Location and facilities.brad the concierge was great ! And pool bar staff were good
All the extra add ons : resort fee. Compulsory charge to credit card of £150 a night. Brad was great concierge. Reception staff were a bit sneery if you queried the charges .
Staff were very helpful. Liked the complimentary glass of wine early evening. Didn't have long enough to make use of all hotel facilities. Unfortunately didn't stay long enough to make use of all hotel facilities. Recommend valet parking even though it seemed expensive.
exellent Location at the center of southbeach, perfect at the beach ..the room was what we expected.. clean and professional all the way trough! i can recommend this to everybody. very cool and young vibe ..
the breakfast was of good quality, but i would recommend the hotel to offer bigger portions and choices to the people that included breakfast in their reservation.
Perfect location. A few steps from the beach (no street crossing). Friendly staff. Cool atmosphere. Good music everywhere. Very good quality of food. Very comfortable and large bed. Good wifi everywhere (even at the beach!). Wine tasting at 5pm (although it's mostly always the same wine). Luz and Martin at the reception who were very friendly and had good recommendations. Not a huge hotel like other ones on Collins avenue, which makes Surfcomber unique. We recommend!!!
The room wasn't well cleaned during our 11 nights stay, we complained many times but it was still poorly cleaned. Beach umbrella not included in USD 20 resort fee. Being obliged to pay tips when ordering drinks directly at pool bar!!! No children's pool and no playground around the swimming pool. No shower at the beach.
the staff were absolutely the best. From Latif at the front door to Mercedes on the desk. They met you with a smile and eager to help we were treated like kings and with the utmost respect. Love this little hotel
The elevator was broken
Great location near the beach, walking paths, restaurants, shopping etc. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Restaurant food was not to my liking.
Great staff who make you feel like you are family! They go above and beyond to make your stay the best! If you forget anything they will get it for you!!! Free wine hour is always a great time and a great way to meet other guests!
- great location - pool and beach access - friendly staff
- team forgot to clean our room (twice in a 4 day stay, we had to remind them 3 times) - badly soundproofed
Liked the location right on Collins Ave. Close to Lincoln Rd Mall and Ocean Drive. Lovely grounds, friendly pool staff.
Saturday by the pool and the extra loud music which the majority of guests were unhappy about and the staff refused to reduced the noise despite multiple guests requesting this. Being charged $20 for an umbrella at the beach!
Everything was really excellet and believe me I travel quite a lot and spend at least 150 nights each year in Hotels around the world! The entire staff was really nice and helpfull! Congratulations! A very interesting fact, I booked the Hotel through booking.com so I did not even bother to provide my Kimpton Karma Rewards card as usually Hotel Chains do not grant you any upgrades if you do not book direct, well upon arrival they greeted me as a Karma Member and granted me an upgraded room, free wife and the $ 10 credit! Too bad I do not travel too often to Miami but be sure I will be back sooner or later.
The location is great, staff could not be more accommodating and the room was comfortable. Loved the coffee in the AM and the wine in the evening. Kimpton Hotels are always make your stay with a touch of the Bed and Breakfast feel.
My room was upgraded, but still felt small. Hate to see how small a regular room would have been.
I thought for what I spent I would have a slightly nicer room as i was on first floor with view of next door wall and no natural light
location is great, on the beach, low build building, nice pool area onto boardwalk, just at end of 17th st
Watch out, a 'premium' double is automatically street-facing, which is noisy. Cool young things staff, service not always attentive. Miami-like, music blares around pool so loud it is hard to take, from early to late.
courteous staff location
Tiny rooms zero view cost of rooms to high for what you got
The location is really good The staff are very nice
The room was very simple
Friendly, efficient staff, clean and comfortable. Close to all amenities and beach. Particular mention to Pat at the bar pool who was warm and welcoming, she gave great advice as to where to eat and did an excellent job as bartender! Nice detail of free tea/coffee in the lobby each morning but even nicer was the complimentary wine each evening from 5 to 6pm!
prices at the bar were a pit steep and to be honest I would be scraping the bottom of the barrel to find anything else!!!
Pool, Location, Free Wifi, Complimentary Coffee&Tea
Very friendly and helpful staff (from reception to the guys at the door, everyone!) Jenny was able to get us a better rate for the rental car which can be delivered to the hotel and will also be picked up there again - very convenient! Very good looking female staff!! Thumbs up!! We stayed 4 nights but took advantage of the wine hour only once which was a shame as the wine was very nice. Booking tours through the hotel also worked very well.
Walls quite thin. Already paying 20 something dollars per day resort fee which includes towels and chairs at the beach, to get an umbrella down there costs an extra 19 (!!) $ per day which seems like a rip off. Overall very enjoyable stay though.
Free wine between 5-6pm.
Length of time we waited for tea & toast in our room.
From the moment I arrived until I left the service was great
Very friendly helpfull hospitable staff
The duvet is not in a closed cover and gets exposed
Welcoming and helpful staff Well-serviced beach (easy access) and pool (great one) Happy hour (complimentary wine and snacks) Good food and drinks at their restaurant and bar in the lobby Facilitate access to big clubs in the city
Valet parking quite slow Rooms are relatively small Limited facilities for a 4-star hotel
Aaron, the food & beverage manager was very pleasant and helpful. Jodi, who was new to Kimpton and served us wine at the social in the lobby on 10-7 was very friendly and service oriented. Summer the pool bartender took excellent care of us and was fun to talk too. Andrea who was an outside vendor for the beach was great to deal with. Both of the Bellmen were great (sorry I forgot both names) and very accomodating. The valet, Latheef (hope I spelled it correctly) was an awesome representative of the Kimpton service model. After meeting him for the first time, we were called by our first names the remainder of our stay. He would even go out of his way and make it a point to greet us! Service was outstanding!
The only employee we met that did not live up to the Kimpton service expectations was the young lady (did not get her name) at the front desk (the one without glasses) both mornings on 10-9 & 10-10. I had a complaint about the umbrella charges at the beach and she blew it off as though I was not being honest with my experience. The next morning when we checked out, we had requested a bellman at checkout as well as the previous evening. After waiting in the lobby for about 20-25 minutes for our bags, I questioned the front desk and her reply was that "there was no one in the room when he knocked". Really? How could I let him in after checking out and turning the keys in? We were sitting right across from her in the lobby! I would have expected to have been approached concerning the fact that they did not get a response at the door and not have had to ask her about it again.
The hotel was in a good position close to the beach and the popular Lincoln Rd. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. It was nice to have happy hour with free wine and nibbles. A dry nice hotel.
I guess I would have to say personally I disliked the rainwater shower. The room could have been a little bigger.
The staff is fantastic. Very warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel is overall clean. Can't beat the location.
The rooms need major work. The windows are in really bad shape. The noise from the outside (adjacent hotel (SLS), the cars on the street, and the drunk crowd does not stop until 4 am. 4 AM!!! Even on a Sunday! There is nothing the hotel can do about this other than providing earplugs! This hotel really nickle and dimes you! There is a $20/day resort fee charge that they do tell you about. But then everything you want to get has an additional charge. For instance the beach chairs are included, the umbrella is not. SPF 15 sunscreen is included, SPF 15+ is not. Why not just charge $50 resort fee or however much they want instead of reminding you every 5 minutes that this is included and that is not!!!
