Location Full Breakfast Wi-Fi
The guesthouse is beautiful, an old and colorful house. The rooms are nice and cozy, the staff is excellent, there's lemonade in the afternoon and some snacks, breakfast is wonderful and some Friday nights the cook turns into resident dj on the premises! Best hotel of our road trip.
The tub wasn't draining properly but they fixed it right away.
This hotel is in a wonderful very old New Orleans mansion. The staff is super. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Comfortable bed. Good WIFI. The breakfast has a selection of cold items and hot special of the day. It is just a block away from the St. Charles trolley. There is a very good BBQ place right at the trolley stop, too.
That I had to leave so soon.
The inn was close enough to the city for a short cab ride, but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. The claw foot tubs were very nice. Breakfast was also very good - continental and hot.
Our neighbor had a dog that barked for a while, despite the hotel's notice to not leave barking dogs alone.
From the first look this bed and breakfast looks like it might not be anything special but it's location and staff really make the stay memorable. They serve a really good breakfast. The rooms we stayed in were named after women in New Orleans. There is an amazing little coffee shop less then a block away and a trolly that takes you from the garden district right to the front steps of Bourbon St for a $1.25 one way or $3.00 for a day pass. Also if you enjoy vegan food there is a great restaurant that is across the street that will blow you away, talk about an affordable jem. Also the AC is amazing in the rooms.
The room was a little muggy but the AC fixed that.
The staff is very approachable, very helpful and professional. Breakfast was cooked with pride, was authentic (grits and eggs etc.) and delicious. Overall Creole Gardens has a warm inviting feeling in a great neighborhood very close to the St. Charles street car line and some good eateries.
If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you. It's like staying with the creative side of your family not the side of your family with OCD.
Fabulous location. A short street car ride away from Bourbon street and all the activity. In the other direction, a short ride away from the beautiful houses of the Garden District.
The room had dust bunnies. Not thorougly cleaned. Only towels changed and not the bed sheets.
I liked the location since it's close to St. Charles Street Car, great restaurants, super comfy bed, history of Guesthouse is excellent, Miss Annie and Barbara treat you like family, Keith is helpful with ideas of fun things to do that are off the beaten path, breakfast can not be beat from Miss Annie and Barbara. You feel like family. Wonderful staff!
A few items needed maintaining like floor boards which could have been a tripping hazard in our room.
Creole has a relaxed vibe. A 2 minute walk to trams and only a short ride that will take you to both the Garden district and Jackson Square ends They had the best breakfast in New Orleans
The exterior was a little run down and our front door lock would jam when we tried to enter but it definitely added to the character and personality of the place
When I first arrived I was a little surprised.....didn't know what to expect. I walked into office and staff was wonderful! I was shown around and every need was layed out for me. Everything was so clean and comfortable. My room was absolutely charming. Breakfast was delicious! Miss Annie and her staff were amazing in dining room. I met people from all parts of U.S. and Canada. This experience cannot be found at big fancy impersonal hotels. Being a native I have stayed all over New Orleans and have never felt more at home. I now live on the North Shore and came in to volunteer for Color Run and get some R&R. My niece met me there and we made a promise that we would be back! 1 block from Streetcar and walking distance to any type of dining. Can't wait to come back!
Cannot say there was one single thing I did not like.
Our room was comfortable and pleasant, with an excellent bed and good air conditioning. The courtyard gives a charming atmosphere. The breakfasts were very good and served with individual attention. If you like the bigger, fancier hotels, this place isn't for you... but if you like smaller, more charming bed and breakfasts, I highly recommend Creole Gardens.
*excellent , made to order breakfast included - that's a 20 savings * free parking - that's a 20 savings * room comfortable and clean
location fair- not a lot of interest in walking distance but a very short drive to attractions
We stayed in the "Mansion 2" room which was very large and spacious. The room was clean and had a very nice antique feel. I proposed to my now fiance there and she absolutely loved it. You also cannot beat the made to order breakfast in the morning.. much better than a hotel continental breakfast. Very easy to get on the trolley to head anywhere in the city. It only took about ten minutes to get to the French Quarter and downtown for $3 a person/day. We did also have a rental car and parking was a breeze.
Wireless was a bit spotty, but we didn't really mind as we were there for vacation.
The house is beautiful, the room was great, the breakfast excellent and the people working there are very nice. Also the location is good, very close to the street car which is a nice way to arrive to the French Quartier.
There were not adequate amenities in the bathroom, like soap of enough towels. Also the party the staff were having on Saturday night in the backyart was a little bit noisy.
Will stay here again when in New Orleans.
Nice room Nice breakfast Location of hotel
some not very nice animals around our room
The staff is superb. They make you feel like at home. Annie and Joe are great, the atmosphere is so familiar and nice. The structure is very original, it makes you feel like you are back in the past. Loved it!
The only thing was the noise of the air conditioning in the room.
CGI is in the beautiful Garden District about a 20 min walk or 10 min. streetcar ride outside of the French Quarter. That was a plus for us as we wanted to see more of the city. We did both, it was a comfortable and safe walk with pretty views and the streetcar was a nice experience too (very close to the B&B and comes frequently). We also used a cab, which came within 10 minutes and was only about $10 to the Commanders Palace in the Garden District and the same price when we took one to the center of the French Quarter. The staff is awesome, so friendly and welcoming. Free breakfast was delicious, ours was shrimp, grits, bacon, and eggs plus a generous continental spread. $4 mimosas and bloodmarys available too, also delicious. The facilities were clean, cute, and interesting. Loved the colorful garden area. We stayed in the cabins. Water was hot, AC was cold, bed was very comfortable. Also parking was FREE, the only place we found that offered that. We can't wait to come back!
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
I loved how attentive the staff was! They provide you with absolutely everything you need upon arrival and then let you alone to explore New Orleans. The guesthouse is very conveniently located in the garden district which is reasonably close to tourist spots such as The French Quarter and Bourbon street. I dealt with Keith the most and he clearly goes above and beyond every day at work. He was always ready to answer any questions we had or to offer a recommendation. I also liked how the guesthouse is locked up at night and the fact that they cook up a hot breakfast every morning which is included in the visit. I will definitely be back and have to say thank you very much to Creole Gardens for their hospitality.
Closeness to trolley, friendly staff, breakfast, guide books available for research.
Steps up to second floor. Noisy aircon.
