Zach, at the desk, was friendly, charming, and offered "spot on" service. The room was spacious; didn't use the kitchen but if I'd had a longer stay I would have. It was nicely appointed. The Dolce Villa hotel has a fine indoor or outdoor restaurant as well. Nice atmosphere, many fabulous restaurants nearby. Good breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Hard to find. The hotel is situated on a plaza so it isn't one of those where you drive right up to the door with no confusion or searching.
Friendly staff, big room
The door of the bathroom was falling of its hinges. There were weird yellow stains on the walls and the curtains.
The hotel is in a great area- amazing restaurants and conveniently located to Brown University. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.
The mattress was like sleeping on a hard trough. Everything else in the room was great!
Bad reception on arrival Kitchen poorly equipped- no adequate pots, electric kettle, plates, spoons etc
The kitchen, really comfy beds, spacious rooms, clean. Wynter at the front desk was helpful, next to a bus stop to downtown providence
Fair amount of outside noise at the weekend. We were initially charged double for the room due to clerical incompetence; though this was rectified easily we were still stung for each transaction fee as we were overseas travellers.
Lovely room, great kitchen tvs in both rooms and nice bed!
Broken bathtub jets
Great service and clean rooms. Location was convenient to good food and shopping.
The only negative is the parking is not the best however they valet overnight for 20 dollars.
Location. Large space. clean.
No central air. Loud air conditioners. Did not care for the mattress
differences in rooms: one room has few equipments for cooking, another enough. Loud airconditioner
I appreciated the full kitchen. This is an old hotel but you can tell a great effort went into updating. Still had old feel from hall. But effort is appreciated.
There was such a strong bleach smell as soon as we entered our room. There is no street parking. A $20 fee for parking. Lots of bars in Area
This place is all about location. It is right in the heart of great restaurants and fun. Outdoor activities abound. We were attending a conference at the downtown convention center. It was a nice walk and very convenient. There was live music in the plaza in the evening. It lasted until 10 or 11 PM so we still got our sleep. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen came in handy for multiple day stays.
The hotel is marginally maintained. It is clean. Room 1A is on the service ally between the hotel and a restaurant. The dumpsters are smelly and garbage and delivery trucks are loud. We had to run the air conditioner all the time to minimize the smell. It wasn't overwhelming but annoying. BUT, the location is EVERYTHING!!!! I had asked for a room NOT on the first floor but they said that was all they had. Almost cancelled after seeing the alley and dumpster out the window but glad we didn't. Probably won't stay there again.
Interesting quirky hotel in good location though not close to town. Staff helpful with parking.
Staff not knowledgeable about area and no suggestions as to what to see or do.
Location Good choice of place to eat within walking distance
Difficult to find via navigation system. Shows turn to a street that we missed since it is a dirt lane. Next the hotel street has been made into a pedestrian place. Noisy Music at dinner time right outside the hotel
the room was nice and neat just too many white and it was very very clean
the only problem I have is parking I have to pay for valet parking if I was suppose to stay there for a couple days I wouldn't because of paying for the parking
Like a home with kitchen. Staffs were great
AC sound was high
cleanliness, location, friendliness of staff
bleach smell a bit too "white". I felt like I was in a Woody Allen movie.
-Location -Full kitchen
-No parking -Terrible Valet location/service -Outdated rooms -Skeptical door locks -Strange odor -White walls covered in stains
Very charming old building in the heart of it all, bar restaurant row, located in a cute Piazza with a fountain. Inside you will be surprised to find modern, all white appliances and furnishings. Very Apple like theme. I have staid before and I always try to price it and see if there's a deal or availability when visiting Providence. Highly recommended it.
Parking is in the street but for $20 dollars the staff will valet Park it for you. Not necessarily a negative thing, $20 dollars is half hour parking in Manhattan.
The restaurants around the hotel were excellent. We also liked that there are so many to chose from. The fist time we were here , we had a beautiful room with a fireplace and 2 bedrooms. We didn't mind that it did not have the second bedroom, but we did mind how many things were wrong with our room.
Although it said vacancy the general manager made us wait 45 minutes until 3:00 for our room. We were sadly surprised by the amount of broken tiles on the floors, the hair in the tub that I had to wait to have cleaned, there were over 15 complaints. The oven and freeze were dirty, no ice because someone had shut off the ice maker.
big bright rooms, good kitchen
They gave a suite ugrade
The desk clerk was a bit scattered but she was pleasant
Space, kitchen, value. Comfortable foam beds.
Decor was futuristic Spartan. Can't pull your car up to the front door. Tv had no remote. Had to walk up three flights of stairs with luggage. ... no elevator.
Windows looked out at dumpsters and noise ftom outside. Shower head had leak and tv remotes didn't work.
I love this hotel so beautiful very good staff the take my car and park it in the hotel garage beautiful rooms everything i like i recomend this hotel the only thing my phone has bad reception ovethere and wifi was no good maybe my room location but everything i love it
