I have never been to DC, so choosing a location was guesswork at best. However, this spot is great. Walk out of the hotel and turn left you are a half a mile from all the "touristy" stuff you must do while in DC. Turn right and you are headed to Georgetown which has a ton of shops, cool venues and waterfront dining. Only cabbed it one time in 3 days.
Complete roof top closes 6PM for teens
Friendly staff Comfortable beds Close to White House Roof top bar
You have to ask for everything that would normally be in your room at other hotels. Cleaning staff was rude. No concierge on site. Front desk people were only moderately Knowledgeable. Food at the on-site Restaurant was not very good, but expensive for sure.
No much. I liked the fact that the Westin was across the street so we could go over there to get good information.
When we arrived (after a long flight from UK) and tried to check in we discovered that our booking had not been made, despite having a confirmation Email from Booking.com!!
Great room after being upgraded. Also got complimentary breakfast due to hassle of check in.
The rooms were very modern and well kept. The location was perfect. Metro was nearby and it's near many of the downtown DC attractions. There was a complementary happy hour too.
The re receptionist had a very high voice it was uncomfortable there was no privacy at all omg And for God sake washinton is a busy place but what does the people which have booked in the hotel have to do with the high rated price for the car park it should be less seriously
They were quick and fast
Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Loved the cool shower and large tv. Wine hour and rooftop bar were great!
The sounds of the traffic outside can be a bit bothersome when you are trying to sleep.
We liked the helpfulness of the staff. My daughter enjoyed the goldfish as company. The view from our room was great.
This was my first time at The Donovan. The hotel is modern; the Wi-Fi is complimentary, the rooms are clear and very clean. The view at the top of the hotel is superb! However, what really makes the difference is the hotel personnel always at your disposal to inform about places to eat, to shop and to give you any information you deserve. Always with courtesy and kindness. In my opinion, the cost to benefit is excellent. During my stay, I forgot a watch at the room. They found it immediately and save it for future pick-up. Thanks for the housekeeping people – you were very kind, in particular, Mr. Jake (I hope this is the correct way to write his name). Certainly, I recommend the Donovan and for sure, I will come back.
One angry drunk on the elevator
Very comfortable room with a great view. Excellent bar for dinner and drinks. Furnished for comfort and style.
wifi isn't free . the room doesn't have a coffee maker.. Tghey ran out of hot water for tea in the am
walking distance of the convention center rooms are nice except the bathroom wall is translucent wo you can leave the light on
Family like atmosphere. Close to convention center
We did not like, the surprise security fee of $100 per night, the overpriced snacks, the TINY room, the lack of views, the clogged sink, and the weird lighting.
I really LOVED the decor, the staff, and the restaurant, and the location.
The only issue my boyfriend and I noticed was slow wifi on our laptop in the morning; however, this was not an issue for our cell phones.
My boyfriend and I looked all over the east coast for a last minute, upscale hotel (within budget) for a short stay over Valentine's weekend. The Kimpton was one of the few hotels that did not double their rates for the holiday, yet still looked clean and modern. We stayed in a Deluxe Queen Room for two nights for only about $420. When we arrived, the staff was AMAZING. The valet staff was very helpful and the two staff members at check-in were genuinely kind people. Since we arrived during the daily "wine hour," we were given complementary wine, which was a nice surprise. The housekeeping staff also went above and beyond. Our room had a handwritten note by the bed that said: "Welcome to the Donovan! Your housekeeper, Regina." It was a very nice gesture by the housekeeping staff, but even kinder was when they delivered a single white rose to our room on Valentine's Day morning! Overall, our experience at The Donovan exceeded every expectation. We would definitely recommend The Donovan to anyone looking for an upscale, but inexpensive, hotel.
I was blocked in the elevator and the emmergency call had nobody replied! finally got out of the lift and told the staff about it but the receptionist didn't care about it and said it's often like that and she didn't take any preventive measures for this elevator or stop other users to take it! The room service is bad! no water boiler! so I asked for a pot of hot water for tea. They gave me a pot of hot water but with strong Coffee smell!!! They didn't wash the pot well!
the comfort, the room is quiet and clean
I didn't like how everything you wanted was extra. Parking was $50 and wifi even cost money if you wanted it. I didn't really need it, but all in all it didn't detract from the experience
I loved the service that was provided for me and my new wife, and the view from our room was amazing. We both loved the Atmosphere and the service that was provided for us. It was the perfect place for a honeymoon.
The bathroom although big had shortcomings. The frase "form follows function" was not use by the designer. The shower head trickled water. The toilet so close to the sink encroached with both of us.
The staff did everything you could ask from them to please you.
I have to ask to replenish shampoo kit Expensive parking
Amazing welcome on Christmas Day with stockings from Santa, wine, gifts and cookies! Friendly personal staff who know how to make you feel at home.
I reserved a suite for new years eve months ago and they did not hold my room I had a much smaller room it was not a particularly nice room either. Not worth the money won't be going again and I do not recommend anyone else go
The waygun steak was the best steak I've ever tasted
Very dim rooms definitely needs more lighting.
The staff was amazing! They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the town.
The decor seemed a bit stark. Did not care for the shower sticking out into the room.
Staff and location were great
Stunning lobby, friendly staff, not too far from the main tourist attractions, the room was superb :) There was no coffee/tea facilities available in the room but complimentary to go coffee was available in the lobby
The elevators were our only issue really. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable too
Staff, location, coffee, and wine :)
