Complimentary glasses of wine and friendly attention received from people
Very comfortable. We had the pleasure of having Elk on the property.
It was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's in a beautiful area!
The mattresses need to be upgraded- not very comfortable.
We came into town having been to Enumclaw then up to Sunrise for a hike. The following day we were well placed to go back into the NP and up to Paradise. We said good-bye and then drove to the Eastern entrance to Mount St. Helens. We appreciated the two glasses of wine each, each evening, with which we were supplied by our amiable hosts
The couple who manage the lodge are delightful, welcoming and friendly. The evening glasses of wine, two being local, we're an unexpected extra but most welcome. We saw some elk in the town and a deer behind the lodge.
Good location, comfort, nice people and enjoyed the offering of wine in early evening. Nice to see the elk feasting on fallen fruit on adjacent land behind the lodge. We would definitely stay there again.
This place was very quiet and had a friendly staff. The continental breakfast was very nice (eggs, sausage, waffles, huge and pastries). The rooms were very comfortable and clean.
The only con I found was that they only had a soda machine and no snack vending machine. Also a change machine would have been nice since the soda machine only took ones and all we had were fives, but the front desk was more than happy to break the fives for us.
Very friendly family run motel. Great value for money. Added bonus was two glasses of wine which we drank outside at a table & watched elk grazing nearby.
Newer property, staff very friendly & helpful, complimentary wine, separate vanity from tub/shower. Breakfast was good though cramped room. Free parking, well lit.
Cramped breakfast room. Outside town not close to food services.
It was a clean well kept place with updates. The breakfast was satisfying. The location outside of Mt. Rainier Park was very convenient.
The beds were not the most supportive. I had read about the complimentary wine, but when we got there , we were told we were a half hour late for that, though I still saw the wine bottle on the counter.
Compared to other places available in the Packwood area, this facility was great! Recently renovated and clean. Microwave, coffee maker and small fridge in room. Staff was cordial. Breakfast had waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, rolls, fruit, etc. plus we were given complimentary glasses of wine in the evening! Good location for getting into Mt. Rainier Park.
Only restaurants for dinner were a couple burger/pizza places. Cliffdropper had good burgers. Not much to do in Packwood except go into Mt. Rainier N.P.
Free glass of wine!
Excellent location for visiting both paradise and sunrise- 1h from paradise visitor center and 75 min from sunrise visitor center. Resident Elk herd- you will see them on the road and around the hotel Upscale furnishings-marble counter, good tv, nice dresser. Decent hot breakfast, free wine nightcap.
Curtains didn't block morning sun very well, couldn't sleep past 7am in summer. Staff was slightly less polished than typical for hotels- a "mom and pop" operation. Friendly but not smooth. No good restaurants in Packwood. Bring food with you in a cooler or eat a few towns over at Copper Creek Inn.
We just moved to this area and needed a place to stay before we could move into our new home. We loved our stay here. My kids especially liked watching the elk eat from the fruit trees out in the back. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great
We stayed 2nights during our vacation in WA and the service we recieved was excellent. Clean rooms and bed was very comfy.
Little social hour, nice size rooms.
Hotel - nothing. Packwood needs a few more evening meal options in the summer.
Best in room coffee on this 4000 mile trip. K-cup coffee machine in room. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast was very delicious.
Few restaurants nearby.
Staff is very nice and friendly. The price is right and affordable. Locates just outside Mt. Rainier National Park.
The location is quiet and peaceful since the motel is away from the highway. Wide parking spaces so you do not have to worry about door dings. The hotel and rooms and bathroom are all very clean. This motel would be one of my favorites except for the awful beds.
The beds are very sagging and extremely uncomfortable. Bring your own pillows as the ones they have are not good.
Very friendly staff ... room change was no problem
rooms facing street are pretty loud all night long
Location was good for Mt. Rainier & Mt. St. Helen. Facility was clean, had real cups & glasses in the room. Staff person was really friendly.
All comforts, good wifi, nice breakfast, in very remote setting near Mt. Rainier
The breakfast selection was fresh and introduced us to the magic of making your own waffles. Add to that the view which we had on the patio with a feeding station for hummingbirds: superb! Also the staff on hand was very friendly and down to earth. Linda is lovely! The room was spacious and clean.
If we would have any negative point it would be that we found the lodge hard to find at first, which is really a complaint towards our own lack of navigation savy (driving in the US for just the first day). It is located just outside of main Packwood on your right when you come from the Mt Rainier side.
