The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.
Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.
To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.
From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.
In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

Enjoyed our various tours - Garden District walking tour with Two Chicks Tours, French Quarter walking tour with Friends of the Calibo, all-day plantation and swamp boat tour with Tours by Isabella. Visited the WWII museum but be sure to allocate enough time (probably 4 hours minimum). For music, we went to Maison on French Street which had some great, classic New Orleans Jazz on Saturday night. Would recommend the beignets at Cafe Beignet over Cafe Du Monde - they were larger and fluffier - and just tastier.

I have been to NOLA before.
I have been to NOLA before. I had just exited a cruise ship and decided to stay over one night, other than risk getting to the airport in time. As such, I just concentrated on the French Quarter and found a great hotel. Walked everywhere, ate good food, enjoyed the street art and music, as well as great jazz and blues in the evening. I made the most of my 30 hours.

We are Louisiana natives and travel to NOLA at least twice a year for long weekend getaways. The food is the best on the continent. The local live music scene is on par with Austin and Nashville. And as long as you avoid going on Saints home game weekends, Mardi Gras, or during a festival weekend, the crowds aren't terrible. That being said, EVERYONE should do Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest at least once.

Loved the live music on Frenchmen St.
Loved the live music on Frenchmen St. Fine dining at Bayona in the French Quarter and brunch at Mr Ed's were wonderful. Peche in Lower Garden is a must. Perdido St is a perfect location and easy to walk to most places. For first-timers, Hop-on Hop-off bus is helpful to get your bearings. Walking tours of French Quarter and Lower Garden are good things to do as is the WWII Museum.

Wonderful, vibrant city.
Wonderful, vibrant city. The French Quarter is definitely ‘party central’🥳! Range of shops, lots of bars and restaurants and hotels to choose from. City tours and attractions available, fun and informative. We found everyone helpful and friendly. Sneaky Pete’s (bar), Blue Bayou (bar and restaurant), Crescent City Brewhouse, Zesty Creole, Fiery Crab … the list goes on. Big ‘shout out’ to Pizza Luna (great bar and pizzas) 👍🏻.

Loved the live music in the bars.
Loved the live music in the bars. Hated the plastic cups and paper plates and cutlery used so much, even in better cafes. After long waits to get in, long waits for service, which was often sloppy and careless. Top restaurants have lowered their standards, possibly a result of lockdown.
The room was perfect for two people on a 7 night stay. It had all the amenities needed as we tended to cook breakfast using the stove and toaster provided. It was spacious and fully stocked with towels, toilet roll, microwave, iron and ironing board. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the added bonus of a heated pool and hot tub were great touches.
The location is perfectly located in the middle of St Charles with easy access to the local streetcar or bus which works out at around 20-30 minutes to the French Quarter.
The One 11 is in a perfect location, easily walk-able to the main attractions of the French Quarter yet in a slightly quieter street.
The staff were warm and welcoming and our room was absolutely perfect. Staff were also knowledgeable about places to visit.
We came here for a brief rest after a road trip following our son's New Orleans wedding and it gave us just the relaxing home we needed. Should we return to New Orleans we'd love to visit again and try the pool (it was unseasonably cool during our time here).
The property is in a very central location, making it easy to get to the French quarter or the Garden District by foot.
The staff were extremely friendly and the units themselves were very nice and clean! Being able to use a code for our unit was a big plus so we didn’t have to deal with a physical key for such a large group.
All of our rooms had a bag of coffee which was a nice touch for the mornings, but there is a very good coffee shop right next to the hotel - Cafe Bon Ami.
My room was very spacious, modern and comfortable and both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The location on Canal street is on the edge of the French Quarter in a quieter area but the popular (and noisy) bars and restaurants are only a few blocks away. There is a streetcar stop outside the hotel so it is easy to get around. You have to request room servicing the night before. I actually preferred this since it avoids being disturbed when you don't need the room cleaned.
Amazing mattresses and the pillows are awesome...very comfy sleep! The location is great because it's on the fringe of the French Quarter -- we walked there and back -- and a quick cab ride to Garden District. Great restaurants are nearby (walking distance) as well. Love their Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich tradition everyday between 4PM - 5PM. Charming and Old World hotel. When you walk in the lobby, it feels like you're in a European grand hotel.
No cable tv, no phone, and no got water and no notification that parking is not available on the property. A third party parking option for $30 + dollars a day is your only option. Oh he entire state was literally the worst hotel visit I’ve ever had in my life. With a fiancé that’s expecting also no less we had to endure no hot water after an evening walking through the French Quarter. Thanks for great memories Holiday Inn Express of New Orleans.
Place D'Armes is a wonderful hotel tucked away in the heart of the French Quarter. We stayed in an interior room and it was completely quiet. So we slept well. The staff were helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay went well. It is housed in a very old building which added to its charm. If/when I get to come back to New Orleans, I will stay here again.
The location of this hotel is AMAZING just a short walk across Canal street and you are in the heart of New Orleans- 15 minutes to Jackson Square/Cafe Du Monde/The French Quarter.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the decor of the entire hotel was so well done- little details like the shower curtain were even considered. I would absolutely come back here again!
The hotel is located in the Warehouse District - a good location for accessing many parts of New Orleans on foot - including the WWII museum (5 min walk), Canal Street, Bourbon Street, the water front and the French Quarter (20 min walk). There are also some nice restaurants nearby for dinner and lunch.
Apartment is spacious, very clean, secure and really comfortable. Victor was really responsive and helpful whenever we had any questions/issues. All communications and use of the apartment were very smooth. Central position, walkable to both the french quarter, downtown and garden district.
Fantastic location in the heart of the French Quarter. We were able to walk everywhere for the three days we were in New Orleans. The hôtelier gave us some great restaurant recommendations close by and the bar attached had great music and cocktails. Comfy beds and good bathroom.
The room was very spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel is within waling distance (30 mins) from the Convention Center and close to the French Quarter. Service was prompt and professional. Would recommend for both business and leisure trips to New Orleans.
overall value, excellent location if you want all that New Orleans offers yet want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter but be within walking distance of city's best attractions and restaurants
Hotel is conveniently located near French Quarter and downtown attractions. The rooms are very comfortable, and the hotel itself is a good size for a comfortable stay. Hotel is also quite attractive.
Hotel is Fabulous! Staff was Friendly and helpful in every way! Million Dollar Location...convenient to everything in French Quarter but still quiet and relaxing. This will be my go to in New Orleans!
The location of this hotel is amazing. It is located in a very central location to get to everything New Orleans has to offer. Everything in the French Quarter is within walking distance
I didn’t like the French quarter much, it’s better for the younger crowd but we went on canal street and used the streetcars to see the garden district and also did a ferry trip
GREAT LOCATION! It’s a taste of the real New Orleans. Great place to stay if you want to be close to the French Quarter but not too close to it. It was perfect distance for us.
