Employees and breakfast.
Shower did not work in the morning and, had not time for asking help.
Location, ease of check in and check out.
Beds too soft. Room service extremely slow and food average at best.
The room was clean and nice
The water in the tub was clogged when we used the shower because of this incident I would not stay there again.
Alwayssss stay at the Derek!! Get the best bang for your buck. Great location and modern. Makes you feel like you spent hundreds on the room.
+ Location is good
- Very expensive parking. - Very difficult to get into. - Extremely slow WiFi connection. - Very basic business center with only two PCs barely working. - Very smelly carpets especially in the public areas. - Very limited choices at only restaurant at the hotel. - Awkward walking garage making you walk in the cold weather to get to it. - Guests guide hardly knew the area when he is supposed to help tourists. - very old looking hotel. - Unfriendly staff. - Full with teenagers at weekend nights.
The location provides easy access to the galleria and is close to Med Ctr. The gaming area that has pool tables and other games next to the bar is a nice touch.
Location is good ,
Internet is very poor , very expensive bar
The breakfast buffet was amazing
The only entrance to the parking garage. You have to walk through a banquet with all your luggage while people are socializing
Price Poor wifi Charge for breakfast and parking - cheaper places provide those inclusive.
I stayed two nights at Derek. The room was great, staff very nice, restaurant, location. Great option in the Galleria area.
Elevators not functioning. Sun morning when everyone is leaving there was only one elevator working. Huge pain for upper floors!
Great style, great value, fun venue close to everything!
Food was bad, bland, little to no style
Booked for $20 more than Hotel 6 (booking.com). Hotel with concierge and valet! Girlfriend loved the modern decor, view, overall cleanliness and heavy down comforter.
Rooms not soundproof. Will pay extra $8 for valet parking next stay. Parking is a bit of a fuss. Shoddy workmanship on minor details of remodel. No big deal really.
Location, Price, layout of rooms, view, self parking,
Valet service area congested, No robes in room or slippers, A/C doesn't work that well, slow elevators. Not a great pool or gym area.
I have stayed at Hotel Derek several times and have never been disappointed! They have a courteous staff, their rooms are always very clean and the modern decor just makes it an absolute joy to stay in. I will most definitely be back and will recommend it to anyone and everyone!
I like the convenient parking garage (a little pricey, however.) I also like the very clean rooms - all of the lightbulbs worked (not always something you find in every hotel.)
The bathroom is a little small but fine for one person getting ready in the morning - might be harder for two. The printer in the business center was not working.
The overnight parking is too high
Beautiful hotel, everything was perfect, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Patrick at the front desk was awesome, helpful and attentive. Room was very nice and clean with a great view.
Bartender was a bit aloof although pleasant and I thought the price plus paying for the parking was a bit overpriced.
The service was impeccable from the people who work at Hotel Derek. The Hispanic valet man in the morning was so hospitable. Also, Khalid, the server in the restaurant on Friday morning was very friendly and provided excellent service. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and I am amazed at the wonderful and friendly staff that you have. There was also a young lady in the restaurant who was ready to help with anything on Friday night of my stay. Overall the workers you have are gold.
I had some problems with the shuttle service. I think improvements need to be made to this service. Two times when they picked us up, they took much much longer than they said they would. When I asked why it was taking so long, they said they were waiting for someone at the hotel, and sent a different car to pick us up. I also had a problem with the phones when I tried to call for a pick up. I called five or six times and the phone just rang without a pickup. I felt stranded at the mall and it was night so I couldn't walk to the hotel alone despite the closeness. The taxis don't want to drive you to the hotel, but one man made an exception and took me with a few of $10. After complaining to the staff, I was reimbursed this fee.
view, was excellent
bathroom was poor. shower was leaking on the wall
I like the lighting of the hotel. Customer service was great. The design of the hotel and the rooms
The parking garage was opposite the elevators. And the time length to return your deposit
Decor very different which was lovely. Stayed at Sheraton the week before which was great but enjoyed the quirky and interesting decor at Hotel Derek. Although expensive it was worth the cost for a few days. Tip is to book early.
Pool very small and generally an expensive hotel.
