Value - I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that accommodated all 6 people in my party. Full kitchen was nice to have to enjoy breakfast in the room.
Carpet in room was stained.
The desert rose is great! The staff is wonderful as are the facilities. We have enjoyed our time there a couple of times and I am sure will again.
Price, location. Free parking at all hotels, saw more with less walking by renting a car.
Beautiful apartment with bedroom, living room with sofa bed, full equipped kitchen, very cozy! Quiet! Certainly recommend!
I loved that it was quiet and a family oriented resort. My husband and I enjoyed it there. I wish they had more amenities such as a free breakfast, or something.
Nothing to even complain about.
Location was perfect. And the pool was refreshing.
Carpet in room was dirty and lumpy. Did not ask for a different room as we were very tired when we arrived. And we only slept in the room and basically we were gone all day. There is no maid service at all, call for clean towels and they are dropped off but the dirty still stay in room.
nice swimming pool and great location
small bathroom and no complimentary water bottle
Friendly and helpful staff. Big rooms. Good location for Vegas. Parking.
Difficult at first to find way back to the front desk from my room.
We enjoyed our stay here even though we were given an older room. We would stay again but may not get the opportunity as it is becoming a timeshare resort.
The staff who checked us in were lovely. However the checkout staff not so good. I think this may have been due to the fact we were not timeshare guests??....
Lovely pool area, fab location, free coffee in lobby, friendly staff
Rooms only serviced after four days, excessive noise from Hooters pool
Large spacious room
Room service only every 5th day
Loved the convenience of the location and the ample living space. Beds were comfortable and two bathrooms came on handy.
Carpets need a good cleaning. A spot was so sticky that we had to cover it with a towel. A guest in the parking lot started to continuously run a generator around 5 am. No one did anything about it.
Bathroom towels very dingy.
I loved this place! It was close enough to the strip and the staff and service was excellent! I am already planning another trip back!
Beds were excellent very restful sleep. The kitchen was very well stocked. Furniture was adequate and very comfortable.
Carpet was a little worn. It was clean, but needs to be replaced.
-clean rooms -not far from the Strip -a kitchen for those who don't want to eat out all the time -on site security **this place is dated, but has upgraded TV's and a cold blowing AC. Other places in this price range will have junk TV's and in-wall AC's. **also, this place is more family oriented.
-staff needs a little more training -you'll have to call a taxi as they don't come by often. It's about a 10min walk to Mandalay, MGM, or New York New York.
I was hesitant to make a reservation here due to some of the negative reviews, but do not listen to them. This place is AMAZING! The staff are wonderful and caring, and the resort is immaculate! The rooms have everything you will need for your stay- fully loaded kitchen, bathroom amenities, towels, etc. All you need to do is show up with your clothes and food. There are even BBQ grills available for the guests. The pool is amazing and clean. Everywhere you look you always see someone cleaning something, or security walking around. Our AC broke and the staff promptly moved us to another room. Yes, there is no breakfast (free coffee is available), but you have a fully equipped kitchen to whip up a quick meal. And yes- the carpet is dirty, but with everything else that the resort provides you with, you can just wear flipflops. The hotel is 2 blocks away from the strip and across the street from Hooters Casino & Hotel, good if you want access to the strip, but you don't want to be in the middle of the hustle & bustle. Free wi-fi and parking is available. The pull-out sofa and the couch is big- can sleep up to 3 people. Also, to access the bathroom you need to walk through the bedroom.
Other than the floor, everything else was clean and modern. There is no housekeeping- other hotels have daily room cleaning, but Desert Rose has a light room cleaning every 3 days. They make the bed, give you fresh towels and clean up the kitchen and bathroom.
Welcoming feel, excellent wifi for work. Complimentary coffee in lobby to keep you working
It was great having a two bedroom hotel room where we could sleep 2-3 on a king bed, 2 on a queen bed, and 1-2 on the sleeper/sofa. The kitchen was an awesome asset, we could have snack and drinks in easy reach. The place had two bathrooms, so having 6 girls get ready was not an issue. Close to the strip- easy to get on monorail at MGM. About a 8-10 minute walk to Excalibur or MGM.
The walk to MGM/the strip was close but you had to walk by Hooters, and their trash area was right along the walk. It smelled horrible, a mix of trash and their septic tanks.
Air conditioning not easy to control. It gets very cold even at 76°F.
Rooms were big and clean very friendly staff checked us in early and called to let us know our room was ready always helpful
This is a small hotel well located just off the strip but away from the craziness of the big hotels. Staff are attentive and helpful. Accommodation was very comfortable indeed and the place had a far more homely feel than the casino hotels. Excellent value for money.
There is no restaurant and the convenience store only sells drinks, ice cream and potato chips. Nearest food court is at nearby MGM or on the strip. Having to walk over a mile was a pain after a long day out. Some food (e.g. pizza) is available for delivery, but we didn't try it.
This was a really great place to stay for the money. I liked the suite, the king bed was very comfortable, and even though I was there for a short vacation, I also used the kitchen for making breakfast and lunch each day. It's off the strip, but not so far that it's not walkable for most people, plus due to the fact it is not right on the strip, you can get away from the major noise when you are done having fun on the strip. The staff was very helpful with any request or questions that I had, and there were no problems.
I don't really count these as problems, but if you have issues with the age of carpets and some outdated style, or if you don't plan on using the kitchens in the room for your meals, you must walk off site to go get breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are not a big walker and are paying to go everywhere by cab, it will hit your budget big time.
The bed and pillows and couch were so comfortable. It was very clean. It had everything I could possibly need. One suggestion? The gift shop should sell milk, they sell cereal but no milk.
Like the room layout, like the kitchen area, like the hot tub and pool
