I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, it was in a very handy location, the room was quite small, however, it was nicely decorated and clean with a nice big bathroom. Breakfast was basic, but when in NYC you go out for brunch anyway, great place called Schillers around the corner. Roof terrace is a bonus, sitting up there on a nice day with BYO booze, just lovely, plus beats getting ripped off on overpriced drinks on any other roof terrace!! Rooms a bit on the small side and no fridge! |

The rooftop view was great, and I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Small room, all bed! But it did the trick |

I love the location -- close to the Lower East Side, NoLita, SoHo. Lots of great restaurants & bars close by. Enjoyed the roof-top garden. I wished there was more closet space, maybe put up some hooks to hang up jacket/clothes... |

The staff was courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was much better than I expected. The room was well designed and always spotless. Great view of the city skyline from the roof. The subway was 30 steps from the hotel. An incredible number of good restaurants in the immediate area. Not really much to dislike - but if I have to say something - the room was too small. |

Very nice hotel with a very friendly staff. I would highly recommend it. The breakfast is also very good for US standards! The closet was so small that I do not know why they have it! Although this is probably part of the hotel concept, the room almost lacked of artificial lighting. |

Breakfast is included, which is self service in the basement but makes a pleasant change to paying in addition The queen size rooms are fairly small - not comfortable for more than a couple of nights as very cramped if there are two of you plus many shopping bags! |

The location is central downtown. The terrace on the roof was really nice. There was 24h access from the hotel computer. The breakfast was very boring - every day the same dry pastry... |

Good location. The staff were very friendly. The room is not big enough, but considering the price, not bad as in nyc. Also good to have the woindows we could open. There was no bathtub, but amenities were BLUGALI's! I 'ld like to stay at the hotel next time again. |

Very nice staff, pleasant room, and great location. I asked for a quiet room and received one away from the elevator on the fifth floor - it was small, but very comfortable. |

the location the breakfast (we had to go to eat outside every morning); the smell in the hall, elevator and room; the presence of the ventilator instead of the normal heating. |

I enjoyed everything about the Hotel East Houston. The room was spotless, cozy, and tastefully decorated. Its proximity to the subway and a being on a main route through lower Manhattan via the bus was highly convenient. The breakfast was better than expected - very fresh quality with lots of selection. The best aspect of the hotel was all of the staff - everyone provide top notch service! |
