This downtown San Antonio hotel is half a mile from The Alamo. Southern dishes are served at Phi Restaurant and Bar in the hotel lobby. The modern rooms feature 42-inch flat-screen cable TVs.
Score from 344 reviews Very good
The staff was friendly and attentive. Free valet car parking, free hot buffet breakfast, free fast food type dinner with 3 free adult drinks. We never participated in the dinner and drinks but the breakfast was good. Room was spacious and clean.
Loved our room! Staff was friendly and the Valet attendants were the best, knowledgeable and friendly.
We had to take 2 sets of elevators to get to our room in a newer wing and the clerk at the desk did not tell us that, because she did not know. This was so inconvenient and annoying.
Central location. Swimming pool. Parking not free, but convenient considering city centre location.
Not too fond of valet parking system. Waiting time upon departure. Long lines at breakfast buffet.
Food, cleanness, customer service, location and value for money.
location, breakfast and brunch, clean room.
having to pay parking for each day, long waiting to get an elevator. it appeared that not ALL elevators were in use during my stay.
close to downtown and the riverwalk
would have like a change in menu and your outside patio lack umbrella from the blazing Sun
Very good food the staff was very helpful and the room was great
The elevators did not seem to work properly we waited a long time to get on and they were always over crowded
The Drury is convienlent located at River Walk marker 0.0 making it easy access. A bank building converted into a Hotel retaining all it's early 1900's Architectural elements really classy. They don't build them like this anymore.
Breakfast and indoor pool I liked the most
The staff during breakfast was slow to clean off tables and 3 times I had to wipe my own table and move the dishes to another dirty table .
Amazing place to stay! Staff, facilities, and location all great.
That there is a Drury Inn and Suites so close to the Drury Plaza.
I would suggest an adult pool and kid pool or kids out after certain hour and leave open for adults later.
ease of walking distance to sight seeing
parking is too expensive
Large and comfotable rooms
More staff needed at the kitchen area
Great customer service, very clean, very relaxing. Definitely will be returning for another stay.
The hotel is amazing! Beautiful architechture! The breakfast and 5:30 kickback are fabulous! A parking valet......comfortable beds.....2 pools....nice workout room. Our kids loved it! Worth the money! Right by the riverwalk...couldn't ask for more.
Location, room, staff, on site parking "free" afternoon snacks/drinks, breakfast buffet. You feel right at home.
Elevators a little packed.
We had a king balcony suite and it was beautiful! Right on the Riverwalk and across from the cathedral. Dinner wasn't all that but it is free and everyone gets 3 free alcoholic drinks! Also has breakfast buffet. Wish our stay was longer to do it all!
Valet parking. Takes a while to get your vehicle. Also, our room smelled very clean and was absolutely lovely, but the hallways smelled like mildew.
Location directly accessing the River Walk and many nearby restaurants. The staff were very friendly and obliging. It was very hot and the air con was excellent in every part of the hotel.
My room, at the end of the corridor was nicely appointed but it was dingy. I had to have the lights on whenever I was in the room. Dark brown carpeting did not help at all.
The snacks and drinks. The wi-fi free. The staff went above and beyond. The cleaning staff got somebody to go across the street to get us a Diet Dr.Pepper & Diet Coke. Thank you. Had to stay another night and was able to book it without any problems.
Everything was great. No Complaints!
The hot breakfast was excellent. I was expecting just muffins and a banana! The view of San Fernando Cathedral was amazing especially during the light show.
Cost for parking was a bit extreme.
The reception desk are the old gold teller windows. The art deco lobby is exceptional. When I was finally given a room, a few hours later, and after it had been cleaned (barely), I loved it. I settled into that room like it was home. If I could move that room to another location I would have.
Where do I start of what I didn't like. Firstly, its obvious they have a frequent turnover of staff. They are young and inexperienced. They made several mistakes with my room, only to be moved to another room that was too big for me. Breakfast was always a challenge. The fruit, particularly the pineapple had gone bad. When taking advantage of the kickback 5.30 food, it was mayhem, with people storming to grab food and tables. It was overwhelming. But my decision to write this feedback was based at the end of my check out. I explained to reception that I would be taking the bus to Houston to meet a friend, and would like them call me a cab. I waited 20 minutes. When none came I inquired about the delay. The girl at reception said, "It's only 3 blocks, why don't you walk?" And then she walked away. I had several bags of luggage so I made my way towards the valet, who tried to flag down a cab for me. They were unsuccessful. I gave up. Not one meter away from the hotel a cab stopped. The cab driver explained his suspicions to the hotel had failed in securing a cab for me but its speculation so I won't share. All I can say is this. This hotel needs better management, better trained staff, a lecture on what is considered clean, and a lesson on how to work with international guest. So, on this basis, I couldn't with a clear conscious recommend this hotel to any friend let alone any Brit.
The food and drink in the evening was a great bonus. Breakfast was fab. Didn't mind the walk to our room as we were in the newer tower. The king 1 bedroom room was huge!
Not really what I would call a river view room we could just see a corner of the waterway which nothing happened on. Weren't in our room much so didn't matter to us at all
The 23 floor pool me and the guest I referred enjoyed the rooftop.. The room I had on my reservation was better than expected... Loved it
The fact that your website had the option to check in early and the hotel didn't honor it.. Me and all the guest I referred to the website left early to get to hotel and end up having to wait 4 hours for a room aned had to look for parking and find somewhere to change because we had reservations somewhere to eat..
Even though the Hotel was booked up for the time we were there, there was never a crowed feeling to the place. Breakfast and staff were great.
The king bed we had was like a water bed, any movement and the whole bed moved.
