    The Del is a top-notch Hotel--It's history and character is unsurpassed! This my fourth time staying at Del over the years.

    We brought my 4 year old grand daughter for leisure day at the beach--SHE LOVED HER STAY AND WANTS TO COME BACK SOME DAY! However, Please be sure to check the BED, IT HAD SAND IN THE SHEETS AND THE CARPETING--I understand how difficult it is to keep sand completely out, but please try!

    Based near a military base. Planes flying all the time with huge noise. Toilet/bathroom was not clean. Ocean dirty. Not for swimming. No places provided by the hotel to sit on the beach. Excess parking fee.

    Location is everything!! Superb setting on beach but also at heart of town. Room very good. Bar and adult pool scene great. Food nice and decent drink selection. Good staff.

    Odd smell in lobby area!

    History and over all setting was great.

    Lack of access to getting around property is poor. Please up-grade ADA compliant elevators and more of them.

    Amenities for kids were great. Location was perfect. Food Delicious, options. Loved their Sunday Brunch in the Crown Room!!

    Closed pool because of an accident.

    Nothing

    The ceiling of the room was 2 centimeters away from my head and rooms were way overpriced for what you get you don't even get a robe or slippers for a thousand dollars can just go to a four seasons and be satisfied

    Location, location, location. Beautiful building in one of the best locations in SD.

    Some rooms of the same price range are not kept up as well as others. Some (Ocean Towers)appear to get a lot more wear and tear and thus suffer accordingly. If you pay top dollar you expect to get accomodations that reflect that. At minimum the standard should be what you get in a California Cabana. I had to share my displeassure at check in. I drove 10 hours to get assigned a subpar room. After negotiations I was able to get a change to a better room for the second half of my staty. Whould this have happend if I had booked directly through the hotel? I wonder?

    Location

    They're understaffed and can't handle your request, mainly bell service, food service. When we notified them of our particular concerns they did nothing to rectify it.

    Coronado is a beautiful location with lovely beaches.

    At check in they made a comment about my discounted rate through bookings.com. Put us on second floor of Tower bluilding with view of parking lot and dirty laundry. The pictures and reservations showed the Victorian building. The place was fully booked. We could not even get an extra night. Check out was at noon, housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30 and 10am asking when we were leaving. She got upset when we said noon.

    Rooms comfortable

    Restaurants overpriced for families! Would have preferred to stay on resort for all meals but to expensive and not enough choices! And paying for beach chairs and umbrellas!

    The location is great and the buildings and surrounding area are very beautiful.

    However, rooms of the hotel looked old and do not match the five-star grade. Didn't feel much welcomed at check-in, and the SheerWater restaurant is seriously under-staffed. It's not easy to find our waiter as he seemed very very busy. Most of all, we were sooooo disappointed by the valet parking team--they put our car key at a wrong place and had my husband wait at the drive way for 25 minutes under a big sun! Don't understand how this hotel got its fame. We will not stay there again.

    The Hotel was tremendously overpriced. We thought this would be a luxurious stay but the room was in poor condition, the room was not luxurious nor was the hotel. The hotel was overrun by groups, weddings, and events. It was crowded, noisy and felt like an amusement park. We won't return unless the price drops significantly!

    The primary reason for staying at the Del was to be as close to the beach as possible.

    For the cost of the room the service was just mediocre; I had to call for housekeeping late in the afternoon because our room had never been serviced.

    The room was perfect. The view was to die for. I felt like I was a part of a commercial. The staff was excellent and very nice and helpful.

    Because the Del is right at the heart of downtown Coronado, they open the main lobby and restaurants up to the public and it is on a public walkway. So b/c this was the busiest weekend of the entire summer (July 4th weekend), it was very crowded. Didn't bother us b/c we were without kids, but would have been too much with the whole family.

    It's Paradise. It transports you back to a time of glamour. The property is amazing and it's history too. The staff is knowledgeable . Will tell you stories of great writers who created works at the hotel.

    Marcos the Valet is the most polite person you have in your staff. He goes above and beyond what a Valet should do. He was hospitable and full of knowledge. He is an asset to your company. Marie Anderson

    I really think you should give locals a better deal on nights stays. We are supporting your hotel day in and day out and if your a local I think 10% off min should be in place!

    Beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. Comfortable beds. Excellent staff and service, very professional. Lovely beach and several settings to choose from for drinks or dinner. Live music entertainer was great.

    parking charges seem excessive. Small bathroom when sharing with 4 however main hotel is old so probably can't be helped.
