I noticed that since I last stayed the property was a little worn. The fountains in the front were off- and well, the elevators were slower than before. Also, I asked in my reservation request while booking online and when I arrived at the hotel for a room that did not face the highway and that was quiet, but the hotel clerk insisted that I had a quiet room when I arrived, yet when I came into the room I was facing the very busy I-10W highway and every night felt annoyed by the sound of cars zooming by. I was just way too tired to go downstairs and change my room, so I bit the bullet, but being raised as the daughter of a hotel General Manager for a full service hotel, I know that this probably made a huge difference in how I enjoyed my stay, and diminishes the likelihood of a return. Also, I booked an executive floor room, which gave me access to the executive floor evening food and drinks. The layout was messy and pretty gross to me. They had 2 liter soda bottles and a container with the food, but it did not feel sanitary nor executive in anyway. I would suggest that the hotel invest in can or bottled beverages, and also more signs and welcoming environment in this area. Also, the location was not as ideal as I thought it had been, but it was okay. I would like to say though that this property was better than a lot of other properties I have stayed in during the last year, but it was far from what it had been a year and a half ago. I'm hoping that it can improve as I know its potential.
I did like the staff, the bed and facilities were standard and good. The breakfast was the best part as I am a celiac and was relieved to find an array of fresh cut fruit. They also prepared a custom fresh omelet for you. I was able to secure a late checkout and they also remembered me in their system from my last stay, which was about a year or so ago so it was a nice added touch.
