Could hear neighbor next store snorting. woke me Up!
bed was comfy as well as the kitchen was very useful. staff extremely nice and friendly!! complimentary coffee in the lobby.
the heater as well as the refridgerator were EXTREMELY loud. we woke up at least 10x a night due to noise. i could live with a consistant brumming noise but it was more of a klicking every 30mins. you cant control the heat (or at least we didnt know how to do it) - the temperature was fine but we couldnt turn the heater/noise off. we unplugged the fridge the second night so it got a little better. bathroom very very small. everything was clean but furniture and facilities are really old so it kinda still felt a little grubby. wifi in the room was very bad. didnt work for most of the time and then it was very slow. worked perfectly in the lobby though.
Location Price Front desk staff Convenient and affordable parking
Room was very hot Smelled like mold Not clean
De Witt Place was very good value, well appointed in a great location. I would stay again here and will certainly recommend it to others.
Wifi was a bit hit and miss in the room. Worked OK in the lobby and lounge.
location, friendly helpful staff, well equipped kitchen, view, good reception area/sitting room, good pricing
shower door rather worn, faucet in shower/tub dripping, tub enamel chipped, bed in odd position due to room layout, heating cannot be adjusted; overall impression: nice place that requires some serious maintenance (which might drive the price up)
The architecture. The location. The staff.
The coffee. The bed. The bathroom.
The location for the price of the room, could not be beat. There are other places to stay in Chicago but this is so affordable, especially at the holiday time. We will come back every year!
STAFF VERY AGREABLE AND GENTIL
BEDS ARE A LITLE BET OLD
Location - close to everything very warm welcome; excellent value for money
The staff was amazing and we would like to thank Genesis in particular for all her help. Really went the extra mile
\location, pleasant staff
Very old facility ..60 years?, small bathroom, old heating system, facility outdated
I loved the location! It was right in the thick of things but the building was quiet and cozy. It truly felt like a home away from home. The staff was friendly and personable, and made us feel welcomed and at home. I'd stay here again next time for sure!
The room had a bit of an odd smell to it, most likely due to the age of the building. However, it didn't cause an allergic reaction, so it did not deter us and we would be back for sure.
I liked the fact that I had a refrigerator and could go to Whole Foods and get some stuff. I liked they offered complimentary coffee. I liked that is close to everything and it is cozy.
I didn't like that they didn't have change when I wanted to wash my clothes
Right near John Hancock centre. Large space, well equipped. Staff were outstanding. Has laundry facilities and workout area.
Elevator is slow but to be expected in a vintage building.
When we were looking for a place to stay in heart of Chicago area, the price of this place stood out as unbelievably low. We were simply looking for place to sleep, so we booked it. In the end, it was perfect. Nice, old city apartment feel. Would go straight back for next Chicago visit.
No complaints if you are not looking for lots of amenities. Its a great base camp.
Fantastic location, quite and yet close to Michigan Ave., restaurants, public transport etc. Although the building is very old, it has its charm and is quite cosy. Room adequate and with a fully equipped kitchen, and a small food store right in front of the hotel. Very helpful staff and a lounge which offers coffee all day long.
Being an old building. the bathroom was also old. Very small and needing a least some removation. But it was enough for me.
The heating worked only sporadically and could not be adjusted manually. In addition the room including bathroom and kitchen was outdated and very dirty.
Friendly staff, excellent location, price was amazing for the location. Nice to have fridge and cooking facilities although we didn't cook.
The bathroom is definitely ready for an upgrade or at the very least the tub needs to be re-finished and grout cleaned.
Great location and value.
I liked everything about it for what it is, an excellent budget choice for Chicago.
Bed due to European slats quite comfortable Ikea down blanket :) Location and staff are great
Oven was dirty (including the broiler pan we wanted to use to heat up breakfast. Had the burned remains, fat and food from the prior guest still on it) Sofa is uncomfortable due to what feels like plastic cushions. Nevertheless the comfortable sleep outwon. Would stay here again
Very nice location.
internet was too slow to get any work done. the floor was sticky and the bathroom needed attention, especially the shower.
Very spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to center and bus routes. Quiet.
Excellence of accommodation and friendliness of staff. Very helpful indeed.
