Bathroom a little on the small side and shower could do with a revamp.
Proxity to freeway and public transport is good

A cautionary note to others and not a particular dislike on my part.Take note of the hotel supplied maps. They all list skid row, just to the south. This is where most of L.A.s homeless wind up. Hotel's common areas are updated, clean, and modern. Our particular room was a bit thread bare and worn in the furnishings, mattress sag, and bathroom layout.
Walking distance to China Town, Little Tokyo and Olvera street. All part of the original history of the Los Angeles area.

The staff was excellent and courteous in every way. Really enjoyed the Japanese Garden. Thank for a great stay.

No free WiFi.. Rooms were a bit small.. No microwave.
bed was comfy.

Strong smell of cigarettes in the room despite the hotel being 'non smoking'. Found half empty bottle of water in the room when checked-in. Room was not cleaned properly (rubbish bean was not emptied, some hair on the bathroom floor). Loads of homeless people near the hotel.
Nice big room with big beds. Friendly staff. Nice Japanese garden.

The hotel's in a good position, but the southmost part of Los Angeles Street looks like a rough neighborhood. Better use 2nd / Hope when taking a walk to central downtown.
Close to Union Station Lots of Japanese restaurants in the neighborhood. Within walking distance to Olvera Street

No free wifi, dated 70's feel to the place not helped by the constant Starsky & Hutch type music playing in the lobby / bar all the time!
Comfy bed, good size.

The breakfast and dinner were terrible, there isn't a place for it like other hilton's i stayed. The money is definately not worth it.

Location is awesome.

The towels were old and grey. The elevator controls were spotty. Floor numbers sometimes appeared incorrectly and the up and down indicators were unreliable. The food for breakfast was only fair and items on the breakfast menu were, and had been for some time, unavailable.
The view over the garden from a high floor was a pleasure

The location of the hotel is really not central at all. If this is your first time to LA, do not be fooled by this hotel being in downtown. For LA, downtown does not mean central at all.
Rooms and beds are comfortable

Temperature control didn't work at first, but service staff repaired it with alacrity - appreciated prompt service!

part of the toilet seat was broken but feel they will fix it once we reported it.
Very reasonable for a downtown hotel. Once the Otami hotel, it has a beautiful Japanese roof garden. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and their warm cookies delicious! The cafe - open late - has wonderful desserts. Drinks reasonably priced. Great choice for us.
