Everyone we encountered at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and good water pressure in the shower (my personal pet peeve when it's not). The kitchenette was an added bonus. Breakfast was good but a little limited if you're a picky eater. Because the weather was nice, we were able to eat outside on the front patio both mornings. The river walk was a nice diversion and Moody street was "interesting". Wish we would have had more time to explore the area.
Public transportation to the T stations was lacking on the weekends. Only options were to walk (2+ miles) or take a cab. The good news is the green line got us into Boston in 40 minutes and we never had to wait for a train longer than 5 minutes or so.
We have stayed here twice recently and will be back. We like the location and it is close to many things we do when in the Boston area. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. They have a washer/dryer in the building, but we did not use it this trip. They have a business center room for internet or printing boarding passes just like larger hotels. They also have a very nice breakfast with high end coffee/espresso/cappuccino machine where their staff makes your drink per your order. There is also a walking trail behind the hotel that borders the Charles River which is beautiful. They have ample free parking on the property as well. They also had some nice sweet snacks in the lobby (some homemade) as we checked in. We will definitely be back and recommend it. Overall a real welcoming feel about the hotel.
Occasionally a car alarm would go off in large parking area down by the old Waltham watch factory that had been converted to office space and apartments, but this is no fault of the hotel. The huge building is about a block from the hotel so this was not surprising considering the number of cars in the office lot. Neighborhood felt very safe, so not a safety issue.
Very clean, high level of room facilities and a full working kitchen. Felt like a home away from home after a month on the road. Vey good breakfast.
The location was not brilliant but with a car you could get to trains to Boston or to shops and restaurants.
We enjoyed our recent stay and will go back. We had a room on 4th (top) floor and it was very well appointed and quiet. There is a walking path behind the hotel beside the river that we were unable to use due to weather but look forward to using it next time.
Beautiful room, breakfast Well served.
The connecting to the subway, Riverside station should be reported on map and website
The bedding was excellent quality. Location perfect for our visit to Boston. Very roomy accommodations. Friendly staff.
Noise outside our window rather early in the morning. Slippery shower floor tiles.
It was immaculately maintained. Attention to detail evident. Nice size room. Generous kitchen.
The breakfast, cappuccinos, staff, location.
Thin walls, loud neighbor kept us up till 2am
Staff Rooms Breakfast
My daughter and I were visiting local universities and chose to stay outside of Boston and were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was huge and very comfortable.
This was a hotel that had the feel of a bed-and-breakfast. The hotels location, tucked away on a side street, a very convenient access to both I-95 and the Mass. turnpike . The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was quiet and have a fitness room . Behind the hotel was a park, the Charles River, and a kayak launch. The friendly owner made an authentic Italian espresso on a $10,000 Rancilio machine.
That the owner is an experienced traveler shows in the design and function of the Crescent Hotel. It was a wonderful find! We hope we have opportunities to stay there again. We even took a short walk down along the Charles River from the lovely park area by the parking in back. Breakfast was excellent as well, including the latte.
will not go again
Everything; it's a hidden jewel among the places you can stay in suburban Boston. I especially liked the cappuccinos in the morning and the complementary newspaper.
Very minor point, but the outlets in my room didn't seem to be firmly seated in their receptacles and the plugs didn't always stay connected, meaning either lights wouldn't go on or cellphone wouldn't charge.
Location a bit out of the way.
Room close to the Maids room. Noise from the washing machine in the room. Also noise from the next door neighbors. Almost possible to follow the conversation. Guy at the front desk -when I arrived- knew little to nothing of the area. Breakfast food not up to standard.
The appliances in the room made too much noise.
Wonderful service, nice room, great breakfast.
Really enjoyed my stay...liked everything.
Clean and quiet are my two biggies. CSH was both. What amazed me was the level of service. Breakfast was wonderful with specialty coffees and real eggs. The owner and the managers and staff were so gracious and helped with everything we needed. Thank you for providing a memorable stay for us and our kids from Waltham. You even let the kids (4 of them) have a gratis breakfast with us twice. With hot chocolate. WOW!
I can't think of anything I didn't like. We had a handicap accessible room and the shower leaked all over the floor, but I'm not sure what can be done about it. I felt bad using so many towels to mop up! Next time I'll ask for a normal room. and perhaps get a sofa or loveseat. I missed that.
I was pleasantly surprised, Michael, the owner, has traveled extensively and has brought all of his experience into the Crescent Suites Hotel. I would highly recommend it. It's ideal for any traveler.
Genuine courtesy and excellent customer service.
Had to leave too early..... be back.
