location, staff attentiveness, cleanliness
I would recommend the hotel to anyone
The hotel was fantastic, with great staff and room comfort. The pictures don't do justice to the place. It's cozy and peaceful, with a local feel to the neighbourhood. If you are thinking of a stay away from the city buzz, look no further.
The rooms towards the inside can get warm, so open the windows and use the fan provided.
Location, room, services, and staff.
Everything, the great romos, the location, the attention to detail, the breakfasts, the staff at the hotel, especiallly at the breakfast room
I loved the location - not too close to all the tourist traps but close to enough to feel connected to everything. The breakfast was awesome and the staff were very helpful, especially with respect to everything to see and do in the area.
Although my room was very comfortable and spacious, I wasn't that thrilled my view looked out to a retaining wall of sorts, perhaps if i was told what the view was, I would have opted to accept the upgrade I was offered for a slightly higher fee.
I loved everything about my stay - but especially the "little" things they do to make guests feel special. The newspaper in the morning is wrapped in a lovely bag, they left me a small departing gift to help me travel, cookies are left in the room for a late night nosh - everything is done with an eye toward customer service. This hotel is excellent.
Loved the wines tasting & awesome assortment of appetizers every day late afternoon! Lovely breakfast! Very friendly staff! Walking distance to restaurants! Beautiful, safe, quiet neighbourhood! Close to Golden Gate Bridge, Pier, shopping districts, & sites!
To be honest everything! From the warm welcome, to the room, the breakfast and last but not least the late afternoon wine reception - we loved it all! Honestly there is nothing bad we can say. May be that it is not in the middle of San Francisco - but actually that makes an other positive point from out point of view.
The warm, friendly atmosphere of the hotel. The staff made our stay really special and it was a pleasure to return here every day after sightseeing. The 5pm apero (wine and a selection of food, cheeses, meatballs) was a lovely touch and something we looked forward to each day. It felt like home from home. Would love to return one day.
Breakfast and wine reception are nice touches.
Very clean, comfortable, light. Attentive staff. Lovely neighborhood. Old-fashioned feeling, but in very good condition. Many thoughtful touches--morning paper, ice brought to room, etc.
We booked a suite, quite expensive but extremely pleasant. We were pretty surprised at the noise at night. Not from the street (it is a very quiet neighborhood), but from tv and snoring that we could here from other rooms. Un-secure wifi, works okay but I didn't want to use it.
Location. Staff were fantastic - not fussy but very helpful. Wine tasting at 5pm was excellent. Totally delightful.
We felt spoiled the entire stay.
Beautiful and charming hotel. Don't miss the free cheese and wine reception or the morning breakfast. Perfect vacation hotel
Street parking was available but limited
this is an hotel that sets the standards that others seldom can rise to, nothing is too much trouble and the attention to detail to ensure your stay is in perfect comfort is amazing. whilst not central this is no disadvantage, transport is nearby and they have a chauffer service in the mornings and taxies are easily available, the advantage is that the locality is blissfully quiet.
in a word, nothing!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very charming, with a great location and terrific views. Great value for money.
The location is fabulous in SF's most desirable neighborhood. Wonderful for walking and good restaurants. I particularly liked having the option to upgrade to a suite with lovely views. Great breakfast, complimentary tea and daily wine tasting. Very personal and thoughtful service.
I suppose being away from the commercial center of SF may be a drawback for some business travelers.
Feels like you're staying in a home and always a welcome greeting. Wonderful to be in the middle of a residential area. A beautiful short walk into the Presidio. Nothing commercial at all.
If people wake up before you do, there's some squeaks in the floors above.
The breakfast was wonderful, free parking on the street, free internet access, the evening wine reception.
Our room on the main floor was a little noisy, but the in-room sound machine helped.
The hotel is well located with many amenities.
The room was very small and very hot with the window looking out on an air shaft. It did not feel like a queen delux room.
