The staff are very helpful and friendly and always on hand to help
Excellent location next to good eats in Hell's Kitchen and just a few blocks from the Broadway theaters. We had a superior king room which was clean, functional and easily enough space for two adults. We knew there would be no view for this room type - it faced the windows of the building next door, so we kept the curtains closed most of the time. If you care about a view, select a different type of room. The front desk was well staffed and responded quickly to guests' needs.
There is a lot of construction in the area, including next door, which detracts a little from the ambiance when you step outside, but they manage construction well in New York, so the area was still easily navigable on foot. Skip the happy hour - the drink specials were poor quality wines and the snacks were things like frozen french fries and overcooked edamame. The waitress was a sweetheart, though.
Friendly and helpful staff, great central location but quiet rooms, clean and free wifi perfectly working. Good shower and comfortable beds.
the only thing which i did not found exceptional is breakfast, but there are plenty of places in the nearby where you can find anything you want
This hotel has absolutely everything you need. Extremely clean, perfect location, friendly staff and service you couldn't fault. They couldn't do enough for you. I liked the small touches like the daily weather report for the following day and chocolates on our pillows. There was also complimentary hot drinks and nibbles everyday. My fiancé and I were in New York celebrating our engagement and the hotel staff went out their way to write a card to congratulate us then left sweet treats for us. They went above and beyond for us and managed to arrange transfers for us with no bother. This was our first visit to New York and they helped with any questions we had. I always heard hotel rooms in NYC were small but our Superior King room was more than adequate. My only small gripe about the hotel was the bar only stays open until 11pm. After a day of sightseeing in the winter, it would have been nice to enjoy drinks at the hotel. The bar area is really comfortable and would have been ideal to kick back there at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back to New York! Distrikt hotel was the perfect choice for us and I will definitely be back.
*the proximity to the theatre district and Times Square *the helpful, friendly staff *the comfort and cleanliness of the room *having a restaurant and a bar in the hotel
Couldn't fault it. Would definitely stay again.
Wifi hit and miss
location it is amazing being it is so close to time square and shopping areas staff working there are to helpful and social really they help me a lot regarding the transportation map and how i go anywhere clean. size of the room accepted.
WiFi it is only for one device and and only for 4 hours then stopped u must resign again
practical location for those who want to stay near times square. Everyone is really nice, confortable bed, spacious room (really) and amazing shower.
Location can get a bit tiring because everything is too crowded. Wifi disconnects easily.
The staff were fabulous, the room and facilities were clean and the location excellent. Almost everything within walking distance.
The view from our room was not good but in the grand scheme of things we only used the room as a base so it didn't really matter.
The staff that I came into contact with were so helpful and personable...great experience.
I can't say there's one thing that stands on.. Overall a great experience.
The location of this hotel is next to none. We were right across the road from Port Authority with buses, trains and subways at our doorstep. The showers are so powerful they ease away all the aches caused by too much walking!! The staff just could not have been more helpful. We were always greeted when we arrived and left the hotel. Any query we had they were more than willing to help us with. Lots of good advice on steak restaurant and american style breakfast diners.
Comfortable bed, decor, Collage breakfast, and extremely helpful staff
Orange statue out front that gives a sleazy appearance
On arrival staff were very welcoming and friendly, check in was straight forward. We were given a room on the 16th floor and noise was never an issue for us. Our room was very modern and a good size. The bed was sooooo comfortable (the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in) the bathroom was perfect too, wouldn't change a thing. The air con in the room was good and always heated the room well. After 12 hour days out in the freezing cold and on your feet all day I could not wait to return to my hotel room to lay in bed with the heating on watching some TV, like I would at home! Hair dryer and iron in room were an added bonus. We only used the hotel bar once, cocktails were lovely (although a bit pricey @ $15, however this seemed to be average price out with the hotel) the free snacks were a nice gesture from the hotel, not to everyone's taste but they're free, buy something you'll like if you don't want them! The hotel also offered free fruit infused water in the lobby and warm apple cider, another lovely bonus on return from long days out in the cold. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from Times Square and theatre district. The subway station is at the end of the street, 1 minute walk, and will get you everywhere you need to go within the city, very handy. We walked here every day for 7 days and I never even noticed the parole office until it was pointed out to me, just another building in a big city. The port authority bus station did have a few unsightly characters hanging about but in my opinion this is almost avoidable in every city around the world. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. If comfort, value for money a modern home from home is what you're looking then this hotel is the place for you :) Will certainly return on my next trip to New York City.
Great hotel ,very clean, staff excellent.great room comfortable, spotless clean, very quiet .tip(we asked for a high floor room )so no street/traffic noise.its 8/10 mins walk from Times Square.ideal!
If you're okay walking by the parole office, the bus terminal, a sketchy liquor store and a live girls XXX store, you can't beat Distrikt. I've stayed there twice now. The staff are really what make what's otherwise an anonymous hotel stay distinctive. They are so helpful and always there with a greeting when you leave or enter the building. The facility itself is very good, and you can't be the value given its excellent location. I highly recommend.
Fantastic hotel, beautiful room, super friendly staff, free wifi....perhaps would be a little noisy on the lower floors but I was on lvl 29 and didn't hear a thing.
The bed was so comfortable the location the staff were beyond helpful really good value free coffee in the morning the room the shower was powerful
only the coffee and milk etc for the room wasn't topped up every day but we can cope with that
The location was perfect for being in the middle of New York. Hotel staff were all really friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable.
Staff Location Room
People were very nice
Breackfast very expensive. If you go two min to times square you can eat for much less
Personal touches, such as cakes left in our room as it was anniversary, welcomed every time you came into hotel
Comfortable bed and clean room. Very friendly and helpful staff who made us feel really welcome. Every time we walked back into the hotel from a day out they would say 'welcome back'. Only a small detail but I think it summed up the attitude of the staff and the quality of this hotel.
I cannot think of anything negative about this hotel.
The room was very clean and the maid visited every day. The shower is awesome and fits 2 people in it :-) These people were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Not the biggest Hotel in NYC but one of the friendliest no doubt. Everything was perfect.
No dislikes at all
Very helpful staff, sorted out any problems we had. Good comfortable beds, and a great location.
A bit noisy on the top floor, but we we're moved with no problem. The bar is expensive , and although there was free food , we only met up in bar before going out, we would have stayed longer if the prices were better, or there was a proper ''Happy Hour''
