Smell--- The room was always smelling of Tobacco smoke . Rooms should be sprayed with odor repellent -- room freshener every day.

The place was hard to find, and when I called to ask for directions I couldn't even get a direct answer. None of our taxi drivers could find the place either.

The only items we liked were the comfortable beds and free breakfast, and the staff was pleasant. The rooms were not very clean, the elevator was disgustingly dirty and smelled like smoke. The carpets were very dirty especially in the hallways. Also the locationed was very poor...even though they advertise as downtown, they are actually located approx. 1.5 miles from downtown, and in order to get to the downtown you have to travel through over a mile of vacant delapidated buildings, many of which are falling down. We did not feel safe in that area of town. Also, I had called the hotel directly to add 1 day at the beginning of the reservation as well as an extra day at the end. When we went to pay they charged us $139.99 per night for the 3 conference nights Sept. 20th, 21st, and 22nd, rather than the $109.99 which was the price that had been confirmed through our booking with you. I have made a complaint with the head office of DAYS Inn and they are looking into it. Overall not a very good experience for our first visit to St. Louis.......

The man at the desk was very friendly. The price was right. The hotel seemed relatively new. The location was in a very scary part of town. One of our outlet recepticles was hanging out of the wall. Our bathroom was not clean when we got there, so we had to ask the maid service to clean it. When someone told a worker that they were out of regular coffee at breakfast he said there was regular coffee in the decaf container. I have a heart condition and am not supposed to drink caffeine. I thought I was drinking decaf!!
