Closeness to the Charthouse, beach and town
Location of property.
Air conditioning in the room didn't work well at all. Cookies were not available on demand. We were told that other guests had eaten them all. Not cool.
the restrauant food and staff was great ....and a good value! ...the head staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful!....also as well, as parking staff!....maid service was great too!
high price parking, as well as room service and buffett for breakfeast!...also finding location of hotel was very difficult!
Location to beach was great. Staff was very nice. Quiet for the most part. Valet service great.
Pool to small and jacuzzi wasn't working charged for parking
Close to the beach. Though there is no benches or umbrellas on it.
Bathroom was very small with a smell of mildew.
Location, accommodating staff, pet friendly, decent gym and rooftop bar was happening!
Parking fee was high, rooms could use an update and pool is small. They were out of cookies when we checked in!
Checking in I had spoken to 2 people , 1 staff on phone and the other in person prior to getting my room. I had told them that I had 2 separate reservations. They assured me that I would stay in the same room and not have to move. However on the last night , they told me I had to move all my things with my 5 yr old and my husband who is sick. I was not at hotel when they called me to move and had told me to hurry back to hotel .. So bad. That I had to drop what I was doing on my vacation to go back and pack. Horrible. We were so inconvince to pack up and move that we just left hotel and did not stay that night. Still charge me too for that night I was not even there. After all that , when I was loading up my car. The front desk then said I could now stay in my room after all. I said forget it. To much for us to now unload my car and return to room. Then unpack again. The food is horrible and service for drink times and food times are extremely long. I have been in the resturant business for over 15 years. I was disgusted .., I also could evaluate the amount of guest in dining as well as pool side. Not that many.
Room was nice. good family hotel. People were friendly. good exercise room and nice but small pool. Breakfast was good, for those who eat breakfast.
2nd floor Ocean view was partially a view of trailer park and some view of Doheny Beach. Should include breakfast when traveling with kids and a better continental breakfast for those who don't eat breakfast.
I liked the ocean view 1 bedroom room layout with a large patio. (room 414)There was little traffic noise because it was not overlooking highway 1 and right across from the beach to enjoy the surf and sand. The staff was very pleasant and responded quickly to changing our keys 2 more times during our stay because we couldn't get in our room and moved our friends because of problems to be listed.
The 2nd room was on the freeway side (room 439). Sheets had to be changed on the sofa bed on arrival, chocolate on the sheets, that could have been from the cookie crumbs falling down onto the linen, the shower took 45 min to drain and the room had major traffic noise from the freeway. The room wasn't particularly clean looking. They were moved to room 432 the next day which was a much cleaner and quieter room with and ocean view. There was "methane sewer gas" smell coming from their bathroom that required leaving the bathroom and glass sliding door open to relieve the odor. In room 414 there were carpet stains under the coffee table and grease stains on the sofa.On the patio there were stains on the wall as if someone scraped there shoes on the wall when the came off the roof. I reported these concerns for the next guests on our departure.
The view from our balcony was great! Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. Food in the Vino Lounge was very good as was the singer. All the employees were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a very good one. I would stay at this hotel again even before the renovations planned for later this year. If you are looking for a hotel that is close to the beach, has ocean views, and is close to everything, this is a great place to stay.
The bathrooms are small but there is a vanity, mirror, and bench in the room. The furniture was older but functioned fine and was clean. The hotel is scheduled for a major remodel later this year.
The ocean view was great.
$22 parking fee
Excellent location, wonderful views of ocean. Breakfast buffet was great, not your typical cold cereal and bagels.
Located oddly between PCH and beach, GPS was helpful. Great location once you get there. Pricey parking @ $22 per night.
Actual room didn't live up to what was described. Blinds broken, coffee supplies not stocked, very small and awkward bathroom, room not cleaned. My "ocean view" was a view of the parking lot, highway, and RV park, and then ocean (Balcony overlooked parking lot). Not worth the money. My booking was incorrect (3 nights vs. 2) and the desk clerk told me he couldn't adjust it or help me at all, I'd have to contact Booking.com, which I did. They fixed the problem, but this was the first time I had a hotel refuse to assist me.
Service was very good staff is very nice. Balconies views are nice and location next to ocean is good. Cookies are nice touch.
This place is in need of a major remodel and the pool is very deceiving on the Web site. The cleanliness is poor but it is because everything is so old and outdated. Too bad a great staff has to work in such a dump. There was no Tylenol Advil or any thing for a headache available in the gift shop i find that unacceptable. Would not stay there again unless i got confirmation there was a remodel. Good service not enough to overcome hotels condition.
Dogs OK - $30/night, nice places to walk them nearby
appriciated the cookie offer upon arrival, and i liked the room we had in the building.
there was no mention of the parking fee ahead of time. surprise fees are a horrible, horrible, all bad situation. especially since there are no other parking options at your location.
Parking no complamentary anything 22$ for parking never again will i stay there.
Location excellent, staff very friendly. Rooftop lounge is the best!
A bit outdated in part.
Loved the warm chocolate chip cookie upon check in!
My credit card has 2 charges, $167 and $22 and booking.com told me my total was $134???
Staff was very friendly.
I left my ipad there and they were honest and shipped it back to me!
There was a party that night so it was loud.
The appearance of the hotel was very misleading from the pictures online. The hotel was trashy. There were fire alarms, power outages, sewage smells... I didn't expect that but now know better
Close to the beach
Really noisy from traffic on pacific coast highway.
It was clean enough. Good location.
It costs $22 per day to park at the hotel. We found this very deceitful as this was not advertised anywhere. You have no option but to pay an exorbitant amount to park your car. It's shameful and we will never stay there again.
