The staff might have been the best part - they were so friendly & polite! We had a balcony in our comfortable king room & the view was incredible.
The water wasn't super hot the first day (maybe it was time of day) and there was no way to adjust the temperature of the room.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were quaint but classy. Loved the balcony. The in-room wine selection was pretty neat. I'll definitely come back to experience more of what they have to offer.
The windows (25th floor) looked like that hadn't been washed in quite some time. This was very disappointing as it spoiled the view a bit and ruined the photos we tried to take.
The view from our corner room was quite excellent. Everything about the room felt luxurious and helped set the mood for our romantic night.
Awesome property with very nice amentities for a great price!
I liked the uniqueness of the hotel, and especially the rooms. Great view out our balcony.
The room was really small
The staff was great and very helpful
no bad experiences, I would recommend this place and would stay again when I visit Chicago.
the rooms were well appointed and modern. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about area. I tested their knowledge and there service was attentive to me and my family.
First, I am a middle-aged mom who stays at the Dana when I visit my daughter. Noise is the biggest problem for me at the Dana--it has a popular nightclub on roof which means that if your room is on one of the top floors, expect to hear the bass thumping until 2AM (although the view is nice), & the rooms don't have great sound insulation, so you might find yourself woken up by late-night revelers trying to find their way back to their rooms.
Located 3 blocks from Michigan Ave, 25 min walk to Millennium Park, across the street from Whole Foods, Flywheel, & Pure Barre. They recently freshened up the place (new mattresses, furniture, tvs). Restauant downstairs is very good, free wifi, and staff is very nice, especially the very sweet doormen, who are the same fellows I have seen over the past 5 years. I have stayed at the Dana at least 10 times, so I do recommend it--just ask for a quiet room if you go to bed early (before 11PM).
I didn't like the fact that no staff greeted me beyond the valet guy at check in, they did not instruct me on how to use the elevator key & when someone did, it didn't work; they put me in the wrong room on the 11th floor at first and when I refused to stay in that room; especially since I called ahead to reconfirmed my reservation, they put me in the right type of room on the 6th floor even though I requested a higher room in the pre-selection process. They also lied about the view of the supposed glass shower wall that looks into the bedroom as it is not only blocked off by an amour - but a WALL as well. The room itself was dark & dingy & looked as if some shot spitballs in various places throughout the entire ceiling. With all the millennials running about, I felt like I spent 4-star prices for a dorm-like experience. I was so angry because of the non refundable clause, that I couldn't get comfortable, packed up 30-minutes after arriving & valeting my car, and left - NEVER TO RETURN!! And I'm still waiting on my incidentals
Had to tell the maid to make the room at 5PM. Not many choices for breakfast.
Good location-pleasant staff. Good room with balcony on top floor. Quiet.Good value. Staff offered $10 off breakfast per person for last two days. Would recommend.
I didn't appreciate the attitude of a few of the female employees in regards to the nightclub. I also would prefer a little more variety in the DJ's music choice. It seemed like ALL techno versions and sometimes we just want to hear the ACTUAL songs mixed. Other than that, I loved the property.
I loved the decor. Everything about the hotel from the lobby to the room was fantastic. The wood floors, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the shower overlooking the bedroom... PHENOMENAL! I loved the modern, but still comfortable feel. All employees I came in contact with had fantastic customer service skills with the exception of a few in the nightclub. Overall, this property is definitely on my list of Chicago properties as we visit often. Next time we will try out the spa as we didn't get a chance this visit.
Room was too hot and fan didn't work. We tried to open balcony door but then we could hear people up at the bar which was a few floors above us.
Staff was super nice
Staff wasn't much help when it came to figuring out a check in problem. Also highly dislike that room cleaning started bothering us at 10 we told them we weren't ready because our check out wasn't till noon, then again they proceeded to come by two more times, finally decided to get up and leave because I felt I was being rushed out. I had early check in and wasn't able to do so until after 3pm, that just looks bad.
We had stayed here before and it was a great experience but this last time there was an issue with the hot water on the morning of our checkout. I called guest services to find out my options and was told they will check with their manager and call me back but that never happened.
The location is excellent and the design of the room is elegant and modern with a welcoming touch. The window wall into the shower gives it a naughty but nice Vegas feel.
checkout, my visa card did not work, MY mistake, person after me same problem ... when retry it worked ... no excuses, pitty
comfortable room with good bed, shower ok and on a good location, restaurant breakfast facilities splendid
An amazing hotel. Great Staff, great location, beatiful room with everything including balcony with the best city view.
I totally enjoyed the friendly staff & location of the hotel. Staff was very responsive.
Not for family with young kids, too many bars and drunk around very noisy!
Bed is so comfy location is great!
The parking definitely is expensive in the area, no complaints about the actual hotel though.
For the price.... I thought this would be a simple room, yes the room is on the smaller side... but for downtown Chicago, this room couldnt be beat! Wood floors, very nice bathroom, comfortable CLEAN bed and a nice view - couldn't ask for much more.
Bathroom was super small.i had a corner sweet.the black out blinds didnt work on few windows and had to sleep with light coming in.the heat was coming on and off and it was very loud.made me wake up every time it turned on.blinds were very old and broken. yhe noice of the st was horible u Could hear every car going by or police or anything. Not good at all
I liked the view. I thinks thats all
We were in Chicago for our 2 year wedding anniversary and I have to say for how much we paid it was a perfect night! Will be going back this summer (:
