service and upgrade after plumbing went out the last night of our stay.
the plumbing going out...
The ice skating rink amazing!
It was so crowded I couldn't get even a chair to get lunch. Realize before you go it will be full of people that just want to see the hotel that aren't guests
Loved absolutely everything.
Way too many people during the holidays.
I felt like I was at Disneyland over crowded not enough space for the hotel guest to relax and enjoy the property. Not a place to go if you want a relaxing get away.
Beautiful setting and lovely amenities
Room was noisy with poor sound insulation to the hallway
Beautiful location beside a magnificent beach. Excellent breakfast.
Too crowded with non-residents
The grounds are well kept, the rooms are clean. The ICE rink is very cool. The beach is beautiful. The views from the rooms were excellent. The restaurants in the area are excellent.
We paid 2.2K for two rooms for 2 days.We had no priority at any restaurant. You would be better off staying across the street and walking as sitting at at Bar. They could make a lot of money giving the guests priority. $700-1K went to other restaurants. Guests should be special they are paying for all of it.
We were celebrating my husband's 75th birthday. They brought us champagne and brûlée to us at dinner. Also, a card was given for free drinks and chocolate.
Very expensive with lots of people everywhere!
the character of the building the high standard of finish in the room .it was Xmas holiday season and the hotel was very busy however the staff were very attentive and helpful. All in all a wonderful experience
We spent our 25th Wedding Anniversary here at the Hotel Del Coronado. It was spectacular. The room, the staff, the food, everything was impeccable. From our greeting from the front desk clerk, to the restaurant staff and the gift shop personnel, they were all so friendly and accomodating. We were upgraded to a Ocean Front room and were treated to an amazing sunset. The breakfast at the Sheerwater was incredible. This was truly a second honeymoon. A memory to last another 25 years! Location , meals, staff, and WEATHER!
Very crowded but hotel handled the Holiday visitors well.
The valet service was amazing so fast and polite
My room wasn't ready 4 o'clock check in too late. Had to change room I never got call room was ready. Paying $47 a day to park is not right to charge for two days I only was allowed to stay from 4 pm to noon next day. If I wanted to get a even partial view of ocean it cost me $100. The two ladies that helped me at check in were rude and made me unimportant.

Although I booked through booking.com, they had no idea who I was upon arrival, the room was being fixed so had to wait an hour. It was billed as a Coast view room, but couldn't see the coast. There was hair on the bathtub and the shower pressure was non existent. Meal package included when booked. They tried to charge me on checkout and now they've left settling the bill after I left until they 'investigate' twenty something dollars on a $2000 bill. Really?!
Valet parking took 20min to get our car.
Location is convenient for beach & restaurants and staff were very nice - rooms are spacious
The place is poorly sited in the middle of a traffic intersection and the only views it has are of a busy dual carriageway and the ugly back side of the Del Coronado. The swimming pool and other facilities of the Loews hotel were described as being "next door". Call me old fashioned, but I don't call a five mile ride down the highway in a bus that leaves only every three hours "going next door". This is just an outright and bare faced lie with full intent to deceive. The very name of the business implies that it has facilities above and beyond an every day hotel when in fact it has nothing to set it apart from a motel. Even the rooms don't get cleaned every day which is bizarre for an establishment calling itself a hotel and there's no room service or bar either. The whole marketing of this place is based on deliberate misrepresentation.
The hotel is beautiful. The view is amazing. We enjoyed the large pool and walking on the beach. We highly recommend this hotel.
The jacuzzi was out of order.
The employees were protesting management over a new contract each morning during the week from 7am to 8am.
a classy and unique hotel. Be sure to book ocean view, otherwise you might end up looking on the parking lot. Not all rooms are located in the old traditional building but in the ocean tower (not the stylish wooden architecture - but closer to the beach).
be sure to check your final bill - breakfast was added to the extras although it was supposed to be included. Let's assume it was a computer mistake and not on purpose... the reception staff took it off immediately without any discussion.
Fabulous location, excellent service, friendly staff, will certainly plan to return.
Great location, unique athmosphere, short distance to the center and all attractions
After all these years, its still there. When I was a kid I use to lay on the beach in front of the Hotel & say "Someday, I'm ganna go stay there" and now that I've done it, I'll have to say "I will be back". Once is not enough. The hotel, the beach, even the temperature of the water - all just perfect.
