Super 8 Dubuque  

As I indicated in an earlier note today, we were very disappointed in the Dubuque Super 8. So much so that we will not stay in a Super 8 again. The room wasn't cleaned the best...especially the toilet and tub. One wall of the room was painted the most hideous blue I've ever seen in a hotel room, plus the paint job was horrible....I Could have done a much better job myself. There was blue paint on the ceiling, around the corners onto the next wall, and they didn't even take the socket plates off the wall before painting!!! Then when we looked out the window, there was rubbish all over the place. I also didn't feel that the staff was very professionally dressed. The entire hotel desperately needs updating...by a professional. As I indicated...we will not be making reservations at another Super 8 again.

The people that worked there was very nice and helped us out when we asked them questions.

The heater made way too much noise all night long! It went off and on about every 30 seconds all night long.

Location and price

The facilities were old, and there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway - like a smoke smell. The room was fine for sleeping but otherwise not very inviting to be in.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room. Ice machine that worked. Good variety for breakfast.

Price was right.

I have stayed here each time I come. Mary the receptionest is a wonderful person and always does a fantastic job.

Had a broken chair in the room which I reported to the desk.

It was nice and clean and close to all that we wanted to see and do. Also a nice complimentary breakfast.

Excellent location and ample room

Probably the shabbiest Super 8 I have stayed in, the mattress was terrible, huge slouch in the middle, bathroom was dirty.

We booked a room with Booking.com and when we arrived at hotel, they said they did not have our reservation. We had conf. Letter with number copy in hand. Somebody messed up. They did get us a room eventually. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke.

This 3-story hotel does not have an elevator. The common areas of the hotel were filthy. Our room did not even have a phone in it - so we couldn't 'call down' to the front desk or ask for a wake-up call. Overall, very disappointing. Will never stay again.

Computer & vending machine were both out of order - our room was directly behind the check-in/office and was noisy with sounds of cupboard doors banging early in the morning

The hotel was very dirty. There was garbage under bed when we checked in. hollways and stair ways were filthy. TV didn't work in one room. Bed broke when I say on it and I'm only 140lbs. Biscuits were dry and hard. Gravy was discussing and made both my kids sick.
