We were in front of a huge AC/heating unit in from of our window. No view, pretty dark and constant noise.

The only thing I can think of that could would be "bad" would be the view. I looked at another building, but being in the middle of Downtown, it's to be expected. Not really a complaint, just an observatio .
The hotel was beautiful, with helpful staff. The bed was super comfortable

Not there long enough to really dislike anything about the place. Parking maybe? All you can do is valet at $41 a day. Don't travel enough to know if that is standard.
Comfy bed and sitting area in the lobby. Love the jazz playing over the sound system. It made me feel like I was back in the 1920s or 30s.

Loved the quiet, masculine decor. Nice touch continuing the walrus theme of the building. Great bathroom -- spacious, attractive, and a jacuzzi tub. Fantastic view of the Smith Tower!

My only complaint is you have to pay for WiFi. So many hotels offer free WiFi now, if this one did, I would vacation here always!
So glad we chose to stay here. We travelled to Seattle for a concert on NYE and chose to stay the night instead of trying to drive home immediately after the concert. Friendly staff, who offered us warm (and delicious) cookies when we checked in. They kindly reminded us the hotel was "party free," which was great for us because we knew we would want to get some shut eye before traveling home in the morning. Wonderful stay and everything went was planned until I forgot my wallet in the hotel room! I realized immediately upon returning home and called the hotel. A few hours later they returned my call saying they had my wallet and would ship it back to me. I was relieved, but worried my cash would be missing after hearing horror stories from friends and family in similar situations in the past. A few days later my wallet arrived, with everything still there - cash, cards and all! We're looking to take a family trip back to the area soon, and I will definitely suggest we stay here. Wonderful hotel.

Room 209 was at the street level and was noisy. You could hear the trains and buses, sirens and cars all night long. Thursday night into Friday morning was the worst.
The location was excellent. Within walking distance of stadiums, shopping, public market, light rail & ferry terminal. The staff was helpful and attentive.
