Also Beware of the staff... We asked for a taxi to Manhattan as soon as we got there, they called a private Driver to drive us to the city. We got charged $120 for a 15 minute cab ride, we later found out by the shuttle bus driver for the hotel, that the Hotel staff gets commission for sending guests to these private cab drivers (which pissed us off)
We also got told by staff that the hotel was an hour as way from JFK by cab, turns out it was 2 HOURS AWAY, and we ended up missing our flight.
Also the lifts broke down while we were inside a few times.
The rooms are dated, all of the light bulbs in our lamps were blown when we arrived, we called hotel staff, they told us that no one would come up to fix them. They remained unfixed for the next guests in our room.
And also, the breakfast was bad. The only meat was these dodgy looking small sausages. Not really too much else.
When leaving, we were also getting conned into using the private taxi service again, we said absolutely not, we don't want it, as the prices were ridiculous, and the staff ended up calling their private taxi people anyway.
We had a Latin guy rock up with his hat backwards who could barely speak English, and he tried to tell us we had to go with him in his private taxi
The location wasn't too bad, it was about 20 mins away from Manhattan by shuttle bus (which isn't free), it's a good alternative to staying in the ridiculously over priced New York City. Beware tho, it's near nothing else. No restaurants, shops, public transport etc..
