The manager/front desk man is extremely intrusive. My boyfriend is a smoker, I'm not, but we always go with nonsmoking rooms as I can't tolerate the smell indoors. I reserved a nonsmoking room as per usual, but the manager, who apparently makes a habit of sniffing his guests, kept asking if we smoked, I replied no, but he asked again and again until my boyfriend admitted that he was a smoker, as if it were some criminal offense. The manager than told us 5 times to not smoke in the room and said that he would put a "special note to his cleaning person to clean the bedspread", as though we were going to stink up the place. I responded, " don't you normally clean the bedspreads after guests checkout?" He responded, "No, not usually." This was followed with a personal anecdote, "smoking kills." Not only were we subjected to invasive, unnecessary questions, but it was off putting to then sleep in a bed with a dirty bedspread that likely hadn't been washed for a long time. Breakfast was non existent one morning and a pathetic display of stale cereal, instant coffee and old bulk muffins from Walmart the next morning.
