replaced our unit. Our room was comfortable after that.
Air conditioner at night time was unusually loud.
Room with patio.
Very small pool
Starbuck located inside hotel ,that was great.
there is a microwave and refrigerator in the room, but only one chair - can't both sit at the small table to have a snack, or a meal, or just coffee together. One of us had to sit on the bed which was very inconvenient. The staff were unable to supply a second chair ?!?!?
Staff were very accommodating (but unable to supply a second chair). Breakfast was quite good - priced a bit high.
