The owners were very friendly. The free wine tasting was great. The bed was comfortable enough and extra bedding was provided. The whole place has a vintage feel like an old summer camp from the fifties, which was kind of quaint. Brandon is a charming little village at the foot of the Green Mountains.
Our cottage was very cold at night. We could hear the traffic from the nearby highway. The mini fridge was right beside the head of the bed, and the noise from the compressor was waking us up at night. My husband is allergic to dust and pet dander and couldn't stop sneezing.
The name of the place is perfect....Cozy is exactly what our little cottage was! Very clean, loved the fire place, just a perfect place to be when you want to get away from the rat race!
Our shower was a bit odd - but outside of that - all was good!
Staff was nice.
Cottages are very old and run down. Door frame broken, dangerous gap between steps and doorway, grimy tip envelope on mantle says it all about cleanliness. Construction crews use it as a motel. It would be a good value at about $35/night.
The owner and his wife are excellent hosts. The cottage is like stepping right back into the 50's. It may not be for everyone, but the cottage was very clean and comfortable. the fireplace is a nice touch at the end of a day.
The bed was very hard.
The cabins are great for privacy and the views are lovely. You can lounge inside by the fire, or outside looking at the grapes, and the wine at the winery is reasonably priced and has many different types that should appeal to a range of tastes.
The facilities are not new and shiny, but everything works (plenty of hot water!).
Cute though vintage
Wifi was intermittent and unreliable. Breakfast was sparse and unhealthy. Bathroom needs updating
The staff is super hospitable and helpful. It is a family run business and they do not hesitate to help you. The wine is amazing and the cottages are perfect. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a scenic, relaxing weekend that is reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning to Cozy Cottages. Thank you Ursula and Steve !
The office closes at 9pm so if you get in after that and you have any problems, there is no one to help you. We had to freeze under the covers in 30 degrees. We had a fireplace with two logs, which burned out after a couple of hours. The next morning the staff said there was a space heater we could have used, but I doubt that would have helped in a two room cottage.
Dirty and tired. In the cabin we were in the toilet overflowed like a fountain; the decor was stained ceiling tiles, ratty furniture, and ancient nasty looking indoor/outdoor carpet. I was let down by Booking.com's inaccurate image of this dump.
Location and staff great
Musty smell....but the buildings are old...not much you can do
Free wine tasting for guests! Very friendly staff and cute cottages. We had a great stay.
Quaint, comfortable, minimalistic...not a 5 star hotel ,but wd give it 3
Good use newer touches to the exterior
Quiet area and neighbors.
It was over priced. Too rustic. Water pressure low. Toilet hard to flush and shower hard to regulate.
Very comfortable cottage, accommodations were good. Price is very reasonable.
The dogs were great!!!! The staff was super nice and let us check out late and use the shower after a long bike ride.
From the road, it looks quaint.
High price to pay for lots of road noise, shabby accommodations and a bathroom with leaky tub and sink faucets. You can get a nicer room in Middlebury for the same price. Definitely not a good value in our opinion.
Warm welcome, relaxed enviromnemt, cozy, eclectic cottages and great location for sightseeing.
Proprietor Ursula was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to make us comfortable. The cottages ,while a little rundown in outward appearance, are actually very comfortable and well appointed.
The nightly rate was a little too high for the value. Breakfast was only served on the weekends (although there is a great diner in Brandon!) The pool needed more upkeep and more lawn games would be appreciated.
The setting was rural and was very quiet, which is what we were looking for. The owners were very accommodating and welcoming.
