Spacious, comfortable and clean room. The staff was polite ,helpful and friendly. The location is great, nice neighborhood and so close to the subway and attractions.
The view was not great. Next, time would like a room with a direct view of Lexington Ave.
Wonderful free cookies!!!
I've stayed in many Double Trees before and I like the fact that they all offer great value for money. Rooms are modern, clean, and enough space for a desk to get work done. Also, I LOVE THE COOKIES.
The only downside of the hotel is that the elevators can get crowded during check in times. We only experienced it once during our stay because they had a large group coming into the hotel.
Location - Restaurant close
The rooms are very noisy. You can hear people walking in the corridor and also when someone close the door nearby. We waked up several times at nigh due to that and it is not easy to wake me up.
The location was okay in such a busy city! The hotel overall was very clean, as you would expect! The room itself (Queen Deluxe) didn't have a lot of space, having only stayed there for 2 nights I wouldn't reccomend staying much longer!
The price doesn't reflect the hotel/room or experience itself, I think because it's part of the 'hilton' brand it's more about the name than anything else, having said that there was nothing wrong with the hotel or staff :)
location. desk staff
room falling apart
Good location, quiet ,very clean, would stay again thank you
Food and drink very expensive
The location of the property can't be beat if your planned activities are in or around Midtown East. Also, the room was quiet and comfortable (high floor on the 51st St. side). The staff members who were helpful, were very much so, and thoroughly pleasant.
Unfortunately, I found that in terms of Reception staff, there was no middle ground regarding their demeanor and helpfulness... in my experience, it was pretty binary. Those who were helpful (in fairness, the majority of those I encountered and dealt with during my stay) were tremendously pleasant and accommodating. I found that one reception staff member in particular, however, seemed to be rather fully disinterested in hearing about my needs or requests, and certainly not inclined to attend to them. Perhaps she was just having a bad day.
I got a booking for 5 nights for less then 200 USD per night (on average) - amazing price for NY.
In addition to the overall booking price the hotel blocked approx. 500 USD on my card for incidentals. That's a bit too much and it takes a bit long for them to unblock it.
Parking staff were helpful in spite of chaotic drop off.
Specifically asked to be away from elevators but put in a room where we backed onto the shaft so we could hear the doors opening and closing, as well as the constant up and down as it worked through out the night and day. Add the fact that the shower head was mounted a little over 3 feet from the floor of the tub, which made it all but impossible to shower and rinse with any degree if ease....staff either did not care or could not read. Skip the chocolate chip cookie and give me a room that works...
The staff was nice and helpful in getting cabs, suggesting places for the kids. They extended or checkout time and held our luggage so we could tour the city before we left. For the little bit of time we spent in he room, it was fine for the money. Easy walk to Rockefeller Center and American Girl doll store.
The room was fine and the bed was excellent. All was clean and tidy.
I was hassled by some man coming into the hotel, which was upsetting. The price was way too high. The guest shampoo, conditioner and cream were tidy and it was hard to get the lotions out of the bottles.
Good staff & good locaion & good beakfast
The hotel is very well located, it's few block away from 5th ave (5 blocks) and about 3 blocks away from United Nations Plaza. I really enjoy after a long day/night in NYC having a comfortable room with a really good bed, the best: it's quiet!
There was not a coffee maker on the room but thanks to the hotel location there is plenty coffee places near by.
Location, bed, linen.
The $2 charge to leave the bag seems out of place in a hotel that charges $200+ a night. It is just annoying...
GAVE ME A HANDICAP ROOM AND I AM 21!!! TERRIBLE
Free wifi in rooms
Cleaning staff loud in the mornings. Also if my checkout is at 12pm there's no need to know at 9am, very unnecessary.
No air condition, the hotel solution, open your window.
Great location. Relatively cheap.
The bed is too jumpy The staff is sometimes out of patience The room's wifi costs 15$ per day per device !!! And it's in very low quality. The free lobby wifi is also in very low signal quality.
location right above subway stations
No free WiFi, no coffee maker, no fridge Small lobby relative to the size of this hotel No views whatsoever outside my window. Better keep the curtains closed.
The Doubletree does the trick if you want to stay conveniently in mid-town for a reasonable price. The room is very comfortable although not luxurious. I am a repeat customer and find the overall experience very pleasant.
Vicki at the desk was fantastic. She noticed we only had one queen for the two of us. She said my son should not sleep on the floor and upgraded our room and a free breakfast. Happy thanksgiving!
No coffee in room. Bsthroom too small
BBar too small
I thought that the convenience to the subway to be convenient and the various restaurants nearby were walkable.
The room temperature was way off and I had to have someone try to reduce the heat. It went up to 76 degrees.
Blanket was uncomfortable. Lack of teapot is a minus
