All the staff Nice Ocean View Great food and drinks at the restaurant and bar
nothing, I wish all places were like this and I've stayed all over the world
Hotel was super clean, super friendly, and located right by the beach. Everyone was nice and there's just a great vibe about this place. I highly recommend
Frequent train noise due to the tracks being quite near this hotel was a little tough to get used to.
Right across from the beach, staff who all appeared to like their job, sitting room with a balcony overlooking the water, rooftop bar, convenience to local attractions, outdoor firepits perfect for socializing....we liked it all.
Paid wifi, difficulty of access to hotel, cramped bathroom, no counter space in bathroom. Ocean view was blocked by state park trees, a letter awaited us on arrival that stated we needed to keep our drapes closed to insure our privacy while they were painting the exterior of the building for the next week. One hotel rep. said we had to cancel our remaining stay thru booking. Not true. Valets were very helpful. Elevator access from the garage was often very slow.
Nearness to Dana Point
The jacuzzi was broken. The web picture was deceiving but I loved our spot. Gift shop could have had energy drinks and the lamp heaters upstairs on bar balcony were broken. Well one worked.
The view was breathtaking. The separation of the bedroom and living space. The location was great.
Jose the food and beverage manager completely took care of us. We went to Dana Point to get married. He was over and above our expectations. The suite we were in was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back for more occasions. Thank you Jose!!!
The staff is amazing, very attentive and caring
Cost of parking is extremely high. If it's going to be over $20 per night, just include cost into room fee so it's not so obvious or reduce it for anyone staying longer than one night.
Location is excellent
The air conditioning went out twice and it was 80 degrees in our room but staff was helpful in fixing it both times for us. I was also billed x3 for the room and had to go down and speak to girl at front desk. She said there was nothing she could do about it and I would have to wait a couples days to clear.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Our check in was very pleasant.
Cabinets in rooms are dated and could use replacement of refinishing. Light switches and thermostat controls needed to be wiped down as they were dirty. Rest of the room was clean and neat.
Location to Dana Point and Doheny Beach. Front Desk Staff was excellent.
Confusion on billing! They billed me for two nights when I only stayed one.
Ice machine on my floor did not work. Had to go to front desk so they could get ice from bar. Then vending machine on my floor was not working....back to front desk where they charge double the vending machine price. Bathtub stopper broken so shower only. TV darkness kept going from normal to dark which was distracting. Not going back again.
Closeness to the Charthouse, beach and town
I reserved a ocean view suite. We were on the 3rd floor and you had to look through the trees for a view. On the 2nd night out of a three night stay. The room was not cleaned very well. Also, they did not restock the coffee. On my last day I woke up to find a $66 bill for incidentals.(PARKING) Also the hotel is located between the N. Bound & S. Bound lanes of PCH1.
The staff was great! Very accommodating and nice. The roof top lounge with the fire pit and the live entertainment was pleasant. The room was clean when we got there. It does have good beach access through the state park across the highway.
Air conditioning in the room didn't work well at all. Cookies were not available on demand. We were told that other guests had eaten them all. Not cool.
Location of property.
high price parking, as well as room service and buffett for breakfeast!...also finding location of hotel was very difficult!
the restrauant food and staff was great ....and a good value! ...the head staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful!....also as well, as parking staff!....maid service was great too!
Location to beach was great. Staff was very nice. Quiet for the most part. Valet service great.
Pool to small and jacuzzi wasn't working charged for parking
Bathroom was very small with a smell of mildew.
Close to the beach. Though there is no benches or umbrellas on it.
Parking fee was high, rooms could use an update and pool is small. They were out of cookies when we checked in!
Location, accommodating staff, pet friendly, decent gym and rooftop bar was happening!
Checking in I had spoken to 2 people , 1 staff on phone and the other in person prior to getting my room. I had told them that I had 2 separate reservations. They assured me that I would stay in the same room and not have to move. However on the last night , they told me I had to move all my things with my 5 yr old and my husband who is sick. I was not at hotel when they called me to move and had told me to hurry back to hotel .. So bad. That I had to drop what I was doing on my vacation to go back and pack. Horrible. We were so inconvince to pack up and move that we just left hotel and did not stay that night. Still charge me too for that night I was not even there. After all that , when I was loading up my car. The front desk then said I could now stay in my room after all. I said forget it. To much for us to now unload my car and return to room. Then unpack again. The food is horrible and service for drink times and food times are extremely long. I have been in the resturant business for over 15 years. I was disgusted .., I also could evaluate the amount of guest in dining as well as pool side. Not that many.
2nd floor Ocean view was partially a view of trailer park and some view of Doheny Beach. Should include breakfast when traveling with kids and a better continental breakfast for those who don't eat breakfast.
Room was nice. good family hotel. People were friendly. good exercise room and nice but small pool. Breakfast was good, for those who eat breakfast.
The 2nd room was on the freeway side (room 439). Sheets had to be changed on the sofa bed on arrival, chocolate on the sheets, that could have been from the cookie crumbs falling down onto the linen, the shower took 45 min to drain and the room had major traffic noise from the freeway. The room wasn't particularly clean looking. They were moved to room 432 the next day which was a much cleaner and quieter room with and ocean view. There was "methane sewer gas" smell coming from their bathroom that required leaving the bathroom and glass sliding door open to relieve the odor. In room 414 there were carpet stains under the coffee table and grease stains on the sofa.On the patio there were stains on the wall as if someone scraped there shoes on the wall when the came off the roof. I reported these concerns for the next guests on our departure.
I liked the ocean view 1 bedroom room layout with a large patio. (room 414)There was little traffic noise because it was not overlooking highway 1 and right across from the beach to enjoy the surf and sand. The staff was very pleasant and responded quickly to changing our keys 2 more times during our stay because we couldn't get in our room and moved our friends because of problems to be listed.
The bathrooms are small but there is a vanity, mirror, and bench in the room. The furniture was older but functioned fine and was clean. The hotel is scheduled for a major remodel later this year.
The view from our balcony was great! Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. Food in the Vino Lounge was very good as was the singer. All the employees were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a very good one. I would stay at this hotel again even before the renovations planned for later this year. If you are looking for a hotel that is close to the beach, has ocean views, and is close to everything, this is a great place to stay.
$22 parking fee
The ocean view was great.
