Location on the Marina
Too awhile to figure out how to get around. Our building was "hidden" behind 2 others. Not a map in sight.
nice, quiet location... awesome cookies
overall good experience...although the wifi connection was not working very well
My room key didn't work most of the time. The entry door to building two was not secure, it was wide open with a not working sign on the key swipe box. The restaurant needs a serous renovation. The service in the restaurant was poor. I had to find someone to pay for my meal after waiting 15 minutes for someone to pick up my money.
we went downstairs to eat the food was rather good view of the marina was spectacular
I didn't like the fact that I had to call the front desk three times to get more towels which I specifically asked for when I checked in
Stayed in a very large suite that gave us plenty of room to spread out.
There was nothing specifically wrong or bad with our stay but for the price we paid compared to the great places we stayed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Honolulu I feel disappointed by what we got for what we paid.
didn't do much more than sleep, but everything about the experience was fine. checkin/out quick and efficient.
surprisingly big, so your room can be quite a walk from checkin; with a few doors to negotiate that were a bit of a hassle with a rolling bag.
generous supply of water and apple
hotel in the middle of no where with shuttle bu running only top of the hour.
The marina would have been nice... if I had been able to see it at all. For all I know, there wasn't one. Ummm... what else? Perhaps if you get a marina view you don't have to listen to the trains all night?
This hotel is coming apart. The closet door was kicked in, the mirror frame was damaged and poorly painted over, there were huge damages/holes/stains in the carpet in the corridor, the elevator made me panic for the first time in my life, the car park is not a nice view, the Amtrak trains honk all night long and wake you up repeatedly, and there was loud and and annoying electrical hum that my partner thought was boats honking in the distance going off every few minutes (also all night). The price is an absolute rip-off unless you get a marina view. Why pay DoubleTree prices for the Super 8 experience?!? I 'slept' absolutely terribly.
They were redoing the carpet in all three buildings due to a flood. On Saturday morning at 9 am I awoke to loud pounding due to the construction. I called to ask manager why they did not put me in another room away from the construction. The manager Mike told me there was construction in all three buildings. I was polite and asked why they had to work on Saturday morning. He kindly replied that they needed to get the work done promptly. He could hear the pounding over the phone and quicklly comped my stay. I was surprised. I was not expecting that and did not ask for a free stay. I was so impressed by his professional and kind demeanor. This was a pleasant surprise because I was just calling him to give him information on the pounding. I was very grateful for his kindness and generosity.
the speed in the staffs attempt to resolve problems.
we arrived to find that the room we booked was not available.they put us in a double bed room and gave a $50.00 credit that had to be used for food(before check out) the elavator did not work for the first 7 hours.then the heat didn't work in room. They replaced it but still only worked part time. It was too cold to sleep.
Desk staff were very warm, welcoming, and helpful.
Food service staff, both in room service and in restaurant were slow.
Very nice stay staff very friendly nice swimming pool
Location is excellent; basic hotel is good but we were let down by service. May use it again but may not...
Plug in the sink didn't work - we told the front desk and the fix was poor - a cable tie so it only JUST opened! On the second day the shower broke, despite telling reception it wasn't fixed. Wifi speed very poor; I measured it at 0.6Mb/s upload, .49 download.
We didn't realise the hotel was quite so far from downtown, but the free shuttle service was great as the situation at the marina was really quite nice.
The bed was wonderful! The staff were very pleasant. The higher toilet is great for us "oldies". The soap holder in the shower and the safety bar in the shower are terrific.
Upon making a reservation, I was told the cost was a "best" $139. That was acceptable, but at checkout, I was billed $139 for the first night, and $149 for each of the next two nights. That was not explained to me at registration. No shower caps provided. A local call was charged to me. Breakfast was provided ONE night's stay only.
The place had a bad smell
Breakfast is not complimentary.
The room and the bed.
We would have preferred to be facing the marina
Beautiful view of Marina, free car parking, friendly staff
No safe box in the room; limited options of food; old facility; poor cleanness of room; expensive; don't feel safe in the hotel since there is no security and surveillance cameras in most of the facility
too authoritative clerks as if they own the hotel. my horrible experience as i was feeling ill of their repetitive demand i must show an ID, which i did not carry on a family party or they will call my asleep husband, who went home ahead of me. these clerks are way out without common sense. i felt terrible like i did a crime, with the over zealot clerk, who was escorting me to my room, for what???
Friendly staff, the fantastic walking trails around....beautiful along the Marina
my friend thought the gym was really sub-standard for today's world. No towels, not enough machines...but who needs a gym when you can go for a wonderful walk/run
No refrigerator, no microwave, no fan in bathroom, no free breakfast. Desk staff does not know how Booking. com works. No real value for your money. If no view it's a very plain hotel.
the high ceilings, the furnishings and décor. The nice location near the water. Very quiet.
Like most hotels, rooms have soft to medium mattresses. I and my back like firm.
Location perfect, grounds beautiful, very friendly staff, attentive to needs!
Would like refrigerator in room.
I liked the scenery. The dinners were delicious and worth the cost, although service could have been better.
Coke machines were a nightmare. Breakfast buffet cost way too much for what it was. Parking was not very easy and the distance to the room was pretty far, in other words, not very convenient.
