The Junior suite was larger than expected -my wife and 9 year old twins fit comfortably. Lots of good inexpensive - for ny - restaurants within walking distance. I really like the location, east mid-town, we spent one day in lower Manhattan near the Brooklyn Bridge and trader towers, one day in upper Manhattan near the Museum of Natural History, then we hit Times Square on the way to the Statue of Liberty and ellis island on day three. A few simple and inexpensive subway rides made getting to things very easy. I liked the neighborhood. Felt safe while walking around the whole time, and it's not as busy as the time square area. Would definitely stay here again. For the price ( we paid less than 200 per day for a 4 day stay) I was surprised, the hotel and room amenities were in good shape, a little dated, but overall far better than I expected for ny, If you're looking for a quality hotel that isn't super expensive this hotel is a great value. Staff at check in and check out were a little slow. Would have liked an express check out option but otherwise we liked the hotel a lot

We chose this hotel based primarily on price and location with some lowered expectations from previous reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised by what we got which was ideal for us. We didn't need anything grand but had a homely appartment with plenty of room (we were upgraded to the Junior). The kitchen was basicly equipped but we made good use of the coffee maker. The bathroom ws clean and pleasant to use. The main bedroom was very large and provided a god living area which would have been very good for a family. I would happily return or recomend to a friend I would love to see free Wi-Fi - once again this hotel had high charges so I went to a local Starbucks instead. It would have been a huge bonus to have been able to use free Wi-Fi from the room.

Rooms are very spacious and location. This hotel is highly recommended for people on a budget and want to stay in Manhattan. I didn't like the fact that it seems that Eastgate doesn't not allow later checkouts although they make you check in at 3pm.

Spacious rooms with kitchen; good location (near UN); fair price; helpful staff (e.g. facilitated prompt support to solve a WiFi issue). The rooms are a bit run-down with modest ambiance.

Eastgate is well located, you can walk everywhere from here. Some of the fixtures and fitting are clearly old however we felt this added to the charm of the place and the cleanliness was second to none. We would definitely recommend Eastgate Tower and if we came back to NY stay there again.

The hotel was wonderfully located and priced very well. The room was large and very well equipped with a full kitchen. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was very pleased, especially for a Manhattan hotel! This will be my hotel of choice any time I go to the city!!! Thank you! I could not get the heat to come in and there were no extra blankets in the room. The maid said I needed to ask the front desk for a blanket but I didn't bother.

Basic and a surprisingly large room for the price. Good location - lots of shops around and close to grand central station. Also walking distance from Times Sq and Bryant Park The room could have done with a serious clean

The staff were very lovely, polite, and helpful; the location is great - walking distance to main attractions. Disappointed with the internet service: we had to pay extra to internet (around $50 for a week) on top of room fee, however the internet worked only for one computer at a time and the connection was very poor. Constantly got disconnected, and very slow. Not worth the money. Moreover, we also found that there was another line of wireless internet (that weren't told about) that was free to use! We regretted paying for the wireless. The housekeepers did not do a very good job on some days: left dirty linens lying on the floor in the room after changing the sheets, forgot to put garbage bags into bins; one day they did not clean at all! Did not even come into the room.

what liked about Eastgate Tower was the welcoming staff and sympathy until last minute. The location is quite good but we did not check if it was too far from the tube stations. The size of the room was also very good. I did not like the overall decoration, starting with the reception it was very old fahion and small. The rooms were also with very old decoration, due to some much usage some of the furniture did not properly cleaned: carpet, shelves (they were roasted). The toilet was extremely small even for 2 person, but we were actually 4. Our last visit to New York we stayed in a very nice and cosy hotel, but this time as were travelling with our kids we had to pick a family room, but out 5 hotels we stayed during our holidays in USA this one was the poorest one. The entire hotel needs an urgent make over and if they keep the same staff as today, it will be a brilliant hotel. By the way the photos in booking.com shows a nice decoration when in fact it it not.

This is a gem of a place that provides really good value for money. We stayed for ten days in an apartment room with kitchenette, a separate room with two double beds. Everything was clean and comfortable. There is a lot of space, not easy to come by in Manhattan. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. I will recommend to any of my friends or relatives going to New York and hope to be back there myself before too long. Did I mention all the space - I doubt there's much to match this at the price. Highly recommended.
