Easy access to all of the City, comfortable bed, quiet.
Bathroom tub floor creaked and gave way underfoot. Heating system erratic.
There is a fair effort to create special environment in the hotel.
Bathroom is rather small. My room face the street which gets noisy at night.
Could hear the recycling going on outside in the wee hours of the morning.
Excellent location, right in the city centre and easy to get to places
One of the lift wasn't working and had to wait for a long time. Bath/shower couldn't turn off properly.
Location was great. Bed very comfy
Tiny shower/bath that had water leaking underneath. Only one very slow elevator working for entire stay and had to use stairs most times. In check-in told staff we would settle the account in cash. We were asked to provide a credit card and informed that it would just be kept in file in case and no money charged to it. After checking out and paying in cash we later realised that they had already charged the entire amount onto the card and still let us pay by cash. We are still going back and forth with them and the bank to get the money back.
Like the friendliness of the staffs & great location. Beside Starbucks!
Good service and location with a nice and welcoming staff. The room was comfortable with a great atmosphere. The only minus was the loud street outside. We enjoyed our stay, and warmly recommend this hotel to other travellers to SF.
Very warm welcome at arrival
Our room was very sticky, smelled like no fresh air for a while. In the bathroom were flies and other insects on the floor. At night we were woken up several times by people on the floor slamming doors, having apparently a party across multiple rooms and smaller fights. At the gym the treadmill was broken. Valet parking returned our car with garbage not belonging to us (incl. mobile charger equipment, which was not ours), some of our items, which we left in the car, have been spoiled, etc. Apparently someone "borrowed" the car during parking it… The general manager of the hotel offered free upgrade for the next time, we would stay with them (only one category available, so which kind of upgrade?), which for sure will not happen and said, that they are subcontracting parking, so therefore no responsibility from their side (we paid the hotel for parking, not some obscure subcontractor). Overall it was a very unpleasant experience and for European standards not a 3 star hotel, but rather a case for lawyers to take care of.
- perfect location - big and clean rooms
Smallest bathroom ever
The location and staff were the best part of this old and tired hotel. The decor was upscale and well planned, however the attention to small detail wasn't there and having to tolerate these inconveniences was a lot to ask for the price of the room. The shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom, instead of in the shower, the shower curtain was torn and ripped, some outlets didn't work, the TV didn't work, and all of this was in our upgraded room. Our first room was booked at $320/night. There was just enough room to walk around the bed, and that was it. No table, no room for a suitcase, no vanity. The upgrade had more space, but still had its disappointments. The staff made our stay much more comfortable, but I would recommend something more updated, and less trendy.
The location was great and the room was a good size.
The TV was fuzzy so I couldn't use it. The reception I received on arrival was a little frosty. They also charged my credit card more than is on my final bill and have yet to explain why.
Great staff.Perfect location.Starbucks next is a godsend.Funky decor.
Pretty expensive for a small room with no view and nothing exceptional
Loved the location to Union Square. Loved the room it was clean and just the right size. Loved the Starbucks right next door.
The staff was not very friendly or welcoming. It was the Nike Half Marathon weekend, the entire hotel was basically runners and the late checkout was not an option. Every group was rushing to get back from race because shuttles were delayed and if we did not checkout by 12:30pm we were charged another night. For how much they charge a night during this weekend it would be nice if they were more accommodating. And they only had one maybe two people working the front desk causing even more delays. Also the concierge was not very helpful. I was treated better at another hotel down the street which is where I needed to move my stuff to take a shower do to checkout issues.
Nice location, employees very knowledgeable and helpful.
Tv reception and quality very poor. Somewhat disappointed that no discounts honored as a travel agent, AAA, AARP, etc. .hostess explained this due to using booking.com, not very legitimate excuse especially for we travel agents who recommend and sell your hotels. Not sure I would for this reason.
Located near the Union Square, staff was helpful, Starbucks is literally next door.
Woke up each night because of the sound of breaking glass - sounded like they loaded garbage at nights and someone tried to break each bottle in that pile of garbage
Location was a bonus, the hotel was very chic and the staff went out of their way, especially on the last day to find our bag of medication we left behind on the study desk after check in. Concierge was helpful in providing us information on how to get around and arranging for transport to the airport. Would stay here again!
Price is a little dear
The location was amazing and the staff were very plasant and helpful, especially the evening concierge. I defenitly recommend.
The room was a bit small though expected from a big city hotel and there was zero view from room window
Location:it is 100 meters from union square. Starbucks and mexican bistro are just next to it. A Lot of resturants and shops around.
1-It is very noisy if you take street view room, even though I was at 5th floor but it seems there is no windows insulation at all.there is no difference if the windows are open or not it is the same level of noise. Especially at night when the police and firefighting cars pass through that street with alarms and siren. 2-The floor cracking sound:it seems that the wooden floors are very old,I hear anybody walking in the upper floor. 3-the room smell,I think there was a leakage on the carpet before we get in to the room.
hotel was in a good location, room was nice and staff were friendly enough
The room was large and the modern decor is edgy with a grey on grey sophisticated palette. The complimentary sake at cocktail hour is a nice perk, but they should also serve some small snack crackers. Alas, they do not!
The check in process was fast and courteous but the wait for the slowest elevator in town was aggravating! During our stay only one sluggish elevator was working.......sort of. The deluxe king had the bathroom sink located in the room right next to the sofa and not inside the bathroom per see. How weird it that? The worst feature of the room was the location of the air/heating unit right next to the head of the bed where the fan noise and cold or warm air blasts right into the supposedly sleeping persons! Very poor design!
Location and reception staff
Whole aura of hotel and in particular the bedroom Dreadful experience and I am a very seasoned traveller Not only that very expensive in relation to quality
Location- we got upgraded to a suite... Lovely friendly staff.
Very small lobby very slow lifts. Check in was slow
