Tea wasn't replenished
15 minute walk to Times Sq, 5 to Herald Sq. Staff was always helpful and smiling. Plenty of hot water. Great discount on parking, paid $25 per night.
A little worn in spots.
There was construction noise in the middle of the night.
Rooms particularly small & poor lift services
staff were very helpful & friendly
A couple blocks from the subway, or a nice walk to the Empire State Building and Times Square. Affiliated parking across the street was very reasonably priced.
Neighborhood good but not great. Ordered a room with Empire State view, but got a room on the other side of the hotel. Missed the 24-hour parking cutoff by 30 minutes and was charged an extra day.
Very clean, great location close to main NYC tourist attractions and lots of subway lines. Although you want to be in an area amongst nice bars and restaurants further downtown would be preferable. Staff were helpful and responsive, especially the bellboys. Value for money in Midtown NYC.
Very good location, easy to find, close to paddington station.
location free internet bed
Wild privacy/check in policy: the hotel was NOT full. We had made two separate room reservations. One of us is Hilton Honor Diamond level... In spite of that we could not check in into one room since a flight was delayed and the person's name on the reservation was still in the air. We had two people sharing that room. Had to make a confcall and needed the room. We had to wait till 9pm to check into a prepaid company booked room! We showed them business cards and credit card under which the reservation was made and paid. No luck. Worst case scenario: we were lying to them they would have sold one more room. The manager never showed up to talk to us. We will never stay at this hotel again.
The convenience of the location and the ease of checking in and out.
The staff was very nice, and the overall stay was comfortable and relaxing
The Hotel has all the amenities one would wish for. Front desk staff were excellent. The location is perfect for first time visitors. One exceptional staff was Les in the Restaurant who went out her way to ensure my small niggle was sorted in a most pleasing and unexpected manner..
Staff were super friendly even at 1am when I arrived. Also very helpful the next day, holding bags and sorting a cab.
The Location was excellent, close to Times Square
No views of the city from my hotel room
Very nice hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room size was about average for this level of hotel. very clean and well located
The room smelled like stale cigarettes. It took 20 minutes to check in because the one person at the desk spent this much time giving directions to the person in front of me. They charged me a different rate than my booking confirmation (it was corrected). Not a 4 star hotel.
When I arrived after a 8 hour flight at 1am, the staff informed me that there was a "water leak" in my room (code for "oops, we overbooked the hotel"), and sent me in a taxi to a holiday Inn express for the night. Even though my stay was for 2 nights, they would not let me stay at the HIX for both nights and made me pack my stuff up and move back to their hotel the second night. All this for a tiny smelly dirty room for an insane rate.
Excellent location. Excellent views. Free wifi in rooms.
the welcome cookie the view of Empire Building from our window
Rooms were clean though small (to be expected given the area). It was very close to MSG (our main reason for visiting NYC) and Penn Station (how we arrived in NYC). Close to start of Highline linear park which is FABULOUS.
A problem with the whole of this part of Manhattan in a hot July - the streets around STANK of rotting rubbish (garbage) etc. Piles of bin bags on the pavement (sidewalk). Not Hilton's fault, just a problem of the area.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Guest services was quick, knowlegeable and even gave me an extra cookie.
Upon check-in, I was informed that the kind of room I had reserved i.e. a room with a view wasn't available. The room I got felt very tight. If you weren't on the bed, you we're about 1 foot from a wall. I had to visit 3 different floors to find a vending machine with snacks and not just soda.
The location to times square.
The hot water went out and the manager's attitude was unacceptable. He lied several times to cover up previous statements and offered a breakfast sandwich in compensation. The problem was only fixed when it was threatened to call hilton headquarters.
A hotel with this size should have more than 2 small elevators. There is no separate service elevator, so cleaning staff, bell boys taking luggage and all guests need to use two small elevators. We ended up walking 4 stairs most of the time - both up and down, as the elevators, when they arrived, were full (going down), or had a long queue going up.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The carpets in my room had stains on them. The bathroom tiles in the shower were broken. The view was of an abandoned building. It did not reflect my expectation.
$50 per day incidental charge added without explanation, sharing elevator and entry with garbage cans, terrible elevator service.
