The staff was super helpful, handy wifi, convenient location and clean.Have on numerous occasions stayed at the Hotel Durant.
This was the first time to have stayed in a room on the 1st floor. No view. and the bathroom was way too small. Not up to the standards that I have come to expect from this hotel. Luckily it was for only one night instead of a week like I usually stay.
Rooms small but comfortable. Windows open. Good drapes, no light seepage. Bath ok. small sink area. In general a very nice hotel.
Just everything was awesome! We had a lovely stay :) Thumbs up to the free coffee and tea in the room :)
The hot water in the shower would sometimes suddenly switch to cold
all the staff - especially Ricki
Room was small
I like the comfort, cleanliness and quietness. I really appreciate that my need for a quiet location was looked into. The staff were in general helpful especially the person at the reception on the day of my arrival. i wish I remember his name as he went all out to be helpful!!!
When it comes to receiving letters I wish those at the front desk were clearer as to whether it is possible particularly if the mail arrives after I leave. I am told it is possible but when I enquired after leaving a few days later, the reception seems to be unaware of this possibility. The outcome is I did not receive the mail though the sender confirmed mailing it. It caused some inconveniences and I am lucky that it did not become worse than that. Please do be clear of the policy on this and ensure that the reception staff knows as well.
bed was uncomfortable and bedding smelled stale like smoke
The work desks in the rooms are BY FAR the best I've ever used in a hotel -- plenty of in-desk outlets, great lamp, excellent work chair, lots of desk space, place for pens, pads, books and the desk in my room was next to a window. In room snacks, which I never use, but its good to know that when working late there are supplies at hand. Robes in the room. It is well-located -- great food nearby and in the hotel restaurant, interesting books in the lobby, comfy chairs for reading/waiting, excellent music in the lobby (inspired me to walk to Rasputin's and get a some music that I always wanted, but hadn't picked up yet). I would have stayed longer if I had time.
I had to think for a negative. An adapter for the iPhone dock would have been nice, but my computer worked just as well.
After booking a separate three nights straight through the hotel to add to my booking.com booking, I called to apply an online-advertised discount to my stay. There were no stipulations that would have prevented them from adding this discount, but after multiple phone calls and messages left on the account manager's voicemail, I didn't even receive a call back. Very disappointing. older building--also beware that the walls are thin, It can be loud...
No parking and the staff had no idea of where to park on the street no manager on a Friday what a pain
Location, guest services
Lack of refrigerator
The hotel was perfectly located as we were there to visit Berkeley University. The room was big enough, quiet, clean and had the necessary amenities. Even robes, air dryer, iron, safe and brewed coffee!!!! AC PLUS a fan made the room at the perfect temperature. Hotel staff was extremely helpful at all times.
The price was a bit high. Parking price was ridiculous at 16$ per night. Restaurant "Henry" next door was not that great.
the location closer to the university
the price is a bit high
Great location near the campus; restaurant experience was positive.
We were traveling with my elderly parents and had reservations for six nights. We left after the first. The rooms were tiny, with poor lighting, lacking sufficient outlets for chargers, and had terrible mattresses. My parents had to ask the staff to get ice from the kitchen for their medications and it never arrived. (No ice or vending machines.) I've never written a negative review before, but this time it is deserved. The quirky college-themed décor is not worth the money.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Location was outstanding for proximity to the UC campus and all surrounding activities.
The room was fairly small and the bathroom was tiny.
Location close to Cal!
Walls are a bit thin, I could hear my neighbor.
Staff and surroundings were great. Hotel was clean, love Henry's restaurant/bar onsite. Quick walk to Greek Amphitheatre.
Price was a bit high. Bathrooms are small.
My husband and I were at Berkeley for our son's graduation so the location was perfect. We arrived late so it was convenient to be able to eat something quick at the Pub in the hotel and the food was quite good. Breakfast was also good.
Our room was very small and it had not been cleaned well as the carpet had not been vacuumed and I discovered a woman's thong underwear on the floor in the corner. Also, the bathroom faucet was not appropriate for the very small sink; whenever you turned the water on it sprayed all over the place and on the floor. These 2 things were very annoying and certainly don't reflect well on the hotel!
Historic look and feel
small room- tiny bathroom
Proximity to Cal Staff was very helpful and friendly Loved staying there
Room, location, staff
Not getting a bite after 10.30pm
They let us upgrade from a deluxe queen to a premier king for just $25. Next time we stay there we will book the king room. Amazing view of the bay and room was very roomy and comfortable.
Queen room was very small so we upgraded to a king on the 2nd night.
Рядом с бизнес-школой, удобно
Too expensive you would think that for what they are charging they can at least get a decent elevator.
I loved the room, it had "bongs" for table lamps. I loved the bar & restaurant & the staff!!!!! I loved the proximity to the university also.
historic ambience, relaxing breakfast and dining room, welcoming staff, helpful when I called to find a missing belonging, great shower
sheets seemed a bit large for the bed...
