Great location.Old NH Rustic feel. No glitz or glam....remember you are in the mountains. Friendly staff/owners. If you need anything just ask they are very accomodating. Nice place for a long weekend getaway! I would definately stay there again.
All the negative reviews on this site. If you are looking for luxuries and not just a nice quaint place to stay in the mountains then look elsewhere.
-The ,location -The lobby room with the fireplace was nice -It was clean
The interior is tired and looks as if it hadn't been updated in 50 years
Great location, right across the road from a bar/ restaurant that had some great live music whilst we were there.
There's a fairly ominous letter included in the 'welcome pack' entitled 'removal of guests' which didn't make us feel too welcome!
The room was clean and roomy. The Ellis river was close to the property. It is close to many tourists attractions.
Good water presure and plenty of hot water. Plenty of ice.
Virtually no ammenities, there was a Kurig in our room bot no k-cups or coffee cups. Only one plastic cup. No hair dryer. Basically, the whole place needs an update. The owner doesn't seem to care about the customer experience. There was no vending machine.
Gross bathroom, out dated , wasn't worth the money ! Won't be staying there again , very disappointed
Clean friendly staff beautiful location on the Ellis river. Grounds well keep and beautiful view of mountains. Owner was very pleasant and went out of his way to make things right.
We were up I Jackson NH the week before the peak of foliage and thought the price of one hundred and fifty dollars a night was way over priced considering the accomadations. Very small room.
I liked that it was close to the wedding we attended.
Old carpeting that was dirty, the place smelled like mold, pillows smelled and I woke up with a rash on my face, the mattresses were old and sheets were cheap. I wouldn't walk barefoot in there.
Not fancy, good value, very nice staff. Not for anyone who needs glitz or shampoo. Beautiful location.
No hot tub like advertised, the pictures on line did not look like the rooms. No coffee in room just a pot.
Last year we paid 40$ per night in this motel - which is a great value for money for this type of facility (everything is veeeryyyy old). Having to pay 125$ per night this year was really a bad surprise.
It was very easy to find. Decent restaurant within walking distance.
It was very dated. There was no one at the desk when we arrived at 5:00 pm. We had to call a number and had to wait (about 10 minutes) until someone showed up to check us in. The listing photos made it look charming...it wasn't.
Near a river
Musty smelling rooms, very uncomfortable beds
Nice friendly lady. And a nice backyard where you can relax at the water
Didn't liked the rooms.. Looked and smelled old..
Great location on the beautiful Ellis river, which runs right behind the motel, and also close to area attraction such as Bearcat Mountain, Storyland and Mt. Washington. Room had lovely porch overlooking river. Picnic facilities.
Older facilities and kind of run down, (the porch screen was torn, letting mosquitoes in, which there were a lot of) , breakfast was very inimal (diy toast your-own-bagel and coffee - that's it) We ordered an extra bed ahead of time but they didn't have it upon arrival. When it did arrive, was very uncomfortable.Owner seemed unhappy to be doing his job.
location; very near to all White Mt. attractions
Such a pretty location, but the place really is in need of serious updating. For a little more money, there are wonderful places to stay nearby.
the Saco river was right behind the roomy backyard and firepit. Watch out for poison ivy on your way down the path. Liked private balcony. Liked that you could walk across the road to a nice restaurant. Room was clean. Quiet.
For $160 a night, we should have had better towels, soap, coffee supplies and a newer bedspread.
The bed, tv
Location by the river
There were beetles in the bed, on the bed under the covers and under the sheets. The mattresses were old and stained. The caretakers were rude and smelled of alcohol. I can't believe I spent this kind of money. I will think twice before booking thru booking.com again, if this is the type of place you value. I should fight for my money back!!!!
the staff was very nice
not worth the money paid.
The position of this Lodge is simply enchanting, big rooms with a view of the river and a private balcony. Kind and friendly persons running this place, definetely recommended.
The owner snooped, he peaked in our car while my friends and I were in it as we were leaving for the wedding we were attending. At 11:45pm my friends and I came back to the room, the owner was waiting in the parking lot and approached us to ask how many people were staying in our room. We were arriving back from a wedding to change from our formal clothing. A friend was with us while waiting for her boyfriend/partner to pick her up. Ten minutes later; at 12:00am the owner knocked on our motel room door, he demanded that our friend leave our room, he wouldn't let her stay to wait for him. He questioned what time her boyfriend would come by to get her and he was going to wait until he arrived. He asked us to pay $15.00 for our friend to be in our room, so we paid it so she could stay and visit. As far as the conditions of the room it was unacceptable The towels were scruffy and all fringed. The carpet was stained and the bed was uncomfortable, I woke with a back ache.
location is very good with its proximity to many great thing to do in the jackson area. we had a decent room with a balcony overlooking the ellis river. also nice backyard on the river was an enjoyable place to sit after a long hike
hotel as very skimpy on some basics like plastic cups, toilet paper, tissue paper, and soap. also there was a keurig coffee maker but no coffee or even any coffee mugs. bring this stuff and your overall experience should be good.
