Hotel Durant  

We appreciated the pleasant location and convenience for Downtown Berkeley, the staff were very special in their attention to our questions on a variety of matters, the room was pleasant and quiet, the bar and restaurant area downstairs most attractive. We stayed five nights and were sad to leave.

Nothing that we can think of.

The view was wonderful! It looked directly at the beautiful Berkeley campus.

Outdated rooms

Not much. Staff was very good and very helpful.

Room was small, cramped. A new mattress is a must for this room. Bathroom, small and very cramped.

Cleaness and courtesy

A couple of things initially not working- tv and cofee maker- had to complain to be fixed

Close to UC Friendly staff (The lady from Belgium seemed both personable and efficient). The breakfast room was light and airy and the food quite good.

Just a fairly small thing: The blanket on the bed had something that looked like ketchup stains

bathroom sinks are very small, noise from other rooms not good.

I live in sf but avoiding Bay Bridge bottleneck. Attending to relative at Kaiser Rehab Center in Vallejo. Motels there all customer rated poor. Hotel Durant definitely true & best Value. Staying again 2 nites 4/17- 18!!! Many kudos!!!

We enjoyed our entire experience in every way! Thank you so much for the friendly, clean & very well kept facility! We loved the decor of our room & all the old fashioned pictures that hung in the halls, great touches everywhere! We appreciated the nice place to eat & have a drink there as well!

Beds were comfy and internet worked well. They have access to the Cal Rec at $5 and it is a great deal with extended hours. No tea service though.

This is the ideal hotel for those wishing to visit the Berkeley University campus. It has a significant historical background related to the University. In many ways it is therefore rather a specialist hotel with a particular clientele. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The room was kept very nicely and our 'executive graduate' booking gave us complimentary access to a lounge with a very satisfactory free breakfast. The bar and hotel restaurant were satisfactory and had a good, vibrant, atmosphere. Berkeley is not really a holiday destination but for those with University interests and business committments it is ideal.

Staff and location

The room was not ready for guest the lamps were not working tv was not working good, when asked about it in the morning, I was told that I should just call. I came to the room at midnight and just wanted to watch some news, I did not want anybody at my room. Hint!!!! Check all of the things while room is cleaned. Price is much too high for what you offer. Why not nice breakfast in the morning??? The hotel next door had that. Bathroom was not clean, especially the bathtub. I should be compensated for the inconveniences.

I loved the boutique feel of the hotel. The location was great. The bed was very comfy and I really liked the overall decor.

The bed was a little short as I am only 5' 5 and my feet were slightly off the end.

Staff is always very helpful and the rooms are clean and spacious.

The staff was personable and humorous. The rooms were both fun and very comfortable. The food was delicious. The location was quite. I would stay again and recommend to my friends.

Well, the price is a bit out of my range and was only able to afford because of a winter rate on-line promotion. SO Its a little pricey.

Small boutique hotel, very appropriate decor for a campus location. Great breakfast room/restaurant and great bar. Freindly staff. Liked that it had a dock for iphone for music. Very quiet rooms, quiet hotel in general. Would repeat.
