Clean, clean, clean. All areas are kept spotless. Great staff, always smiling and friendly. Parking reasonable, and covered.
The Bistro did not have several items available on the menu. I had to get to my fourth choice before it was available. There was not a floor length mirror in the bathroom, or dressing area.
The room was nice. Newly rennovated. The locate was good especially if you are a race fan.
There was only a half a roll of toilet paper in the room and of course we didnt realize this until we ran out in the middle of the night. There was coffee mugs for 2 but only enough cream and sugar for 1. I think the Bistro should be promoted better. We didnt even know it exsisted.
The location was excellent for our purpose
Other people in my party who had made their reservations the same time as me had a rate of $169., while my rate was 189. There was construction going on with a lot of noise and drop cloths all over the place to trip on. There should have definitely been some sort of discount for the inconvenience of the construction. I have used your service many times in the past and this was the worst.
*Location *Convenience to beach and town of Del Mar and Solana Beach *Very close to Del Mar Racetrack *Quiet area for such a busy place during the summer *Close to Cedros Ave and shopping *Train station nearby *Shuttle to the racetrack good touch *Close to freeways *The Brigantine Restaurant is across the street *Lots to like!
*Parking fee -1st time ever to pay that - come every year! *Renovation not complete - poor image for such a great place *No complimentary breakfast *No horse racing network on cable tv for racing fans - cater to your clientele - You can subscribe to it on Direct tv *You must go the extra mile, so people will return - you need to market your hotel much better than you do. It's all about the races from July thru Labor Day Week-End! *How about offering some package deals and/or discounts for race fans? *Every year it's the same ole thing......that is not reinventing yourself at all. It's just not about renovations. How about renovating your market strategy during the summer?? *Poor phone reception for AT&T customers? What's that about - should be an easy fix. *Love your property....please recreate it!
Spacious room with all amenities we needed. Laundry too - helpful on long trip from Europe. Lots of cafés close by and good parking.
Location, near venue. Staff. Provided discount for room.
Understaffed. Rooms poorly furnished. Noisy near street, garbage bin and over the laundry room. TV didn't work.
Cool hotelwith great facilities. Really liked the pool and breakfast in the bistro was really good.
Wifi was a bit patchy in the room so needs attention
Location was good
Inexperienced staff on a major holiday weekend. Jacuzzi was dirty. No one informed us construction was going on. Even though we booked over a month ahead they scrambled to get our rooms close with no apologies
Employees were friendly and helpful. Room clean and quiet at night.
The room had just been renovated but it was not ready to move in. It smelled strongly of fresh paint. We kept the slider open as much as possible. The frig was not plugged in and the shower head had not been adjusted. Also cannot turn off without sticking your head in the shower spray. Awful design! A chair and ottoman was moved in the second day we were there. The lock on the slider was broken.. A final walk thru should be done before occupied! The advertisment states 2 blocks from the beach. Ya, by the way the crow flies! And then climbing back up the stairs from the beach was quit a chore especially for a senior citizen which I am.
They charge an extra $12 a day to park here...the rate that booking.com provided is a lie.
The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. It's an easy walk to Cedros Ave, and the Belly Up to watch the bands. I like the idea seeing the entertainment and then taking a short walk back to the hotel.
Location, & Newly remodeled room.
after making reservation several months in advance & calling to confirm, room requested wasn't available, & had to argue to get what we paid for. Parking fee is ridiculous! Should be free to guests since there isn't anywhere off-site to park.
Having to pay for parking.
Helpful and friendly staff
The signage could be improved.
The staff is great, very friendly and always helpful. The courtyard in the middle of the hotel is a nice place to relax. The location is very convenient for walking to restaurants, beach, coffee, etc.
My room interior was very dated and EXTREMELY thin walls. They are remodeling however and clearly I was in an old room.
No extra blankets
Access to shopping and restaraunts.
Proximity to beach. The courtyard area by the pool and fireplace. The suite upgrade offered at time of check-in for no additional cost (low occupancy). The tomato flat bread menu item at the Cafe by the pool.
Uncomfortable bed. Loud HVAC unit. Loud gurgling refrigerator. Really cold and ugly fluorescent lighting. Thin walls - hearing too much of my neighbors. It was not a restful night at all.
Restaurants and shops walking distance. Nice!
I checked in alone. My husband joined me very late that evening. I would have appreciated a room closer to the front office or the court yard for security purposes only. I was sent to the farthest corner of the hotel. Not cool. The layout of the hotel is a little bit of zigzag so it's a little tricky to find the elevator.
