our air conditioner didn't really work and the sink didn't drain properly. but it was great to be able to open the window with a view of the Empire State building!
the staff, decor, waiter in cafe was adorable, fun for both me (mother, 51) and my law school shopping daughter (22).
The wifi is so weak, it took several minutes to load even the simplest web page. The hotel is a party destination, so if you want to relax and sleep, forget it. The rooms are small, and our bedlinen had holes in it. The bathroom walls are made of glass which doesn't block any sound or visuals from the bedroom.
The staff were lovely. The location is very handy. There are some cool design flourishes.
We loved everything.
Loved the design of the hotel, it's perfectly located; close to very good restaurants, the High Line, Chelsea Market, shops in the Meatpacking District, art galleries in Chelsea. A walking distance from the West Village (Bleecker Street).
noise was terrible. 2 out of 8 nights no sleep. The result was that we were less than top fit for our visits around town. Other than "we'll try to give you a discount for your next stay" no satisfactory result. I had asked before the stay to be put somewhere quite as I had heard about the nightclub and supposedly floor 7 is where the put corporate clients. Bad luck then if you are not.. We where put on the floor but it clearly did not help. Wash basin clogged on first day and reported but not acted upon. Internet unusable, but was give a code to the faster offering. A real shame but a hip nightclub and a hotel simply do not go together unless managed by the same persons so that hotel guests are respected.
very (perhaps too) trendy, design. Staff particularly attentive.
Main areas of the hotel are in great condition, the room was looking abit tired, the wallpaper was marked and worn in a number of places and the furnishings were also damaged. The free internet was extremely slow it was not usable. However I would definitely go back.
Great design, friendly staff
room was not as large as I am used to on business travels worldwide, but I understand that NYC rooms are oftentimes smaller than the global norm.
Excellent location, friendly staff, interesting nightclub.
A bit of a queue for PHD and no 'hotel guest priority' but worth the wait!!
Staff, location and rooms all great!!
The room was a little small but i booked based on price for a quick staycation. Also, we seemed to be right next to the laundry room so the wall was shaking during the day, but we weren't in the room much so it was fine.
I thought the staff went above and beyond to make me an my children comfortable. This isn't really a kid friendly hotel, but they were all very nice and offered to help constantly, from the front desk to the waiters the the valets.
The noise of other guests during the night was terrible and two nights of the three we stayed were sleepless. The hotel said they would give us half a nights credit but they did not. They do not check their security cameras during the night and people were wandering around the hotel floors shouting. It was a most disturbing place to stay.
Rooms, bed and location.
Music in lobby and bar is very loud; if you stay on the higher floors, the noise of the rooftop-bar can keep you awake at night as can returning guests (room Isolation is not great);
Location is very good, style of the hotel is very Hip, the service is what you can expect at this price level
I think it is a little annoying that they announce a mini fridge as an amenity, but fail to mention that it is packed with minibar items, that you will be charged if you move them. There are censors in the fridge to ensure this and we couldent even fit a small bottle of water!
Very nice showers
Poor wifi throughout building - shower head not very powerful - twice the room was not cleaned/made up --- overall it was good stay but the wifi issue needs to be resolved as It impacted some online work I needed to do
The bed was amazing most comfortable bed ever slept on
Internet breakfast too expensive
mattress not everyone likes a very very soft mattress
location and service are the best
Customer service was excellent.
Welcoming staff. Wondeful location. Easy access to cabs and subway. Rooms were perfect and comfortable.
Wifi is free but very slow. Sometimes noisy at night (music and people). Didn't bother us, but is good to know when your selecting a hotel for your stay.
Million dollar views from room and rooftop bar. Beautiful venue. Great location. Comfy beds. Hip and original look. The whole Dream downtown experience is great!
Our stay at the dream downtown was wonderful. The room was nice, the bed super comfortable and the atmospehere at the hotel is fun and trendy. If you like to hang out in the fancy Meatpacking district, I would recommed staying at the dream.
Great staff. PH-D is a great bar to hang out with excellent small plates
We stayed on floor 2 in a double double deluxe room. The walls between rooms was paper thin- could hear tv on like it was ours. Also the wall between our bathroom & our room was so flimsy/needed reinforcing. Wouldn't want to put too much weight on it!
Convenient boutique hotel in Chelsea, close to everything yet away from street traffic at night.
They didn't clean our room for our two night stay but besides that it was great
They were awesome. Very accommodating
WiFi is way to slow for 2015. The noise from the rooftop lounge parties several days a week makes it really hard to get a good nights sleep, especially on the higher floors, they play music until 3-4 at night.
Location was good and checkin staff very friendly. The gym could have been better with some more equipment.
The hotel is really noisy on the weekends. The walls are super thin, you can hear everything on the room next door!
Loved the decor, the location, the bed and the shower.
Very busy hotel. A lot of extra traffic walking through the lobby of people not guests using the facilities of hotel.
The design of the interior of the hotel was amazing. Plenty of eating options available in the hotel and the area. Atmosphere in lobby great.
