Breakfast was not included in the room charges. That's unusual
Eastside location turned out to be really nice, although a long walk from Downtown. Close to the highway=noise, but significantly less expensive than other Austin hotels.
The tub had rusty gunk in it. I did not feel comfortable using it. I was told it was free parking then got a bill for parking. I had it credited but why should I have to.
The staff was very polite
They should have had a shuttle to the start of the Austin Marathon.
Cleanliness,upgraded facility,friendly staff, spacious common areas,(bar, restaurant).
Outside noise, could hear I-35 all night ad had to use ear plugs to sleep.
Stayed here for the Austin Marathon. Good location, walking distance to restaurants, State capitol, UT and bike share.
The hotel is a bit dated. Our bathroom did not have a venting fan.
The hotel is tidy and the staff is friendly. Plenty of free parking. Fitness center and swimming pool looked sufficient (although we didn't have an opportunity to use them). It's just a short trip to UT and downtown attractions. Overall good experience.
One of the elevators was out. I was on the second floor so the stairs weren't too bad for me when I didn't want to wait for the other elevator. It just made it difficult when I had stuff to carry. But they were working on the elevator.
I loved the location. It is very centrally located. It was easy for me to zip around in Austin without having to get tangled up in traffic. I was able to access the places I needed to go. The staff was very helpful in answering questions.
Way too expensive for what it was. Extremely noisy as highway right outside window. Room hard to keep cool. Noisy a/c.
Across the street from the Erwin Center (where the Texas Longhorns play basketball) and we were able to walk there in 5 minutes.
The hotel was next to a graveyard. It is also very hard to find on the iPhone GPS. I got lost like 4 times in a weekend.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely. There were no problems with getting piping hot water.
Great customer service
Service desk clerk was rude. Asked for receipt twice and my request was not provided. Workshop was outside hotel. The hotel area had only one restaurant nearby everything else was far away. Parking in the evening was dark and crowded.
Location Road noise Loud party on floor all night long
Value for money Staff Cookies Amenities
The hotel had water heating issues which was quite irritating.
One day with cold shower with no information and apologize (day was fully charged) break-first rules not explained (buffet service, but you are not allowed to take yourself your orange juice or coffee), price is not detailed and was variable day to day. Limited access to the free wi-fi, mainly not available

All was good
Clean, comfortable, nice place to stay. I will return.
AC unit very loud. Free WiFi connection on third flor, where my friend had a room did not work. They offered to waive fee for upgraded WiFI.
Room was comfortable and clean though a bit dark. Hotel has a new, hands-on general manager and he is very interested in how the hotel looks and what guests want. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff is superb. I would stay here again.
The Doubletree was very bright & clean, and the Reservationist clerk was very friendly & fast helping me check-in. And the warm cookie was a nice surprise!
We were given a "cookie" upon arrival and that was all. I had read on the internet that the "cookie" was about the only free thing one would get. No free drink at the bar or any other amenities. No shower caps but worst of all, cleaning gal showed up around 5:00. We just asked for clean towels as we were annoyed that she arrived so late as we were getting ready to leave for dinner. We had stayed at the Drury Hotel in Mobile at half the price and were given 2 free drinks as well as an array of free appetizers. Coffee and soda were available all during the day. At the price we were charged at the Doubletree, I sure expected at least a complimentary drink. Even for breakfast, no coffee except what was in our room. We couldn't believe it. I have taught marketing at many Universities in Florida. I'm sorry to say that Doubletree's marketing folks need to take a class on how to make your customers feel valued. I assume your location for business travelers is the reason you are still in business. If the Drury Hotels can afford to make their customers stay a pleasant one, I am confident that the Doubletree could do the same - especially at the prices charged.
Location was great. Easy access and self parking was convenient.
It was a nice place to stay, very convenient location. Nice staff, I would stay here again.
I felt that the room was so overcharged that I will never go to a Doubletree again.
The room was clean, quiet and close to the elevator.
Area is run down. I did not feel safe walking back from downtown in daylight.
Clean Helpful staff Reasonably near to town
For the amount that I paid I was just expecting more. You could hear the neighbors water draining through the walls. No complimentary breakfast. Room service was expensive for the bare minimum. It was extremely hot in the elevators and the rooms. I would have rather stayed elsewhere and driven the extra miles to my meetings.
location (highway and cemetary) pool was small and sad bathrooms were beat up
staff bar breakfast water pressure (showers)
