The parking was tight, as it shares a parking lot with a local restaurant/club. We were able to find a space each night only with the help of the on duty parking attendant. Being on the highway was a bit noisy until we got used to it.
Conveniently located near Historic Philadelphia, and major highways.
Not many healthy options for breakfast. Noisy room, could improve
Friendly staff. Nice clean room
Bed was harder than I prefer as were the pillows. I wish more choices for breakfast. Ex. Only strawberry banana yogurt and I cannot eat strawberries.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was just ok and they were renovating one of the two elevators.
The shuttle will take you most places in the old city or to the farthest train stop. It made sightseeing easy.
very noisy, close to the highway and during night it was horrible "bad adress", there is North Columbia but if you are going from opposite direction the sign tells you to go wrong (more on the south columbia)
clean room big bed huge breakfast free coffee all day
the location was very noisy, it was hard to sleep.
the cost of staying was reasonable compared with others.the breakfast and the shuttle was a big plus.
Had a 8am fire drill and evacuation that messed up the start of the day. I was showering at the time. Also to close to highway.
Nothing. Was just great start to finish.
We had the corner room on the top floor. It was bright, well appointed with cornices on windows, and had a superb view of the river from both windows. The breakfast was very good, far better than other similar hotels. Loved that we could safely walk to town for dinner and sightsee.
It is very noisy as it is situated right next to the interstate, personally I can sleep through a thing but if you were a light sleeper then you would not like this hotel purely for noise only
The hotel is clean, staff are helpful, the breakfast is all you can expect from this type of hotel, it fills a hole first thing. Close to all the historical quarter and only 5 -10 mins walk from septa bus that will take you up towards Franklin institute and the penitentiary for less than $3 dollars for single
There is only one elevator and the wait takes quite long. The breakfast was full of processed foods with virtually no healthy options. There is a free local shuttle, but it doesn't take any luggage, so a trip to or from the airport by public transit + said shuttle is out of the question. Finally, the hotel has two sides: the river side and the highway (back) side. The latter is unbearably noisy and there is very little soundproofing. To sum up, the nearby Hilton had a similar price and would've been a much better choice.
Frequently. Front desk had great suggestions for dinner. Our room was cleaned to my standards.
All food was hot and tasty. Tables were wiped offer
Like prior statements if your room is on the freeway side of the building we were on the 8th floor the freeway noise is awful
Breakfest room was good
Between highway and big street - very noise during the night
One elevator nd no tissue
Location,staff nd breakfast
Bathroom wasn't cleaned right the whole time. The use of stained linen
Free shuttle and best free breakfast I've had at a hotel
Service very clean. The staff were so polite great location every thing I needed
The shuttle bus made the stay so much better the guys would drop you wherever you wanted to go, and you just had to call them to pick you up
Bed. Didn't like soft pillows and nit having hard mattress
Location and staff
we rented 2 rooms. Our friends had to change rooms as the window overlooking the parking wouldn't close properly. Even tho' they've asked for non-smoking floor, the "non-smoking" 2nd floor was stinking w/ cigarette smoke. They were also awakened at 5am by noises of people yelling & talking… Our room was ok. the heater's fan noise neutralized the noise from the parking...
Parking was bad. Not enough parking for the capacity of the hotel. Double parking is never good.
No shuttle to and from the airport, we had to hire a taxi! I think that would encourage more people to stay with Holiday Express!!
The bang for our buck!
Only one elevator working. Very crowded. Missing amenadies from room.
The location of this hotel is right below and bridge with a loud train running at all hours of the day and night and behind a major highway. This information really needs to be made public especially to families with young children. We have a 2 year old and thank goodness he is a good sleeper otherwise we would have packed up and left in the middle of the night. It was soooo loud, my husband and I didn't sleep at all. The hotel also makes you pay for parking which is also not made public.
Breakfast was good and fresh, easy to get to.
