Excellent price. Safe neighbourhood with several food options, including supermarket next door. Comfortable bed. Airport shuttle.
Postage stamp size swimming pool. Overpriced breakfast buffet
What a great boutique hotel in a great location. Clean, modern, yet still holds onto the the building's past. Simple, many amenities. Will stay again for sure.
I wish it was free.
Close to LAX but minimal aircraft noise. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Close to cafes, restaurant's and bus route to the beach. Nice pool and bar. Much nicer than the bigger airport hotels.
The position - close to airport and the value.
Tissues in the room would be great.
Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Free airport shuttle.
Location was pretty convenient with a range of places to eat within walking distance. Complimentary airport transfer.
Access with a vehicle difficult to navigate to drop off bags. Bed not as good as the beds we had got use to whilst travelling around USA. Smaller futon style.
I liked this hotel - the room was a little quirky in its design but well thought out with a contemporary feel rather than conventional hotel stile. There is a nice coffee shop a fewyyeards away and a stylish bar serving great beer and food just around the corner. Parking in the road next to the hotel (near the bar - which is called '5' by the way) was completely unrestricted so its a great location and not too far from the airport either. Staff were friendly and Wi-Fi was free and worked well.
not very much...it would be nice if they cleaned the outside of the windows but its a tall building so perhaps this is difficult/expensive.
Slept just fine, probably the most rest I've gotten in years.
Forced to pay for valet. Hated paying $27 for valet, I'd say either let me do it myself or make it cheaper.
Position, friendly stuff
The bed was firm and windows opened. Good toiletries and coffee. Sheets were uber soft
Only one regular coffee for two people. Furniture sat a little bit low for adult humans. Valet cost $27 and my rental car was damaged by the valet. A long, deep scrape was on the passenger side front fender. Wasn't there the night before when we arrived at the Custom.
Location was great as it was near to LAX, and the shuttle service was excellent.
I arrived late at night with my partner only to find a rude receptionist replying that she cannot find my booking after checking several times. I gave her my printed booking confirmation and she replied - sorry can't find it, without giving a solution. I then told her I booked the reservation via booking.com, then only did she manage to find the booking. Still her attitude, lack of customer service was just a downer, especially that late in the night when all we wanted was a bed to sleep in. Secondly, the hotel doesn't come with room service - really unexpected given that it's a business hotel. So if you expect a warm meal to be delivered to your room after 11pm, forget about it. Restaurants around the area were closed too, and thankfully we found a 24-hour Subway nearby to fill our stomachs.
I like the design of the hotel, it's very quirky which you'd expect as it was designed by the same architect who came up with the Capitol Records building. Also the parking assistants were great. It's close to the airport if that's important to you.
Probably the worst of the JDR hotels, very shabby and in desperate need of a refresh. Plug sockets hanging off walls, broken exposed wires, damaged plaster that has been poorly patched up. Also if you don't have a car, then forget about going anywhere, it's too far from anything but the airport. Also it's not that cheap.
Location, decor, location, location, value for the money
Late wake up call. elderly mother almost missed the 6:00 am airport shuttle.
Location was okay, easy enough to travel to sites by car. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and welcoming. Coffee is available in the room by means of a coffee maker, we found this very useful. Wifi was good, room was basic but comfortable. We would use this hotel again.
When we tried to arrange for the free shuttle service when we landed we dialled the number and chose option 2 as you are told to. The phone rang until finally it went to answering machine asking us to leave a message. Not what you want to hear after an 11hour flight! We ended up paying for a taxi, we couldn't be sure the message would get passed on if we left one.
decent airport hotel pool with bar free airport shuttles to n fro
lobby computers & printer services are not free $50 per night hold on your card for incidentals, this was done without my knowledge. lighting in the gents was way too dark
Good clean comfortable hotel. Lovely beds and good restaurant and bar.
Not much around, thought it was closer to nice beach area.
the room was too small the wifi signal was poor unless you pay extra
Hotel was loud at night and could not sleep
Recepcion staff very kind. Common area like the deck 33 restaurant is enjoyable. Room are spacious.
Shuttle service to the hotel was a disaster we had to wait ONE HOUR AND A HALF and phone 3 times to be picked up. Very bad. Once we arrived at the hotel the answer of the shuttle service manager to our complain was "mistakes may occur" ... Such an answer !!!
convenient to all very modern great breakfast in general great staff and very courteous. Had one rude conversation with one staff member on phone but the other staff were far superior.
Room was very comfortable and clean, all staff were very helpful and I found the location great. The shuttle to the airport was also very useful.
No hair dryer
I stayed there for 3 days on weekend. Location is perfect, hotel also got a small pool included in room price. Even though its near to airport you dont have any noise issue. Bed was also comfortable.
So now the worst part... As I checked in there in the late evening, they gave me a Handicap Room and that room was not clean. Bathroom was horrible dirty. As i took shower, the whole bathroom was almost flooded as their was wall or partition between shower part and rest of the bathroom. Next day I got a new room, and late at night toilet flush was not working. I had to call plumber at 4am. AC was not cooling properly, lots of humidity in room. As a compensation the management gave me a night for free. I will avoid this hotel on my next visit to LA.
The room was clean and minimalistic, which if fine for a one-night stay.
The air conditioner vent is directed at the bed and makes sleeping a frosty ordeal. We had to put a towel over the event to properly direct the cold air flow. The queen bed was not queen-size.
Staff were very friendly and very accomodating
Bed and pillows too soft need more pillows in room
