Built inside of a historic train repair shop, this hotel features an indoor pool and hot tub. Cable TV with HBO is provided in every room, and the Xcel Energy Center is 5 miles away.

This historic hotel 1910 hotel has been serving the Twin City area for generations and overlooks Rice Park. The charm extends to the guest rooms, which offer plush bedding and a minibar.

Score from 29 reviews Good
The location was wonderful with the skywalk so accessible.
The hotel was under construction and that wasn't optimal. We felt that after the renovation is finished it will be much better. We couldn't get the thermostat below 65 degrees F at night and we felt it was a bit warm for sleeping.
The staff was very helpful at check-in and very apologetic of the condition of the hotel.
The hotel is under serious construction. The entire lobby had been gutted. We stayed there for the pool, which they had actually torn down and are not rebuilding. A huge disappointment for our 5-year old. They should not host guests while under construction.
The valet service was nice
My hotel room was not worth the money I spent for it. My room was next to some meeting or conference area and there was a wedding going on. We didn't get out breakfast tickets till we checked out and we were wanting breakfast but by then we were ready to leave
The staff was great as well as the location
It would have been nice to know that the place was undergoing remodeling and that the pool was closed.
The location is very good being right by the river providing excellent views and access to everything we wanted to do.
The facility is under renovations and the transition to another brand was, as yet, incomplete. The lighting in the rooms was a bit difficult to use. Also, we like to sleep at a low temperature (63 degrees), but we were unable to get the thermostat lowered below 65. It seemed warmer than that.
As an artist I particularly appreciated the stylized photos of St Paul around the hotel an in my room! Although I consider myself to be a regular schmo, I was made to feel like a true VIP!
Can't think of anything negative.
Room views of city. Excellent breakfast, very good value for our stay. Staff welcoming and special thanks to Jeff at check in and Chef Jailen.
Hotel is being renovated so there is construction going on in the daytime, but all all available rooms are new.
The room was too modern and we couldn't get the room to cool off. It was too hot.
The front desk was very helpful whenever we needed anything. The banquet staff was wonderful, and the housekeeping staff also helped with questions and carrying items. Overall great experience.
Breakfast, view from window
air conditioning, it's really cold without powerful air conditioner.
Recently renovated room with comfortable bed and great amenities.
We were only staying one night :-(
FOOD! Order sausage got bacon. Order eggs over easy were hard.
I and my husband had driven from Chicago, and arrived at 5:00 pm.We check in too find that the hotel was under construction and had no swimming pool!!! On top of that...The hotel night manager was very rude and disrespectful to us! The only upside the breakfast staff was "Exceptional" I would definitely travel to eat breakfast there:) but never stay again.
Very nice rooms. Big room with a great view.
The staff did a great job, considering the amount of problems we had with this stay, but it wasn't enough to make this a good experience.
Bookings.com said this facility had a pool and whirlpool. The hotel was under renovation, and the pool was taken out. This was very misleading, and adversely affected our stay. We hoped to get Sunday brunch at the hotel's restaurant, and although their brunch advertised a carving station, there was none in action on the Sunday of our stay. We also had requested a queen sized bed and were booked into a room with two beds. We were moved into another room, but it was very small and inadequate.
Good location, friendly staff
Bed was wore out, small room at a high end price, Wi Fi was very very very slow, the hotel listed a pool and Hot Tub which it did not have, it was removed, most if not all of the vending machines were either out of order or were empty
Loved the size of our room and the view. The add on breakfast fee was minimal and it was a fantastic meal choice with extremely friendly staff. The location was perfect for our event at the Excel Energy Center. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Loved the onsite Starbucks!
Our room was very cold and could not get it to warm up. The refrigerator hummed to the point that we had to unplug it. The bathroom was difficult to utilize because of the poor layout.
advertised a swimming pool, no longer have one
Breathtaking Mississippi river view. Friendly staff. Very good WiFi connection. Was there for a Pearl Jam show and the venue was just within a 2min-walking distance.
Weird blankets, room superhot during the night. But overall good experience. St.Paul is a lovely city.
The whole room n bathroom was amazing
Nothing at all
Only a short walk to the XCel center Great front desk personnel Despite the remodeling everything seemed spotless.
This isn't much, but the bed comforters were a bit heavy
I checked in late at night and out early the next morning. The room was clean and I got a good night's sleep before my court appearance the next day.
Nothing to report.
Sleep Number Bed Amazing View Accommodating Staff Quiet Bottled Water
Carpet seemed a little worn out Odd location of toilet
I really want to let the manager/owner know how awesome Jeff (front desk) and Jim (engineering) were. They both exceeded our expectations in sincere customer service by personally seeing that we had what we needed. The vending machines weren't working and they made sure we had waters and an awesome pizza. The building needs repairs but your people more than made up for our impression. I reach Service Excellence at Mercy Hospital to new employees and will be using your staff as a great example. thank you
