Clean, comfortable, nice place to stay. I will return.
All was good
Room was comfortable and clean though a bit dark. Hotel has a new, hands-on general manager and he is very interested in how the hotel looks and what guests want. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff is superb. I would stay here again.
AC unit very loud. Free WiFi connection on third flor, where my friend had a room did not work. They offered to waive fee for upgraded WiFI.
The Doubletree was very bright & clean, and the Reservationist clerk was very friendly & fast helping me check-in. And the warm cookie was a nice surprise!
Location was great. Easy access and self parking was convenient.
We were given a "cookie" upon arrival and that was all. I had read on the internet that the "cookie" was about the only free thing one would get. No free drink at the bar or any other amenities. No shower caps but worst of all, cleaning gal showed up around 5:00. We just asked for clean towels as we were annoyed that she arrived so late as we were getting ready to leave for dinner. We had stayed at the Drury Hotel in Mobile at half the price and were given 2 free drinks as well as an array of free appetizers. Coffee and soda were available all during the day. At the price we were charged at the Doubletree, I sure expected at least a complimentary drink. Even for breakfast, no coffee except what was in our room. We couldn't believe it. I have taught marketing at many Universities in Florida. I'm sorry to say that Doubletree's marketing folks need to take a class on how to make your customers feel valued. I assume your location for business travelers is the reason you are still in business. If the Drury Hotels can afford to make their customers stay a pleasant one, I am confident that the Doubletree could do the same - especially at the prices charged.
It was a nice place to stay, very convenient location. Nice staff, I would stay here again.
The room was clean, quiet and close to the elevator.
I felt that the room was so overcharged that I will never go to a Doubletree again.
Clean Helpful staff Reasonably near to town
Area is run down. I did not feel safe walking back from downtown in daylight.
For the amount that I paid I was just expecting more. You could hear the neighbors water draining through the walls. No complimentary breakfast. Room service was expensive for the bare minimum. It was extremely hot in the elevators and the rooms. I would have rather stayed elsewhere and driven the extra miles to my meetings.
staff bar breakfast water pressure (showers)
location (highway and cemetary) pool was small and sad bathrooms were beat up
Front desk never answer phone. No shuttle, staff very unfriendly,
I didn't like the fact that I could not change the payment method once I arrived at the hotel. I had booked 3 rooms via booking.com and when I got there with my party, I was told by the hotel staff the the rooms were prepaid at Booking.com and I couldnt change the payment to split between the party. I had to pay for everybody and I didnt like that at all. I have always booked via booking.com and always had the chance to change the payment option once I got to the hotel.
The facility was very nice and a good value
The only negative was possibly that we didn't feel safe walking back to hotel after dark. There wasn't a good cross walk and there were suspicious looking people hanging out under the bridge. We took a cab back which was actually quite reasonable.
everything was great. friendly staff. excellent service beautiful room. was quite excelent
the heater in the elevator was always on made taking the elevator unbearable
I was visiting the University of Austim so the hotel location is very good.
rooms need renovations
The cemetery out back.
Like the staff at the front desk. Very helpful. Loved the cookies.
In the morning the water temp in the shower did not get hot enough. Maybe too many people showering at the same time.
proximity to UT
overall facilities not spectacular
I needed a safe and there are no safes available at this location. Something to work on.
1. Close to Downtown, Convention Center and UT. 2. Somewhat Secure Area.
1. No free breakfast. 2.No shuttle service. 3. Not as clean as Drury INN.
Murray at the front desk was a wealth of knowledge about so many things we had questions about...and the cookies (as always)!
Walking distance to UT Staff member at check-in was very friendly
We hoped to watch a movie before bed but none to rent. Hotel very outdated and rooms smell old, musty. Expected a nicer room for the money.
Location for purpose of travel was very useful.
No complimentary breakfast.
Helpful, friendly staff. Location good. Parking. Nice pool.
Noisy air con. Rooms could do with an update. Very dark rooms
close to the downtown
The toilet paper holder came off the wall and maintenance had to come fix it.
