Score from 4050 reviews Good
The funky new age urban design, in the lobby, rooms and throughout the hotel. The rooftop pool was a great place to hang out and lap up the sun while having a cold beverage. Loved the rooftop bar and the overall vibe at the hotel.
A little bit pricey, but I would stay there again. Had to wait for our rooms to be ready well after the official check in time.
Location, clubs, pool, and the "scene." Very swanky impressive sounding hotel in a good area. Staff is wonderful.
Rooms are fine, just over priced. If money's not an issue, go for it. But I think a comparative hotel like the Bowery has better rooms (granted, location makes a big difference)
The accommodations were beautiful and the staff were excellently trained and so helpful.
Our room was in the North Tower and the first night of our stay we did hear a lot of music from the 2nd floor pool bar and lounge.
Location & great team
Restaurant poor breakfast
- Good location - Clean - Good bathroom - Room service was prompt and food was good
- Uncomfortable bed - Lots of noise both from the hallways and the other rooms. - Very small room - Extremely expensive - Basic Gym - Overly focused on being a niteclub
Lovely pool area. Good location for the meat packing shops, restaurants and bars. Recommend upgrading to larger room if you can as the standard are very small. (Standard in NYC)
Pot luck with the staff... some are lovely and helpful. Others really think they are doing you a favour by doing their job. Food and drinks very expensive.
clean, new, very modern. friendly.
Dream Hotel Downtown had a hip vibe with outstanding guest services. Would highly recommend this hotel. The pool and rooftop bar were a plus.
The lobby smelled odd. maybe it was the leather or the cow hide on the floor, but it struck me as soon as we would walk in.
Every staff of the hotel made us feel absolutely welcome, appreciated..
Diming lights; good pasta
Drizzle shower; plugged up sink; dirty floor moldings; sloppy paint on the wall; warped door plastic; overly priced room service with gratuity and room serve charge added; water that costs $10; the price quoted was increased after the reservation was made due tot he US Open
Location Fancy&Stylish room interior Service Swimming Pool
Service was slow Our original room stunk of smoke Room service was awful
Excellent concierge service. Thank you Erin for arranging our meals! The pool food was quite. Good! Beautiful decoration! Nice atmosphere at the pool
Rooms are just too noisy. We would wake up every evening with drunken guests screaming at the Hall around 4am, when the clubs were closed. We stayed at the same level of the pool. Complained every night and they could not sort out their security problem... Two out of six nights our room was not cleaned on time. By 5pm we had to request it to the housekeeping service.
nice decor hotel staff fairly friendly was able to move rooms good view good location
had to move rooms loud throughout night (didn't sleep at all the first night) thin walls put by elevator (1st night) rude nightclub bouncers
The location was perfect for us as we were keen on seeing some of the tourist sites but also experiencing some of the 'off the beaten track' stuff around Chelsea and Soho. Dream Downtown is surrounded by a wealth of fantastic restaurants and bars and even has its own rooftop bar on the 12th floor with a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline. The staff were extremely courteous and approachable, especially the bell hops. As it was our honeymoon, we were treated to a room upgrade, a bottle of wine on arrival and a box of truffles on departure with personalised notes accompanying each. The room had some excellent features, including a frosted-glass bathroom and a privacy button in place of the traditional 'do not disturb' signs. Housekeeping do a couple of runs throughout the day so, if you are wanting a bit of a lie in, you don't need to worry about your towels not getting changed (just don't forget to switch off the privacy button when you leave the room)! Housekeeping also deliver complimentary bottles of water to the room every night. The rooftop pool was a fantastic addition for us, as we also wanted to take regular breaks from the chaos and noise of the city. The waiting staff and lifeguard are all very attentive and the food and drink options are plentiful.
While the restaurant and bar prices are fairly reasonable for the area, the minibar is very expensive. Items in the minibar are also placed on touch sensitive pads which automatically charge the room after thirty seconds if an item is removed - we were charged for items that shifted around when we opened the cupboard door. However, the staff was very obliging when we explained the mistake to them. You also have to be a little bit savvy with the wifi - there is no mention in the room guides of the free mobile wifi, only a chargeable Ethernet option. Once we phoned the front desk to ask about a free alternative, they happily supplied us with the password for our phones.
I loved the location, room, and kind staff.
the bathroom shower bench and knobs were falling off.
The hotel style and atmosphere The pool (small but nice to have!) The size of the room
The A/C is inside the room, making it very noisy when turned on.
Location and vibe.. Definitely a party hotel..
Terrible ironing board.. Stop skimping and buy a full sized one, so I can actually iron a shirt properly when needed..
Everything pool room service
The beds The bathroom No noise from street Poolview Pool Interior Breakfast place
Noise of the doors in bedroom ( no stopper) Too loud music in pool and lobby Soft shower Small rooms ( as in whe of ny)
I paid almost $500 dollars for a room and couldn't even use anything In it...then we couldn't even get into the club
Really spacious room with gorgeous view, and quiet - 10th floor. Nice bathroom too! Staff very nice.
Pool -lots of "reserved"chaises but no one sitting in them for quite some time...would be good to have times and/or time limits for those reservations.
Proximity to restaurants etc
noise levels to high and bed uncomfortable and needs replacing.
