We loved the property and the staff was so polite and helpful! We immediately went to our cottage and were very pleased, the cottage was very spacious and clean. We had our own deck and it felt very private. Great place to relax!
The outdoors were very pretty n pool area.the room & bathroom was nice n very clean.
The super old dirty looking furniture in the main lobby n the dirty corridor n stair rugs. Upon entering lobby it smells like old funeral home.
The grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff ( I believe it was the owner) followed my husband into the dining area to tell us where there would be a nice walk that we could take. She was so right. The pool is was just lovely. We stayed in the lodge and the bed was very comfortable and the decor was perfect.
The breakfast was perfect for me but my husband would have liked another selection of hot food. The gentleman that attended to the breakfast was not warm but he was very much on top of his job.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the location and restaurant are excellent.
As any English man I would have preferred an English breakfast
Everything . The staff were very helpful and pleasant . The breakfast and setting for it was wonderful .
The Lodge is a charming retreat....like a BIG hug! The staff was warm and friendly like old friends. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The superb dinning room is not to be missed.
We were short changed only by our Limited time to stay.
The rooms was a little outdated but it was very clean and comfortable.upgraded us so that made it much better. The pool was great and breakfast was good. we would come back here again..
The staff needed to be a little more friendly.
Great place for a weekend getaway.
Beautiful accomadations and spacious... Choices between patio and fireplace use... Great job including recreation like ping ping and tennis courts and swimming pool.... Thank you for including breakfast in the price
The restaurant had an excellent menu. The food was delicious! The Staff was very polite and professional. The cottage was very well kept and clean.
The pinehurst cottage has a very musty smell even after the windows being opened. The spa tub is a very nice option which we didn't enjoy because the water pressure was so low that it would take forever to fill up.
grounds were beautiful , restaurant and bar are great. we were in a room in the main inn and not one of the cottages which looked really cute.
room could use some updating. airconditioner is in wall and blows directly on your face when in the bed, on the plus side we could open the windows for some cool air
Beautiful property literally just minutes from shopping, casino, restaurants, nightlife, Camelback/Camelbeach and all the Poconos have to offer. Clear cabin, great staff and great value for the money.
Unfair question! Just be aware that this is not the Taj Mahal and while VERY clean and well maintained, it is an older property.
Grounds were very nice. Quaint and rustic Pocono lodge
Some things crossed the line from quaint and rustic to just plain worn out. Plugs falling out of the wall sockets. Water turning hot/cold on its own. Beds were OK but not great.
We liked the style of the hotel, liked the history behind it, the lobby was very nice, reception attendants were helpful and polite, like that they provided the firewood for our fireplace, easy to find and park. The restaurant had a diverse and colorful menu. our room was comfortable and spacious. We liked that they include continental breakfast.
We think the room can be updated without compromising the style, same thing with the restaurant. Some of the wall decor and curtains/wallpaper seem very outdated. Some curtains, lawn chairs, sofas are a little worn out or stained. They should also be more careful with the breakfast.. The cream for our coffee was greasy, the grapefruit juice seemed like it was starting to ferment, I found a dirty coffee cup and knife sitting among the clean ones.. I think the place should benefit from talking to a consulting firm about freshening up the hotel.
The lobby was very pretty and the breakfast was very good. Having 2 TVs in the cottage was nice. Our patio was pretty, with comfortable chairs, but not private, as you could see it in the restaurant.
The shower head was too low on the wall. My husband, who is 6'2, had to crouch down to wash his hair. All the signs about saving the earth by not getting sheets & towels washed were a little bit of a guilt trip. I get it, but I felt like the hotel staff might think of me as a jerk if I wanted clean sheets. It was our honeymoon....
friendliness of staff and good food
Loud table next to us at dinner, but that is no fault of the staff.
it was quiet the room was clean and staff was nice this place is for a couple that is looking to get away and just stay in the room and sleep or lock themselves in away from the world
not really anything to do in the area no flat screen it was an old tv the restaurant only stayed open until 9 breakfast was over at 11 being an out going person I wish there was more to do around the lodge
Very nice place to stay. The meals at the restaurant were excellent. We are looking forward to our return!
It was a cosy old lodge in the Poconos. Our room was clean and adequate. Everything worked fine, the tv, the WiFi. Breakfast was very nice, in a nice dining room, with juices, coffee, eggs, bacon, oatmeal.
Dinner in the restaurant was overpriced and not very good. I had French onion soup, which used crackers instead of French bread - so, of course, they were totally soggy - and mozzarella cheese instead of gruyere - so, of course, it did not have much flavor. Someone propped open the back door to the upstairs where the rooms are; so the security is pretty lacking when that happens. Probably is not much of an issue in this location.
The location,the Rooms,staff
The room needs a HDTV,a DVD player
I liked that the lodge was located in an area that was secluded and yet not very far away from everything else. I also liked the desk clerks, the restaurant manager and the simple yet elegant breakfast.
I did not like the way the housekeeping staff treated our room. We left towels on the tub and when we returned that night the towels were the same place. This happened again the next day and when we returned nothing was done in the room. Nothing.
Cell phone service is poor
The location. The fabulous area, furniture and décor at the entrance. Food was pretty good.
Artificial plants in the dining room. The sloppy clothing of the gentleman serving breakfast and no smiles. They should include egg white for breakfast and more variety of fruits.
Very clean and staff was friendly. Loved the shower water pressure and the jacuzzi water was nice and hot!
The decor was a bit outdated (like from the 80's).
