It was an old hotel with a lot of the original woodwork etc. Very cool. Slightly modernized-WiFi, USB, door lock-that was helpful. Room was clean and beds comfortable. It had a very good and simple continental breakfast- fruit, yogurt(excellent), muffins. Good location in downtown Brandon. Walking distance to a breakfast spot(eggs, pancakes, etc) and a good pub. Also nearby was a supermarket and drugstore. I could easily stay here a few days to explore the area. Also close to to Middlebury, Killington, Rutland, state parks, hiking. We enjoyed our stay.

The Inn sits in a beautiful spot that is feels woodsy with the sound of the creek across the road but it is also an easy walk into the super charming village of East Middlebury. Dinner at the Tavern there was excellent and the staff were friendly.

We were very pleased. Peter always had something for us in the morning. He was a very good host and very friendly. It was a great stay. Enjoyed talking with him as he would always ask how we were doing.

I didn't like that there was not a guest elevator. We did not like that there was not a TV. We were disappointed in the breakfast and the total lack of attention we were given at breakfast. The location of the inn is EXCELLENT!, just a few miles north of Rutland where we attended the Dionne Warwick concert. We felt like we were staying in a guest room in a stately old home. Our room was spotlessly clean, the beds were confortable, and the inn was quiet. Both of us slept better than we usually do. Personally, I liled the actual physical key in lieu of the common key card. The room was spacious and original. Keep in mind that pretty much everything is closed on Mondays in Brandon.
