My sister and I were up in Portland for the Justin Timberlake concert. We arrived at the hotel and were impressed by the location and how convenient it was for multiple purposes. We were able to get an early check in. The staff was great and helpful with any questions we had. We were right across from the max station which was great to get to the Mods center for the concert. Would definitely choose this again!
Easy to use Max or a cab for a night in the town.
The view of Macy's and the pool being outdoors and closed.
Loved the bed and the view!
There was no mini fridge?!!! This was the premium deluxe king room...how is there no fridge?
The staff was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We also got a lot of great suggestions for restaurants nearby from the front desk. The facilities are really nice and well designed, props to the architect.
Some things got missed in our room when it was cleaned before we got there. The shower drain cover was broken off so there was just loose metal on top of a hole in the floor. The bathroom fan didn't work so the bathroom got really steamy every time we showered. There were a few leftover stains on the comforter so we ended up sleeping without it. There was an empty pill capsule left on the desk… not sure what that used to be… And it looked as if the people that used the room before us had covered the smoke detector with a bag so that they could smoke or something, but the bag was never removed so the smoke detector wouldn't have worked had there been a fire.
Cost?? Will go somewhere else next time.
Clean, great friendly service.
Wish there was a mini fridge in the room. Had leftovers that we couldn't store.
Clean lobby, clean room.
Windows couldn't be open, but when I turn the ventilator : it blows right at where you sleep. Room is not large and doesn't look even close to the price for it. Paid parking. Way to parking is not clean : those back corridors had rust, dirt and holes in the ceiling.
The beds and bathroom
Room was nice. Very clean. Coffee really good.
Price, a little noisy.
24-hr room service is not available
The room was large and comfortable with a view of the city from the 10th floor. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff with whom I came in contact were helpful, polite, and obviously enjoyed their employment there.
My sister and I wanted to get either a wine or a brandy after attending the Elton John concert and discovered the bar was closed at 11 PM. We arrived at 11:10. It was a Thursday night. I was told the bar stays open on Fridays and Saturdays until 12.
Quiet, comfy rooms. Nice atmosphere. Modern lobby and rooms.
A bit far from Portland's more hip neighbourhoods; parking is not free.
I liked the location as well as the restaurant in the hotel good food and good service. Everyone was super helpful and friendly.
When I booked I was under the impression that it was for two queen beds when we got to the hotel it was only one bed in the room. When I called the front desk they said they have a lot of confusion regarding booking.com bookings on the rooms and agreed to switch me for an additional fee. The switch was made easily enough we just got the room right next to the elevator which made for a loud stay in our room.
-Nice and clean and simple -Lemon water in the lobby (nice refreshment when you're coming back from a hot summer day stroll)
-You have to drive or take LRT to get to the other side of the bridge to be in downtown
I was very impressed by the staff. They were all very friendly and took the time to see that all my questions & needs were taken care of.They greeted me with a smile every time I approached one.I had a noisy neighbor in the room next to my first room so the girl at the front desk gladly upgraded me to another room after hearing what my concerns were and then learning that it was my birthday she sent up a plate of "goodies" for me to enjoy ( fresh fruit, some fruit mix and 2 chocolate bars0 Plus a birthday card signed by some of the staff working that night. I also had a wonderful dinner in one of the restaurants by the lobby and my waiter was so kind & also very helpful. Both my rooms were very clean & nice & so was the hotel. I wish you to know that your staff made my birthday stay very enjoyable & one I wont soon forget. I will be recommending Double Tree Hotel Portland ( Lloyd Center) to others. Great Job! Signed a very satisfied customer. Ps, I Will be back To stay at your property
Tiny room Near elevator, noise throughout the night. The "comp" breakfast wasn't "comp." Old water stains in the ceiling tile.
Convenience to shopping, transportation and entertainment and downtown.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. The nearby construction wasn't even a bothersome.
Location was the only thing was good
Everything from smell of the carpets to the poor condition of the hotel. The air condition was so loud that we had to turn it off and sleep in warm room, plus you can hear everything the door has gap of two inches from the ground. We booked for 3 nights and had to cancel and book else where for the remaining of trip.
Walking distance to llyod center and max train
Very good internet connection (with coupon). No problem with remote screen sharing, video teleconferencing, etc. Breakfast buffet seems OK (did not actually try it). Will stay there again.
Room was a little small, even for a solo traveler. $20 per night for parking seems very high.
Concierge was poor on info on public transport. They should inform guests that transport is right across the street.
Very comfortable and classy accommodations. Our rooms were on the 8th floor on the quiet ( non-construction) side overlooking a lovely park. Given some of the bad reviews, we were a bit worried, but found it to be a gem. One of our rooms was not ready when we checked in at 5pm, the clerk was apologetic and gave us vouchers for small plates at the bar, which became our yummy dinner. Staff was all friendly, courteous, efficient, and seemed happy to be there - a good sign in any establishment! We watched the sunset from the 15th floor lobby and enjoyed the view up and down on the outside elevator. The bathrooms are especially well-designed and the shower is great! Good value, with pleasant surprises all around...
We were very glad we read reviews before we went and asked for a room on 8th floor or above on the quiet side. The lower floors on the other side of the hotel would certainly be effected by the massive construction project just across the street...but we were VERY happy!
Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable hotel. The location was perfect. It was convenient to restaurants, nightlife, and downtown. They resolved the problem with overcharging us for the room on our initial invoice very quickly and courteously.
They put our invoice under the door sometime between 2 am and 7 am. It is kind of creepy to wake up with a piece of paper slipped under the door while you sleep. The invoice was for a much higher rate than I had booked on Booking.com, so it was a little disturbing first thing in the morning. The fan in our bathroom didn't work. There was a lot of construction and road closures in the area, which made it a little difficult to get to the hotel.
Location was awesome and the hotel was great, staff were very friendly
Had to pay for parking!
Even tho this is a large conference hotel, service felt very personal. The young man, a trainee, at guest services was particularly helpful. The hotel is well appointed and has a very nice outdoor pool...unusual for a city hotel. The light rail stops right outside the door of the hotel so it is possible to get around the city without using a car.
Like many of the Hilton properties, wifi is not available in guest rooms unless you pay $15 per day. You have to sit in the lobby or business center to connect to the internet. A major annoyance, especially since this is not an inexpensive hotel.
