The Location was excellent, close to Times Square
No views of the city from my hotel room
Excellent location. Excellent views. Free wifi in rooms.
the welcome cookie the view of Empire Building from our window
Rooms were clean though small (to be expected given the area). It was very close to MSG (our main reason for visiting NYC) and Penn Station (how we arrived in NYC). Close to start of Highline linear park which is FABULOUS.
A problem with the whole of this part of Manhattan in a hot July - the streets around STANK of rotting rubbish (garbage) etc. Piles of bin bags on the pavement (sidewalk). Not Hilton's fault, just a problem of the area.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Guest services was quick, knowlegeable and even gave me an extra cookie.
Upon check-in, I was informed that the kind of room I had reserved i.e. a room with a view wasn't available. The room I got felt very tight. If you weren't on the bed, you we're about 1 foot from a wall. I had to visit 3 different floors to find a vending machine with snacks and not just soda.
The location to times square.
The hot water went out and the manager's attitude was unacceptable. He lied several times to cover up previous statements and offered a breakfast sandwich in compensation. The problem was only fixed when it was threatened to call hilton headquarters.
A hotel with this size should have more than 2 small elevators. There is no separate service elevator, so cleaning staff, bell boys taking luggage and all guests need to use two small elevators. We ended up walking 4 stairs most of the time - both up and down, as the elevators, when they arrived, were full (going down), or had a long queue going up.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The carpets in my room had stains on them. The bathroom tiles in the shower were broken. The view was of an abandoned building. It did not reflect my expectation.
$50 per day incidental charge added without explanation, sharing elevator and entry with garbage cans, terrible elevator service.
The people how work in the hotel they r so kind :)
The rate was chaned
Location. Near Penn station and right in the middle of "everything". All within walking distance.
Nothing really disturbing.
We liked the friendly, helpful staff especially Frantz, the bellboy, and the comfortable room. Also the location was excellent.
There was some mold in the bathroom that needed some attention.
Most of the staff great. The room size was good for NY standards.
Was not impressed with the housekeeping staff. Our room was not cleaned.
very close to times square, about 15 mins walk. Lots of nice breakfast places within 10 minutes walking distance. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Staff makes thinks better and your staff were all very helpful and positive.
Just a little mold in the shower.
small closet,no minibar (fridge),
Price was still a little high.
Hotel Staff informed us that our reservation was not sent to the hotel from booking.com, it was pure luck that they could accommodate us in a room with a 'last minute reservation'.
Only two elevators
Price, cleanliness, size of room, etc. The cookies are a good touch.
Clean, well maintained. Good gym
Neighborhood is dark and a little sketchy at night... Room had coffee, but no coffee maker.
I stayed on the 7th floor. Not much of a view, but it didn't matter. The room was immaculate, had plenty of space, and was nice and cozy. The bed was comfy too. I like the idea that the hallway was compact, with two emergency fire exit stairwells close by. There are a bar and small restaurant in the lobby, which adds a nice touch. I heard some people complain about the slow elevators. I disagree. They were fine. Of course, with 20+ floors, you'll have to wait a short bit. People today are so impatient. I didn't wait more than 3-4 minutes. We will be back to stay at this hotel.
The warm cookie at checkin.
Hotel was being recarpeted in preparation for superbowl crowd, theroom nent to my was where all the carpet supplies were stored. Around midnight, i spoke with one of the many carpet installer that were constantly in and out of the "storage" room, he told me they were behind on their istallation deadline schedule and would be working until the job was complete. At 11:30 when I chrcked out, there were still working. 2. Was never able to get the wifi to work, nor was the pay per veiw system operational -technical issue. I understand the need to improve & upgrade infrastructure, but it should not be at the expense of guest services nor quality of rest.
staff was incredibly kind and helpful
