Amazing views of the city from the rooftop, staff extremely helpful and friendly, room was very nice.
Weird glass wall between the bathroom and bed was quite disconcerting. Also strange towel like blanket instead of a proper blanket provided.
Fool's Gold craft beer bar practically next door was great. The giant Whole Foods market with great food just a block away was excellent. Practically next to subway entrance, very handy.
Sleep was disturbed by roadworks outside
I had been staying with family in the Gramercy Park Hotel and was staying on in the city for a couple of days and wanted a cheaper option. The place is well located (I have lived in the city and this was close to places I like: les, East Village, Nolita). It is also well located to get cabs over to places in Brooklyn. The hotel has a great rooftop (I smoke and it is nice not to have to stand on the street). It is a simple, clean hotel with friendly, organised staff. It was great to be able to get take out and eat in my room without feeling the need to hide the fact as I often feel I need to do in more fancy places. Would definitely stay again.
My room was a single and so quite small but cosy. There was a little noise from construction outside which started at 7 - I had a Houston facing room - but it didn't really bother too much (it might if you are used to complete quiet). Saying that I liked to watch the world go by so...
Good location and very clean, free mineral water, tea, good Wifi
I love the location. There are so many great affordable restaurants nearby with great food. And the roof deck is a treasure. Very helpful staff.
Only one thing: the glass wall in the bathroom. I prefer a bit more privacy.
Waited 20 minutes to check in when I arrived because the one front desk attendant was on break and the maintenance person on duty was no authorized to check me in. Was charged $100 in taxes on top of the Booking.com rate when taxes were only supposed to be $71 and they wouldn't give me a tax breakdown. The room was in poor shape-- scratched paint, shower was not cleaned (there was soap residue on the soap holder from the last occupant). They advertise continental breakfast-- there was only coffee one day, not even coffee at 9am the next day. Very loud.
location lobby quiet clean friendly at front desk excellent shower
forgot to make up room did not fix running toilet fan in bathroom didnt work
Good location (next to a Metro Station); Welcoming and helpful staff; Roof terrace of viewing NYC skyline.
Room size a bit too small.
Great restaurants located near by. Subway located around the corner making it very easy to travel uptown. Staff very nice and helpful. Room was clean, quite and comfortable...small but it is NYC...you should be out exploring...not in your room. We would stay here again in heart beat.
The electrical outlet in our bathroom did not work. Not a huge deal but it did make it difficult to use the hair blower. Room 405
This hotel is the perfect spot to explore the night life on the lower east side. The beds are comfortable and the rooms quiet. Subway right outside. Nice roof deck.
The rooms are quite small with glass walls to the bathroom but as long as you know your travel companion well, totally fine!
Small room and a see through wall into bathroom
The area around the hotel is great - lots of different bars and restaurants, and all south manhattan sights in walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly, the roof terrace is cool. Shower was good. No breakfast, but free coffee and tea in the basement.
Not enough room to walk around the bed. Mattress was ok but became uncomfortable after a few nights.
Friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy in their jobs. Great location near to good choice of bars/restaurants/cinema/Whole Foods store. Rooftop terrace is a big plus. Close to good choice of subway lines.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the accommodations were just right- a bit plain, but not lacking in any way. The hotel is near the subway, Whole Foods, a small park, and a movie theatre.
Like all hotels in New York City, it's expensive. Less so than some others, though!
Location was great for my needs. Rooms very clean, staff was friendly.
Very small closet.
Location, location Staff are friendly Great price Great restaurants and shopping Free coffee and tea Free bottle of water in room Great view from roof Great view from corner room!!! Close to F train subway Close to Whole Foods
- Roof was closed on the Saturday due to a wedding reception, but we were able to enjoy it after the festivities were over later on that night - no breakfast :(
Room was small - but if your in New York to stay in your room you need to re-think your plans
Location in Lower East Side is perfect- walking distance to Soho, Village and many restaurants and shops. Good value for the price.
Service at reception could be better. Rooms are on the small side, but could be better designed to have more storage space.
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour around the US. I found the staff friendly and helpful (in fact, on my last night as I was walking in, the receptionist recognised me and asked if I needed a taxi booked for my trip to the airport the last day), the hotel was well located on the corner of Houston and Eldridge (about two blocks from the nearest metro station), and has a nice rooftop terrace.
It's a shame that the room was so small - I was by myself and had enough room for me, but a couple with two suitcases might struggle.
Professional front desk staff
Closet-sized room not worth $289 a night ($350 plus taxes)
View from rooftop garden
The staff was very friendly and helpful, yet nonintrusive. The room was very stylish, comfortable, and well thought out. The bathroom was very unique. The location was right in the middle of multiple neighborhoods, easy to get to most of the areas that we wanted to see!
Great location, nice staff
So not worth the price at all!!
The ac was excellent, shower was nice and hot, coffee and tea were excellent.
The room was a little small; will definitely get bigger one next time.
It is in a great location true new yorkers hang here you get to experience more authentic new york rather than thw more crazy touristy parts. Surroundings include lots of lovely bars and restaurants got a real good young vibe The roof terrace is awesome and very spacy you can eat your lunch up here or dinner. I had it all to myself :) understated and not so well known about :) Wifi is free and bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean Would highly recommend
