Design Suites at Castle Beach    

The Room view had a Fabulous view of the ocean...

The room air vent was extremly nasty dirty.. There was a live roach in the kitchen. The valet was over priced for patron visitors. My sons were over charged $8 from 9:45pm then an additional $16 from midnite to 1am.. total of $24 for 4hrs of parking. Rude valet guy with no name tag and he refused to give his name. there is no one to help you with your bags... And no handicap ramp . Not that I am a Handicap person but I watched a youngman struggle to get down the stairs . Very scary.. Will not come back .

Nothing at all... Actually the only people who deserve any compliments on this place are the house keeping staff who did a good job to try and make this terrible place a little more bearable... Thanks guys.

Stay away from this place unless you don't mind being scammed... First of all get ready to stay in line of a poor valet parking service, make your way through lot's of stairs carrying your own luggage and enjoy the old and smelly elevator to try and find downstairs what they call office... Checked in make your way back to the ground floor, clear security protocol to finally park your car and once again enjoy the haunted mansion elevator... Get to your room... Broken furniture, old color bleached curtains, broken shower, broken toilet seat, cockroaches... But no sweat... Think to call their office and... There is no phone in the room... So make your way down again and complain to the staff who will take a note of what you said... Beware of the pictures on the website... It is not what you are going to find... I wouldn't pay half of what I was charged to stay on this place. Get anything else and you will be better of.

It's next Beach and next the main beach at Miami Beach. The room is clean.

The place is under construction! Which should be in the ad! No water for over 12 hours! Every morning woke up to drilling due to construction!

Actually is not an hotel, is a building where different companies try to manage guests that have made reservation.... In the lobby there are 3 desk: security, property desk, and something else that nobody knows what is.... And the reception of the Design Suite Hotel?....Nooo, is in the basement, in a both next to other shops, offices, agencies, etc. Very nice Welcome, isnt? Rooms: if you book a standard room, means that you dont want a sea view or a bay view room, so why you ask to have windows? You have booked a standard room (windows like basement, with slab view...). The lobby was like a plaza, building workers, security staff, maintenance workers, guests, employees of the structure without uniform, maids with their cart.... What to say?...But was not enough: a notice informing guests that the water supply would be closed for the entire day for maintenance!!! Could you believe it without water from 9:00 am to 7:30pm!!! What a mess! Ahhh if you hurry don't use the elevators ... are always occupied by the staff and the maids. Bring from home the toilet paper, they don't refill, and dont ask for maintenance or something like services, they just dont care, they said only "we are very sorry" and do nothing. They dont know what hospitality means. So I made a mistake booking this property, but also booking.com has to verify that is not enough sell rooms to be an hotel. My fault has been to believe that it was a nice "special offer", and they charge on my credit card before the check out without ask me how has been my stay.... How sad experience! Bye

Given such negative reviews, our stay and the room was better than expected.

The elevators were in horrible conditions. When we got to our floor, we had to press the open door button for doors to actually open. Also there was very loud construction sounds every morning while we stayed there and there was no notice of this by the hotel or staff.

The room was sondirty. Decieving pictures of the hotel!

The only thing I enjoyed was the pool.

There were cockroaches all over the room and the room smelt like mold. Floors were dirty the last thing you want to do is deal with BUGS! Hotel should be shut down as far as I'm concerned! Don't go here

Poor service, unorganized check-in. Elevators were almost non- functional, wifi was not working and two lobby computers were not working very well. Tried to use the gym and had to get a special key which didn't work.

I liked the furniture. It was clean!

The building is old. Staff does not come when you request items until the next day. Staff also is a little rude, especially the cleaning lady.

There were cockroaches in my room. The couches were old, dirty, and uncomfortable. The toilets were constantly having issues and the ice trays were terrible.

Very old facility that needs a lot of renovation to be done. No landline in the room. Internet wasn't working at staff didn't keep promise to fix it in 20min. Had to go down a second time until finally somebody took care of it. Balkony sliding door was not working. Lot of hangers were falling down from the wall. Cockroaches in the room. Elevators in a very bad shape. Also, sometimes I had to wait up to 10min until finally I got a ride. Not user friendly for guests with lots of baggage because of the stairs. Overall, it was our worst experience from all the hotel we have ever checked in. This place will never, ever see us again! Not even for a free stay over!

Nice access to the beach.

The lobby was worn and dirty. The building was undergoing construction (not noted to me in any way) starting at 7:30 am each morning, the elevators were terrible and supposedly being updated but no visible work ongoing. The place smelled bad with little air flow. The pool deck was not fully available with little pool side seating. Although one wants a bargain this website did not provide an accurate description of the property. The staff at Design Suites was unfriendly to say the least unless you spoke spanish. Had to get a key for the gym. It was just a dump.

Tikibar personnel were nice and friendly. Location was good. Overall room layout was good.

Terrible Elevator Service: Super slow elevators; many of the buttons didn't work on the elevators, I walked up and down six floors most of the time. The door to my room was very difficult to open and close. Refrigerator motor BUZZED all the time. Slow car valet.

At arrival we didn't know what to expect from the room when looking at the hotel, the hotel looks really horrible but the rooms (at least the one we had, nothing special) was perfect! We enjoyed our time in Miami very much and because of the room we had a good time in recharging for the next day. The hotel could really use some maintenance (button in the elevator are missing, public toilet in hotel is a mess, everything feels dirty and old) But after arrival in our room that all didn't matter anymore. We seen in one week staying there 3 cockroaches but nothing to do about that :-) didn't spoil our fun or our opinion about this room or hotel. House keeping is also very need and clean, well done.

We had not really something that we didn't like the room was perfect, beds very comfortable. The hotel itself should care a little bit more about the impression that it gives when guests walk in for the first time.
