Score from 305 reviews Good
This hotel is in the center of New Orleans, less than a 5-minute walk from the French Quarter. It has a 6-story atrium and spacious air-conditioned rooms.
Score from 33 reviews Very good
We loved the personalised approach that you generally don't experience with the larger hotel chains. Miss Annie's breakfasts were the best. We loved our stay and would be happy to recommend to family and friends that intend to visit.
A water tower and perhaps a coffee percolator in the room would have been handy. The tap water was not pleasant.
The decor is lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
very quite food parking facility free close to good restaurants close to trolley The employees were very helpful
Funky decorating Friendly staff great location
Great breakfast - hot, cooked fresh daily. Only 1 block to St Charles street car
This is in an old area and is being renovated. Some of the rooms are probably very nice, but outs was a bit tacky. Bathroom had mostly new fixtures, but the shower was an old warn clawfoot tub with 2 plastic curtains around it & a shower head so you have to climb into this warn tub to shower. Could be difficult for some people to even get in & out of.
It was only one block off St. Charles street. So street car acesss to everything we did was a breeze. Easy free parking. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Staff and rooms were great. Would love to stat again. But would also just pop in to say "hi!" To Miss Anne.
I cannot think of anything.
Convenient to Convention Center (biz conf location), and everything we wanted to see/do. Location between St Charles streetcar and Magazine St bus very comfortable. Quiet courtyard, comfortable and inviting. Friendly, helpful staff. Ample breakfast,
Climb up stairs to our "cottage" (actually a small room).
The relaxed, easy come, easy go, atmosphere. Breakfast was brilliant, cooked by locals in New Orleans style. And the location was spot on, just minutes to the streetcar stop.
A bar would have been brilliant, just to have a quiet drink before dinner. But that is all.......really.
Staying in the Garden District The Garden was pretty The Cook and waitress were excellent Breakfast was delicious
Stairway to room The garden furniture was dirty Not enough nice restaurants within walking distance The bed was too firm for me but other guests may like firm beds
All the comforts of home
Located close to the French Quarter. Ample off street parking. Beautiful quiet courtyard. Our room had a decent view and was so comfortable. We did not eat breakfast here but it smelled amazing and it was offered every morning until 10am. The staff were awesome and super friendly.
Everything about this place was fabulous! The staff was beyond helpful. Yummy breakfast. The location could not have been better. Just off interstate and 1 block from St Charles and the trolley stop. The charm never ended.
The style, the staff, the location and overall feel of the place.
The room was very clean & location was good. We were within a few blocks of several good places to eat & the street cars. All in all a good value for the money.
The bed was too soft for me...used to a firmer one. And the stairs were a bit much... Should have asked for 1st floor- we were on 3rd. The rooms furniture was shabby & falling apart too.... But it was ok- safe & clean
The breakfast, which is included in the price of the room, was better than most meals I have paid for in nice restaurants. The staff treated us like family. I would love to go back in the future.
What a wonderful visit. Every morning when I stepped out of my suite, I would see the Creole Gardens and smile! It is a happy place, perfectly located. Breakfast is outstanding… and we got to enjoy listening to Barbara sing as she prepared it. We'll definitely be staying again!
Wonderful court yard and awesome access to everything. Staff were super nice. The breakfest was awesome. The rooms were clean.
Mostly the window AC unit. The room has air vents but wanst being used. The place could use a paint job.
Trolley was close by so I parked the car and never used it while there
The decor and ambience is great. More a home stay than a hotel. The outdoor courtyard was perfect place to have a cup of tea and chat to other guests. Easy access to the French quarter and University district on the street car. Great breakfast served by lovely ladies. Free parking a definite bonus in this busy city.
Nothing. Room was small but perfectly adequate for 2 small retirees, might feel a little cramped for some people.
great staff (helpful, pleasant, attentive) rooms (attention to details of furnishings, linens, toiletries) location, location, location (close to trolley, restaurants, older neighborhoods to explore) colorful patios (all for people watching, some for koi watching, some for reflection, all for happiness) new acqaintences delicious breakfast (off the chain!) sunny dining room antiques mixed with modern patio lights clawfoot tub all rooms have a great view (at least all i saw) expansion underway (yay, more rooms) great place for speacial events
short trip had to leave
Comfortable bed, good big cooked-to-order breakfast, pretty courtyard, good selection of restaurants nearby, friendly and helpful staff, a block from St. Charles streetcar, small, quiet. Free parking. They welcome pets. Excellent value.
When people talked in the courtyard, you heard it in most rooms, even when they were quiet. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Don't expect modern. The furniture is mostly battered, with sticky drawers.
Liked staying in the garden district. Location just a couple blocks from the St. Charles street car, also near an Emeril restaurant (where I was able to get cabs easily, since people were taking them there from other parts of the City), and a good (even to a carnivore) vegan restaurant is just on the corner. Decor was cute, but they are in the middle of renovating. However, I didn't notice any noise problems while I was there. Walkable to a drugstore.
Changed rooms due to a leaking air conditioner. Shower head was a bit slow and it took a while to wash my hair.
What I liked about Creole Gardens is that it is a historic landmark, bed and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good each day, hot breakfast as well as fruits and breads. It was located close to the trolley and restaurants in the Garden District. If you like "old charm" this is a place for you. Our friends had a problem in their room that could not be fixed and they were upgraded to a large room at no additional fee. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
If you are expecting 4 star lodging, you will be disappointed. While the rooms were clean, there are many repairs that are needed. It is under renovation, so you may want to give them some time.
I chose this place on a whim after weeks of looking. I could not have been more pleased. I wish I could have back the hours of my life I wasted looking at hotels on or near Bourbon St. I was swayed by the free, hot breakfast (nom nom, thank you again) and free parking. But the best part was the B&B itself. It made our Nola visit super authentic. A million times better than a stuffy hotel! The streetcar is right around the corner but it's super fun to just wonder around on foot and explore. I will definitely visit again and stay here.
Late arrivals had a hard time figuring out where their rooms were despite the welcome letter. I suggest a "you are here" map with a detailed layout of where each room is.
Staff was exceptional. We really enjoyed our afternoon conversations with Steve, the owner. Our room was wonderful. It was large and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a claw foot tub and a shower. We had a private porch that was fun to sit out at the end of the night. The location was great and it was quiet, with free parking. It was in a regular neighborhood and just a great quirky feel. The breakfast was really good. We just can't wait to go back.
Wifi was too weak in our room. We were able to access it from the downstairs, dining room area though.
