The room was very clean and quite cozy.
Great location. NY quaint in hotbed of cool and new things happening in the LES of the city. Nice views from the rooftop. Windows big on views and thick on street noise reduction.
Very good soundproofing and a/c meant a comfortable stay. Room was small but had everything needed and shower room was very efficient. Basement has complementary coffee/tea and computers. Rooftop was bonus with excellent views of the major Manhattan sights. Staff were friendly and helpful
It's noisy with the window open, but not more than you would expect for being right on Houston. When closed it's fine. Furnishing is pretty basic, but functional.
The staff was nice and helpful. It is a good value for a good location - a dozen steps to the F and to Russ & Daughters.
Great location, great rooftop and the staff was very helpful and polite !
As with all NYC hotel rooms, it was a tight squeeze, but the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. The staff were friendly, and when we had a blocked toilet on our last day, it was fixed promptly and with little fuss (the maintenance guy was super friendly and helpful). The common room in the basement provided good coffee and a nice place to eat takeout meals. The roof terrace was great (pity it was too cold to really take advantage of the space). Really convenient location steps away from the metro station, and within walking distance from great places to eat in Chinatown and SoHo. Would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and value for money.
SMALL ROOM AND MINIMAL FACILITIES
trash can wasn't empty at arrival. And same dirt spot stayed for 4 days
located near subway which was practical. Friendly, helpfull staff. Nice rooftop
Bed was hard. Tiny room.
Super location and friendly employees.
Very convenient. Downstairs they have tv and coffee. Nice place to relax. Rooms small hit clean and neat
Staff was great with several requests.
Bathroom was scary with smooth shiny floors, glass doors, and no grip bars. I scalded myself trying to shut the shower off because I couldn't see where "hot" and "cold" settings were on the handle. First woman I spoke to at desk could not explain where parking lot was located.
Hotel was very clean.
The machine for coffee operates on 50 c pieces, very annoying at 6am fumbling to find one in your pocket.
Take a taxi when arrivinf at JFK, it is 10 min away. They have a shuttle that departs every hor which will take you to your terminal, leave plenty of time. Big roo, vomfortable bed, excellent wifi signal.
Room was tiny, not even a desk to work from, I had to sit on the bed with my laptop on my knees.
Great location, friendly staff.
The wifi was not working well. According to hotel staff ISP was giving hassles. So, I guess not their fault, but did detract from my stay.
I loved the location.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel East Houston! The staff was amazing!
The wifi was completely useless over the two days, wasn't even enough to download a google map of the area!
The location is brilliant
Single room is tiny just as at most of NYC hotels.
Staff is friendly and helpful, my price for single room was very affordable compared to Manhattan hotels with own shower. Room was ok and quiet even facing busy E Houston Street.
Rooms very basic. Street noisy. Street dirty not scenic.
The bed was awful. I'm not sensitive to a mattress but it was so bad my back hurt every morning. It felt like I was sleeping on the box spring. I do not have muscle or back problems of any type. The Gem up the street is the same price, same style and a little nicer. I would not stay here again based off the bed alone.
Friendly staff. Free (good/fresh) coffee all day.
Houston St. does stay noisy till about 2am, nice to have street view but back room would have been quieter
Everything was as per website.
Beds are hard. Always noicy on Houston street, but road work made it worse this time. No Breakfast anymore, but you have Clinton Street Bakery close for à good start of the day.
Location with all restaurants and shops around the corner. Nice staff.
Bedding is getting a bit tired
Convenient to Chinatown and Little Italy
The bed was hard to sleep on needs a new mattress
Clean room, comfortable lobby
