I booked the room with a view of Broadway. When we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready. We were there after 3pm and no later than 5pm. We were asked if we would accept a different room. My husband, not having made the reservation, said ok. We were given a room overlooking roofs of buildings and facing two other buildings. Needless to say it was a disappointment. We were given room 38/18 if you care to check it. The hotel was fine, but it left me with a feeling that someone else wanted a room with a view and we were pushed aside for someone else's priority. I called the hotel to discuss this with accounting, thinking that the downgrade would require some change in pricing. Even though someone was going to look into it....no phone calls have been received. I am disappointed.

Location is perfect Even if room with 2 double beds (for 3 persons) had been booked 3 months before, for 4 nights, with city view, in the upper concierge level (so highest price), we discovered on arrival that our room only had one bed. The only other option possible has been a corner room with one king bed and little additional side bed, only shower , no bath in bathroom, and no times square view (option that had made our decision for this hotel). Even if situated in 42nd floor we had to pay for Wifi, and breakfast. Even if manager on reception did his best to find a solution for us, he also explained that "city view" doesn't mean "times quare view": this option only exists through their own reservation site. Definitively not worth the price,

The service was of a very good standard and the food high quality but expensive but New York is. Our specific bedroom was a very good size (which is something I had checked out thoroughly before booking) but as a warning bedrooms is some hotels are very very small. The Bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows excellent. Location is superb for theatre goers - very easy walking distance. We had two dissapointments on our stay at the hotel. 1. For a quality hotel like Crowne Plaza to not have any tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom is very surprising. We fortunately took our own travel electic kettle and adaptor. 2. We had expected a wider range of resturants in the hotel and to be limited to only one along with bedroom service was not what we had expected. The food though was of a very good standard with prices pretty similar to what you find in the surrounding area of Times Square. 3. Hotels in New York do not seem to cater for full size baths that we are used to in the UK. Dont expect to stretch out. We would recommend the hotel but thoroughly check the size of the room you are booking.

The location was very good, being right in Times Square. The room was clean, and they brought us a welcome gift of fruit and water shortly after we got in our room. However, they brought refreshments for 2 people even though we had 6 people staying in the suite. This was the most unorganized hotel I've ever stayed in. I've never complained about a hotel stay, but my husband and I were so upset that we did have words with the manager. To summarize, we had to sit in the lobby for 2 hours past the check in time because they weren't sure if our room was ready or not. They kept telling us they were sending someone to check on it. Then they said they would give us a complimentary breakfast to compensate for the wait, and we told them that the breakfast was already included in our room. They argued and said that it wasn't included. Later we brought them the voucher from booking.com which verified the breakfast. Then, they lost our luggage tickets for us to claim our bags since we were in the city before check in time. That became quite an ordeal after waiting the 2 hours to get into the room. Then, another hotel worker said that the room had been ready on time after all, so we waited around for nothing. The hotel staff couldn't even tell us where to go for the included breakfast, we got different answers from everyone we asked. It was very frustrating!

Excellent location. We had a beautiful, large corner room with two windows overlooking Times Square. It was pleasantly quiet in the room, comfortably furnished, lovely colours, great beds. Most of the staff were friendly, especially the Concierge staff were extremely helpful in guiding us to various places. Generally, we can highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We did not get a room as high up as we had asked for. Breakfast is too expensive. We used to eat out in one of the bakeries/cafés nearby.

Location in Times Square perfect. Well, multiple bed bug bites on 2nd night of stay Room 2815. It happens but not really expected in this pricey of a room. At least I can now say The Bed Bugs do bite in Dominican Republic and nyc. I knew I was at risk in dr sleeping on filthy mattress on Medical Mission but this was a little unexpected despite the prevalance of the bugs in nyc.md

The location of the hotel was the best. We had to move 3 times to get to the time square room view we requested. The first time she said she did not know we requested a time square view, the second time she put us in a water view because she thought we might like that better, the third time I told her we only wanted a time square view just like we reserved. We were promised breakfast vouchers because we had to move so many times but they were never delivered.

3 day business trip to Manhattan. I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. This hotel does not disappoint. Great service and a perfect location especially if you are new to Manhattan. A very friendly staff at all levels. About 10 min walk to Central Park on the north, and you are right in the center of Times Square. The room was clean and spacious by NYC standards. A/C and heating worked fine. Rooms are from the 16th floor and above so this really helps with street noise. I was on the 19th and slept like a baby. I'll be back again the next time I am in the City.

The view out the window of Times Square. We had a corner room and the view was spectacular. The beds were comfortable. Upon checking in they gave us a downgraded room from what we had reserved but were charging us for the room type we had reserved (they gave us a standard room while the charges were for the corner room). We did get the corner room as reserved but had to come down, point it out to front desk that the room they put us in was not a corner room and request the type of room we had reserved and was reflected on the paperwork they had us sign on check in. Also, the check-in person never apologized, just acted surprised, "Oh, it isn't?" 3 am in the morning, not what you want to hear. Also, the way they did the holds on my credit card made my credit company think it was some sort of fraudulent activity so blocked my card. The hotel staff submitted differing amounts multiple times, adding up to almost twice what the entire time would cost.

I really liked the staff at the hotel. They were all friendly and very helpful without exception. I also felt they enjoyed working at the hotel as they all seemed genuinely happy and helpful. The location is great, very central to the theatre district and the metro. I have stayed here in 1997 and will keep coming back. I also felt it was great value for money. The only thing I feel needs to improve is the signage. Its hard to spot and we walked past the hotel a couple of times.

Great location!!! We orginally booked another hotel that turned out to be inacceptable, (the Pennsylvania to not name it!) so we checked immediately out and looked for another one, I only wished I went straight here from the very beginning only negative point: the swimming pool is a pool with swimming lanes exclusively.

Location, location, location. The Crown Plaza is located right in Time Square. It was in walking distance to all the Broadway shows that we had booked, in fact one of the shows was right across the street. We had a great view of the Time Square area from our room. Also there were to Starbucks on the same block..easy to get a great cup of coffee & Wi-fi. We walked to Rockerfeller Center & NBC...both on 49th Avenue like the Crowne Plaza. The Crowne was also walking to distance to Juniors, Bar American, & other great restaurants. The bathroom didn't have good ventilation. There was condesation all over everything, even the bathroom mirror & door, & it took a long time for it the clear up. The water would run at extreme temperatures. Sometimes cold for a long time, sometimes hot for along time with no in between. I would recomment this hotel with caution regarding the plumbing.

The hotel room was extremely spacious even though we were 4 girls sharing a room. The views from our corner room were amazing. We were centrally located for shopping, subways, shows, etc. I think that the hotel should include a small bar fridge in the rooms

We have stayed in New York on several occasions and in different hotels and this was the best hotel to date. It was on Times Square and central to everything. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable with a great view. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent central location, right at the heart of things. Held an excellent New Years Eve gala dinner with subsequent access to Times square, at a price. Rooms were comfortable and reasonably sized for a city hotel. Our bathroom needed upgrading - furniture was old and badly marked/scratched. Staff were largely indifferent and sent us from one desk to the next for information. They could have been much more helpful.
