The staff at the check in desk were extremely friendly and helpful. This makes all the difference. We were able to walk to the sea front and to the touristy city sights.Restaurants were also easy to access.
The outside of the building does not reflect the inside.
The price and availability
Would normally prefer a more boutique-style Hotel with a more luxurious feel.
Hotel is within walking distance (10-20 mins) of gaslamp district, San Diego bay and amtrak station. Rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Free breakfast is pretty good but standard bagels, cereals, coffee, juice etc. Price is reasonable. I would stay here again.
There is only one elevator and its kinda slow. Also the elevator smells a bit like wet dog...
-The location not far from the airport -room facility such as refrigerator, microwave, iron, etc -nice breakfast - Front desk staff service -Clean room
super friendly, very clean and close to the center.
Close to downtown and Gaslamp District. (Walkable). Room was clean. AC worked well. Simple Breakfast Included
Breakfast Room was small and Breakfast offered was simple, but fine... Cereals, danishes, Coffee & Bananas. (Better than some hotels, but cheap basic food). Was more of an older Motel Style vs Hotel, but San Deigo weather makes this not a big deal.
Location, good staff, clean rooms
A little scary getting into the parking lot but that's downtown San Diego... glad I had a small car!
Close to Gaslamp Distritct
Small rooms Not many amenities
Free upgrade because the room we had was not available. Staff really really nice! I would actually stay there again for the price!
Great location. Excellent value. Clean spacious rooms.
Parking lot is very small
large room and very clean especially for the price. walking distance to both gaslamp and zoo.
wifi kept dropping out which was especially annoying in the morning when i was trying to plan my day
Paying for parking
Location is great Staff were nice Clean facilities Easy check in
Building is dated, could use some sprucing up.
The rooms were spotless and staff very helpful Close to everything like transport zoo etc feel very safe walking around downtown loved the gas lamp area
Having to pay extra fro parking I must of missed that on the booking
the bed was like sleeping on a cloud
Location Price Free breakfast
Lighting in room was poor (this seems standard in USA due pathological aversion to downlights, or indeed any lights bar lamps).
THe towels, tv, free wifi
High cost due to comic con. Not worth $399 per night. No pool. The shampoo was not the best. The view sucked.
Except for the carpet, the room was clean and the staff friendly. The wifi worked without a hitch and the bed was comfortable.
The exterior is in poor shape and every time I got on the elevator I held my breath because of the smells and the noise it made. In places, the carpet in the room wa spongey. I wouldn't count on the continental breakfast. They didn't even have OJ. Just some fruit punch juice box.
Old building. Elevator stunk. Needs a remodeling for such a nice area. But i guess the whole town is hit and miss for nice places. I figure if they remodeled it would cost even more to stay.
Linens were clean and there was a mini fridge and microwave. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Old building and fixtures. Toilet wouldn't stop running and the elevator was quirky.
Room was spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet, perfect temperature and very quiet air conditioning. Good size refrigerator. Breakfast was well stocked, and items replaced as they ran low - even though breakfast time was almost at an end. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful.
High prices for ComicCon, but that was the case for almost every hotel.
Clean. Good location near ComicCon's shuttle route. Adequate, clean facilities in my budget even at the increased ComicCon rate. Hotel felt like they cared--extra candy and toothbrush, etc. already laid out.
Didn't feel very secure. Night clerk gave off a strange vibe. Room was cramped and old. Strange elevator. Water pressure in the shower was poor.
I really disliked how the gentleman at the reception desk basically blamed me for the fact that my roommate wasn't allowed in my room prior to my room because they didn't have her name on the booking. The fact is that 2 days before arriving at hotel, I called to find out if my roommate could be allowed in room even if I arrived later than her and was the one who had made the reservation. I was told it wasn't possible. I arrived at the hotel to be told that I should have added a note to
Lots of pillows and towels. Room was spacious with table and chairs to eat.
Toilet clogged with lil bit of toilet paper and water was high in the bowl. Suction of water in toilet was weak. Never knew if it was gonna overfill.
